Proud to have served as a Royal Dutch Marine, we trained with British and US Marines. We always stood side by side and everywhere on the world we serve we act as one core.. The Dutch Marines exists since 1665 QPO - Qua Patet Orbis : “ As wide as the world goes “ and is the oldest Marine corps in the world.
Years ago my daughter took me to France to visit Belleau Wood…returning to Normandy, stumbled into a bunch of British Marines on a motorcycle tour… when I acknowledged them and they learned who this Vietnam Sgt. was, they treated us like royalty… Never will forget and God Bless my brother “Brit Jarheads!!!” 🫡🇬🇧👏👏😎🇺🇸
Married 2 USMC Vets, raised 2 USMC . Almost lost one at Faluja. Both husband's died from Vietnam- one was dead when he returned, but we didn't know it. The other took his life- couldn't deal with memories. One son lost his leg, but he's aliv. The other son is a OTR Truckers, but still a Marine..
@kennethavesato3883 - As callous as this sounds, and believe me, it's not- all 4 of my Marines knew what they were getting into when they took their oath. The 2 that died never had a bad word to say about the Corp and the 2 that are still with me said it was, by far, the best thing that they had ever done. Thank you for your words.

In November of 1976 I went into an Airforce Recruiter's office. I told him I had just left the Marine Corps office and was 'looking at joining'. The Airforce Recruiter said, 'oh man, you don't want to join the Marines. They eat nails for breakfast and only train to fight". Thinking this over I quickly made a decision: USMC Retired Gunnery Sergeant Aug 1977 thru Jun 1998. You had me at 'eat nails for breakfast'.
I did the same thing, but it was October 1973. The Air Force Recruiter was not in, I saw Marine Corps Gunney standing out side his door. Went inside his office and 2 days later I was at Parris Island Oct-Dec 1973, Plt 395, India Co 3rd Bn. Stayed in 4 years, made rank quick before I knew it I was a Sgt around May 1977. Right! Army vets that wanted to become, became RANGERS OR SF. A young Marine I worked with in Iraq once blessed me I'm saying "SF? Y'all are pretty much as squared away as a Marine." Never forgot that. Total disclosure, I came from a Marine Corps Family. My Dad didn't talk to me for about 3 years. Eventually a (veteran) friend he totally respected convinced him that his son, being SF and an EOD operator was a big deal. My Dad apologized and we were good ever after. We parted well in the end. Truth is, all branches of the military have an important place in national defense. The Marine Corps nitch though, can ONLY be filled with Marines. To the Corps, one each, hand salute!

Many years ago, I had a neighbor, WWII Marine Coro veteran who had a plate in his skull from a wound he got on Tulagi. In 1972, almost exactly 30 years after the battle, he went to a party at my parents' house, and as he kissed my mother, something happened with that plate. He hit the floor hard, looked up at my mother, smiled, said "That's a helluva kiss you've got there Mary!" and died. A Marine right to the end, he went out with a wisecrack that I will remember forever.

@Salvador Vizcarra hey could you shorten it No one is going to listen to you ramble on for 5 hours about how bad the USMC is They might if it was only 5 mins
@Salvador Vizcarra also you sound like an actual conspiracy theorist And also the USMC was initially made for the security of navy ships if they were boarded Until later on they would be sort of an expeditionary force that would hold the line until the Army and Air Force showed up And as well be a more amphibious force, first ones in, I’m not certain about who comes out first however
Forgot, "Retreat hell, we just got here." Said by Marine Captain Lloyd Williams on 1 June 1918, to a retreating French officer, who encouraged the Marines to fall back.
I was 10 when my career Navy Dad took me aboard ship for a personal tour. A Marine was standing guard at an entrance on deck. I asked my Dad, "Is he in the military like you, Dad?" My dad said, "No, son. He's in the Military. I'm just in the Navy."
@@GeoHvl we'd pull security at a ton of places and obviously more secure places or bunkers or subs was something different. But it was taken serious in a way most dont get. One of the examples that was a half joke half serious was a flag officers car pulling up to a checkpoint. He didnt have his id and was telling the sentry dont you know who i am, and tells his driver to go. The Marines drawdown on them and apologize. Telling the officer its their first day they dont know if they should shoot him or the driver first. Theres been plenty of examples of this, never have any Marines gotten into trouble for stopping anyone...as far as even base commanders at gunpoint. They don't play and did so onto ohios or attack subs until they passed it to civilian contractors.

I was in 2/7 and 3/1 from '75 to '79. We expected to be sent back to southeast Asia and were highly trained by the Marines with chests full of medals who had been there but thankfully I never had a shot fired at me in anger in my 4 year stint. But when we were out humping the hills and sand dunes around Pendleton or the mountains and jungles on Okinawa and everyone had just about reached their breaking point, someone would always yell out "Attitude Check?" and the response was always perfectly in unison "Fuck It!!!" and we'd just continue to hump. I was an Army ground pounder in Vietnam. I sometimes thought I had it rough, but what I endured was nothing like the Marines at Khe San. My hat is off to them. And to add some humor, MARINE is actually an acronym for "Muscles Are Required... Intelligence Not Expected".
This is what your worried about? Are you serious? Do a word search on the word Core. See where it leads. Here I'll give you an example. Do one on the word sun. Like the sun burst behind the FBI symbol? Has nothing to do with the Marines, but its quite interesting and gives education! Yeah, Do one on the Word Sun or Son! Here do one on lumin or Luminati...it means halo! Have you ever seen a halo over a saints head. Its a sunburst: a halo, a Luna with spires. an illuminati or lumination; or Sun Ray...get right in yo mind son. Hooah! It means Sun Post which means Column or Sunni columns or Sunne bems or in English sun Beams or Sun Posts or Rays of Light or rah, all the way back to Egypt Rah and before that Satan. Satan means Adversary haa Satan means "the Adversary." See the sunburst on the head of the statue of liberty? A monstrance or sun burst! It goes on..

And a private with a duty belt! The two most dangerous things in the world!! Some me years ago, while wearing my Swansboro North Carolina sweatshirt, I met a retired army lieutenant colonel, he told me he know where Swansboro was. Our local diner here in Belvidere New Jersey I was surprised. I thought he was a retired Marine. Explained he was retired army and I explained about the two most dangerous things in the Marine Corps! He told me while he was in the army he took over a brigade of the fourth infantry division. The first night at the officers club he inquired what the patch stood for! He was told the four arrows meant a second lieutenant going south!!! We do not have a lock on Tom second lieutenants! They are not really dumb they learn pretty quick!
Shave tails were notoriously difficult to train at first for us NCOs. College just about ruined them. Once they began to realize that the NCOs ran the Corps, they settled down and started listening to us. They were fairly hardheaded and full of themselves on day one, but that eased up a bit for most of them the day they traded butter for silver. I'm actually grateful that I didn't get my master's degree until after I was off active duty.

We lost Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz who was from our town. I was and IS very emotional. His father wanted to meet some older Marines from our VFW post, there are only two, my husband and another Vietnam Marine. The father said he wanted to meet older Marines because his son was so impressed and respectful of older Marines. May Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz RIP
Our family has heavy hearts for those 13 that sacrificed their lives. Will not be forgotten. Our son is a Marine and our youngest is going in after high school.

@kennethavesato3883 - As callous as this sounds, and believe me, it's not- all 4 of my Marines knew what they were getting into when they took their oath.
And shit razor wire and hand grenades!
I did the same thing, but it was October 1973. The Air Force Recruiter was not in, I saw Marine Corps Gunney standing out side his door. I was injured in a CH-46 helo accident in 1980 riding to training near Camp LeJeune. After one of the many surgeries I had to go through in order to walk again, the neurosurgeon told me that my days of being a Marine were over. I just told him, "Guess again!"
The difference between the ARMY and MARINES. The ARMY is something you did. A MARINE is something you become.
Any military outfit is not better then the other they all stand for one thing unity... endurance..and discipline!!! Don't ever disrespect any military outfit...it only shows your ignorance and ungratitude

They might if it was only 5 mins
@Salvador Vizcarra also you sound like an actual conspiracy theorist
And also the USMC was initially made for the security of navy ships if they were boarded
Until later on they would be sort of an expeditionary force that would hold the line until the Army and Air Force showed up
And as well be a more amphibious force, first ones in, I’m not certain about who comes out first however

In our troubled world of who and what you are it is a blessing to know there is one thing that stays the same. You are a Marine or your someone else. There is no male female or anything else your a Marine or your not. Bless all our vets.
My Senior Drill Instructor told us that " we chose the Marines, cause we run to the sound of gun fire, when sane men would run away". True
Retreat! Hell we just got here! WW1
Greenside corpsman here. My boys WILL win and i will protect them
Lovely video! "Without discipline, there is no marine corps" is so true indeed
RIP R. Lee Ermey. Semper Fi, Gunny!
Definition of discipline: Working together for the common good!
NICE QUOTES…Semper find my brothers and let’s pray for all of our comrades we lost and are stuck in Afghanistan.👍🏽🇺🇸🙏🏽
I have friends who are Marines one of those Marines I went thru pooley training with kinda wish I could go over there just to get some
Amen!
As a Navy Officer, my best friends are Marines. I have no doubt of their fortitude, no doubt of their allegiance. God bless th3 United Stat Marine Corps.
From the way you spell I figured you were Navy brass.
Thank you brother! You swabs take us where we wanna fight! Lol god bless shipmate
USS Guadalcanal lph7
Thank you sir .
"fortitude" such a nice word for bullheadedness.
We took an oath, to protect against enemies both foreign and domestic. When we left we were never asked to relinquish that oath. To those who make the greatest sacrifice, you will always be remembered. Semper Fi always.
Foreign and Domestic!
Just spent a weekend in Houston with 11 of my Brother MARINES. We served together in the 80sand 90s.We get older but we remain MARINES FOR LIFE!! SEMPER FI MUTHER FUYKERS!!
0:31 One of my favorite quotes. Semper Fi, Jarheads.
Fair winds and following seas to all.
Semper Fi gun's!
@@waltmannikko1250 Semper Fi, Mac!
See you somewhere on the beach brother! God bless And b well 👍
My buddy was in Marine sniper school, one of their quotes, "don't run you'll just die tired."
As an Army guy, I have to say it pisses me off when they can't say Core correctly. It's not corp or corpse. Marine Core. Hell, I know, I buy them crayons. Much love Marines!
I like the red crayons the best'est!
I was an Army ground pounder in Vietnam. I sometimes thought I had it rough, but what I endured was nothing like the Marines at Khe San. My hat is off to them. And to add some humor, MARINE is actually an acronym for "Muscles Are Required... Intelligence Not Expected".
@@wwb7091 Thanks man. That was funny! Salute!
@@wwb7091 that's pretty good man, I likes that one..👊
Memory from arriving at Boot Camp MCRD San Diego March 1967. This is the greeting from our lead DI. "You are going to wish you never met me." " It's just mind over matter, I don't mind and you don't matter." Great times.
Came from a long line of Army & Air Force family members but being the only one who attempted & completed the most difficult basic training (U.S. Marines) , I am so proud of my eagle globe & anchor!!!
If we only had leaders in Washington that thought this way Love the Usmc
Washington would benefit if every statesman were a marine. Washington is loaded with useless pansies who want a free ride and are getting it. There are no real men in Washington.
"Most dangerous thing in the world..a new 2nd Lt with a compass..."
LMFAO true that semper Fi from upper Michigan
2nd Lt's don't have a compass, the squad leader on the point squad does and he directs the point, where to go. Been there, done that.
“Until Valhalla”
Semper Fi
Marine: "Sarge, we're outnumbered by the enemy 10 to 1"
Sarge: "Good! That means the odds are in our favor!".
It's a target-rich environment. :D
In 22 years as a Marine I never heard anyone foolish enough to call a Sergeant, Sarge. That's grounds for a beat down for being stupid. Marines are all about their rank they earned it just like the title.
Semper Fi brothers and sisters !!!! Makes me proud to have once worn the uniform of a United States Marine!
