- We discuss the latest Serie A games, results and standings in our free weekly show. Carlo Garganese and Nima Tavallaey of The Italian Football Podcast, the official podcast of Football Italia, analyse all the latest Serie A news and transfers involving Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, AS Roma, Atalanta, SS Lazio, Napoli, Fiorentina, Bologna and the rest of the league. We preview any upcoming fixtures in Serie A, the Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Conference League, Coppa Italia, as well as covering the Italy national team.
On today's show Carlo and Nima react to a dramatic weekend of Serie A football, as AC Milan stun Inter in the Milan Derby thanks to an 89th minute winner by Matteo Gabbia.
Is this a new beginning for Paulo Fonseca? What went wrong for Inter?
We also analyse the goalless draw between Juventus and Napoli, and look at whether Juve should give up on crisis-hit Dusan Vlahovic.
There is chaos in Rome as Roma sack their manager, appoint a new one, see their CEO resign, their fans launch protests and threats, and their owners buy a Premier League...all in the space of seven days!
Elsewhere, we have a shock leader at the top of Serie A, and first wins of the season for Eusebio Di Francesco, Vincenzo Italiano and Raffaele Palladino.
Plus our usual Baggio, Premface and Serie Ass of the week and much, much more.

one thing that impressed me regarding the formation and tactics of Milan was the risky 4-2-4. It was clear, that the midfield was easy to overcome with vertical or diagonal balls (Barella to Dimarco in the first half). But the Pressing of a line of 4 Attackers robbed Inter of the possibility to build up from the back 3 (which is sometimes more comfortable and versatile). It was risky and sometimes i thought, hopefully reijnders and fofana can hold up the concentration level but - it went well. Good Game Plan
And Pulisic being world class helped too
Yes, he brought the last piece of confident Flair to this approach
It was very deep though
@@ItaFootPod that's what she said
So many excuses here for Inter. Juve & Milan have similar conditions. Only Napoli💙 have an advantage over them in terms of fatigue and workload.
No excuses
Agreed.
One of the most anticipated IFP episodes, let's go
Hope you enjoyed it
Many congratulations on the nomination. You guys really deserve it. Hope you win.
I will be voting.
My votes are in.
Thank you so much!!
Most of all, the fight for the top 4 spots is now pretty open and competitive. Forza Milan!
Very true
I disagree with Inter players being tired. A lot of teams are playing the same amount of games and Inter is a team with one of the deepest bench. In Monza and Milan game they were outplayed and neutralized by better tactics. So let’s give credit to Monza and Milan for getting a result against a good Inter team. Milan started the season sluggish because a lot of players weren’t able to arrive before preseason while Inter had a well drilled team from last season.
Agree to disagree
RE the Serie Arse of the week conversation. Zlatan really needs to pull his head in. As a Milan fan it is right that media and ex players are asking what his role actually is. And what is the chain of command. He's tough guy responses were fine as a player but are totally unacceptable for whatever his current role is. Which we are still no clearer to understanding by the way. Is he a sporting director or "cheerleader in chief"?
100%
I am a Milan fan and my face hurts from the pure joy after the match. Sorry Nima, but it was so nice to finally get this win.
I've honestly been drunk on this victory. The other stories in serie A are... very confusing. Roma ? Really Roma? Also I have a feeling that some of the Juve ultras are for some reason gonna call for the return of Allegri. This league is fine 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No every Juventus fan wants to back Motta. You can't create this headline only Fonseca is under pressure rn
@@WandoLupian I was not being completely serious:) but stranger things have happened
Dont apologize, enjoy mate =)
Need to stay focuses for Lecce and Leverkusen...at this time we have to demand game by game joy...a lot grinta also helps win...Ac Milan should hold steady...less noise, more wins
Papers in Italy are pro-Inter most of the time. Either actively attacking other teams or protecting Inter when they are performing less than stellar. Inter haven't been playing well in the league recently, but you'll never hear about it until something like this happens.
LOLOLOLOLOL
@@ItaFootPod Glad to see you agree
Correct
Correct, I even heard that Marotta and Ausilio moonlight for many of these papers as special correspondents.
Inter will need to show great character to bounce back, and play better. They have the players, but their leaders need to step up, and the bench players need to step up and do better. Well done to Milan though, im curious to see if they stick with the Morata-Abraham front 2 from now on or not. Great pod ep as always and I put in my vote in for you guys!!!
Thanks brother
Inter is being too complacent and arrogant. They’re resting on their laurels/their bellies are full, at least in Serie A. Hopefully they wake up soon. At least in the CL they seem to be more awake.
Or they were just tired physically and mentally after giving their all against Man City
@@BadselS why are they constantly tired? I keep hearing that our players are tired. Could it have something to do with the physical preparation staff?
@@gerardobolanos8901 because of schedule obviously. These dumb international games don't help either
@@BadselSvery true
That is true
Unfortunately it seems like Oaktree, and by extention Marotta, are willing to sacrifice Serie A for UCL results. Inter can't fight on all fronts with its current bench, the derby made it painfully obvious. And if we really prioritising the Champions League, then I hope we reach at least semi-final there. Man City game showed that Inter can hang with anybody in the world, and even win if Signor Darmian stays on the bench where he supposed to be
Let's see what happens
UcL is next for Inter for their Growth. That is how Milan had been during Berlu's time many seasons...
I think Motta is gonna get he's point across so Vlahovic gets it, not worried.... When Vlaho improvise im getting worried cause im a Milanista🔴⚫️
hahaha
Forza Italian serie A
Forza il calcio
Forza juventus
Enjoy the season
Juventus needs Allegri back ASAP, return of the King!
Per favore NO. Assolutamente NO.
Ju Suis Allegri
Give Motta some time to prove himself forza Juve ⚽️
tutto quello che volete sul derby, but that primo tempo was dreadful boys! i don't see it long term :( from a rossonero. BTW Ibra che parla di Gatti e leoni ecc - the guy is a puppet, you know!
I agree re ong term. That's why we both dont see Milan competing for the Scudetto
Great podcast
Thank you!!
Welcome to the community
Nima's defense of Barella was certainly stouter than what Pavard offered up in the Derby. 😉
💙 🖤
Congrats on the nomination! Well deserved!
Thanks amico!
Let’s goo!
Enjoy
You guys are awesome 👏 wonderful analysis keep it up 👍 forza Juve ⚽️
Thank you!
Not a single player on the Roma rooster has shown themself deserving or wearing our shirt. Lazy primadonnas
Why do you say that?
@@ItaFootPod I was born in Roma in 1972 in Salvatore Mundi hospital and have supported the club my whole life; so needless to say I have memories of Roma sides that weren’t always successful but they did show heart, passion, flair, work ethic and dedication. This crop of players have shown very little grinta. Mourinho took these boys by the scruff and helped them be better players and men; yet all they did was complain. The days of the likes of Conti, Falcao, Aldair, Cafu, Batistuta, Giannini, Di Bartolomei, Amadei, De Rossi , and Totti are long gone I understand; yet these new lads fail to show the will to reach those levels and it disgusts me. Watch us play more than just occasionally and you will see a team that quits on the field, quits on its manager, and quits on each other. Unacceptable
Forza Roma Sempre
Please on Spotify and YT put bullet points or however is called that we know which part of the video/audio is about what 😊
Yes brother will do, but we want you to listen to everything
@@ItaFootPod I know but is better if you have them many people today are used to it and people don’t want to start even to listen if it’s not included cuz they want to choose what part they want first to hear, it doesn’t mean people will always jump only to that part it’s just better option when you want to hear first some part which is about your team and then to continue with rest
@@Edi-n2w
Fall of the Roman Empire 🤣
