Totally agree on the squad size. With more games to play they need to make squads bigger or like nima mentioned the quality will suffer and players are going to get injured a lot more. Throw in the international breaks too. Squad size must be addressed going forward

Re Milan. There are big questions marks around our (am a fan) midfield depth. We were short bodies already and then Bennacer got a major injury. We continue to play 4231 with limited (none really) defensive midfielders for the double pivot. I'm less worried about the defence depth.

This new format means there is far less of a disadvantage for being in pots 3 or 4. With everyone in one large table. Teams in each pot can't just disregard the other teams in their same pot until the knockouts. I.e. as a pot 1 or 2 team you still have to qualify against the performances of the other pot 1 & 2 teams. Instead of only have to compete with one other team on that level within a 4 team group.

Ricci is awesome! Italy at all was awesome! I didn't even recognised them. This team only needs Locatelli,Zaniolo,Chiesa,Barella back. But for me Italy need to produce another right back as an alternative for Di Lorenzo(I can't see this guy wearing this jersey anymore. ) he did well in the euro 2020,but Spalletti needs to think about other options like Bellanova or Calabria. P.S.: Pellegrini is a good player,but is very slow. Baldanzi or Zaniolo can play there too ,I think.

I was just born when Totò moved from Juve to Inter and to this day my uncle has that association in his head and I feel like it made him hate me a little because he’s a die hard Juventino. I agree with all of your ideas however the schedule sounds like an NFL team"s non conference games ( ie: at atlanta, DALLAS, at San Francisco, GIANTS). Anyways i don't like the fact that the clubs who crash out are all done for the season in Europe and some don't drop into the Europa League. I think that it just will impoverish that competition and make it less prestigious. Again its an attempt by UEFA just to enrich the already rich big clubs

It was a great result, performance, and very encouraging going forwards. That said, it's only one game. Spalletti has it in him to try and be too clever at times; overloading his players and constant tinkering. I still don't understand what he sees in Di Loremzo (at CB) and what his problem is with Locatelli, who would thrive in this new system which will give him license to push forward. Overall though it's a very encouraging time, moreso when you consider the quality of young players (Liberalli, Camrarda and many others) coming through.
