"Neighbourhoods" is like wine, it gets better with time. People weren't ready for this album, including myself. Sometime later, I loved it and still do! ❤
Sorry but i wouln't call it underrated. I'm a big Blink 182 fan since my adolescent years. I love all of their albums, but as i think Neighborhoods was a good one, it wasn't a great, different or outstanding effort. It just isn't up there with Blink 182 or with TOYPAJ. Let's not even talk about how this one compares with Enema of The State or Dude Ranch.
Nah, Ryan, I kinda agree with you. I don't think you can judge any Blink against any Blink album. Enema of the State is now one of my least favorite hind sight as they've grown....but it took that album to grow and I loved it when I was a kid. I'm 30 now. Their newer works relate to me more. Neighborhoods was good, but that it wasn't celebrated like Enema of the State may have been due to Jerry Finn's death. He helped Blink achieve what they did. Blink's music is era-istic. Early on, their immaturity was awesome....loved the dick jokes and stupidity (as in funny videos). The self-titled and Neighborhoods albums both just felt like a change in that demeanor. I feel like I've grown up with the band. Immaturity, some maturity, and a bit more mature...will always be a fan of this band. This all being said, I listened to Enema the other day....and thoroughly enjoyed the hell out of it. If you like it and think it's awesome, fuck it.
It was recorded in separate studios for the most part (With the exception of 3 or 4 songs) due to Mark Hoppus living in London, while Tom and Travis lived in California. Dogs Eating Dogs was a follow up EP they released a year later in December. Boxing Day was a Christmas song, but the other tracks aren't. It's actually a very solid EP. If you haven't already, check it out!
+TasShuffler Me, as drummer, I can tell you that this is easy when you have experience, sometimes I play 2 or 3 hours (including this song, I play punk rock, covers and own songs), I can play without getting tired, to tired, lol, I love drums!
Robert Lewis completely different styles. metal drummers use double bass, travis does not. No one is better or worse when you are comparing apples to oranges
Whenever I Feel So damn pist or depressed, I go on Spotify and listen to FOB, MCR, P!ATD, Green Day, blink-182, Sum-41, ATL, BMTH, BVB, SWS, and anything I'm going to listen to later. blink-182's music is given to us cheer up, like Mother's Day, Dick Lips, Just About Done, Transvestite, and Built This Pool. The real Therapy comes from All Time Low.
RockMusic Reviews its a simple drum part. listen to Matt Graska's parts in Animals as Leaders group, he plays solo everywhere:D ( sorry for my English:) )
Genius! Cold, dark and modern with subtle changes from how punk usually is written without moving away from the genre. They knew they had to do something highly modern and fresh with this new album and this song is a proof of that
One thing among the monay other reasons why I love this band. No matter how old I get.... High school feels right around the corner. This band keeps me young! 🤘🔥
After reading Mark's and Travis' interview on Tom and how much they struggled in the last several years to motivate Tom, the intro where he says "We got a show to do!" over and over sounds more and more facetious and tongue in cheek everytime I replay it. Interesting.
Mark, Tom and travis toured for 10 straight years together after and before enema of the state. they broke up after that. try going on the road with 2 of your friends for 10 years playing the same songs every night and see how you feel after year 2.
They used to turn them loose in the night like fucking Jekyll and Hyde they were supposed to be having the time of their lives but they were dying inside. Oh wait nevermind those are lyrics on this actual album. So once again it's not bullshit brother it's the truth spoken by their own lyrics.. It happens today and every single day to talented beloved bands and shitty bands alike, all over the world.
Been listening to every song since July 3rd denver show. Best band in my life time grew up on them since I was 4 or 5 and waited till I was 27 to finally see the boys and it was worth it.
One of the greatest things about Blink 182 is their ability to have fun and put on a great performance and interacting and joking with the audience, it brings the concert to a whole new level, plus i never laughed so much during a concert b4 :D
Travis is the best drummer ever, Tom is the best crazy man with the best voice ever and Mark is the best smart crazy man ever! LOVE THEM! ♥ blink 182 forever!
I realize he played guitar, but people saying they miss Tom I'm assuming are talking about his vocals. If they miss his guitar playing...why? The dude's not Jimi Hendrix, Watson.
If I wouldn't have seen this video and was just listening to the song, I would have guessed it was 10 years old. This totally sounds like old blink, very fast, energetic, and to the point lol
I was actually at this concert where they filmed the music video in Atlanta. It was a pretty cool surprise, and they even played this song twice in a row to get enough footage lol. I always try to find myself when I come back and watch it but havent had any luck.
I have to respectfully disagree. While I do enjoy all of their work, Mark's songs are almost monotone. There isn't a lot of range or variety. Epic builds ups though.
For as much as people didn't like Neighborhoods when it first came out, I think it's fair to say we'd lose our collective minds if a banger like this was the first single off their new album.
Take off the gloves We fell in love by the side of the road This desert will break you down The veins you cut Your smoking tongue is the end of us all But you only care about Fame and fortune Watching others tortured Casting your reflection Grocery store perfection This is the last time Sent to the front line With dirty boots on the ground You said I'll make this all mine You seemed so sweet at the start But the start's all wrong You say you speak from your heart But your heart's all gone Yeah your heart's all gone Blackjack and architect Let's drink ourselves to death The crimes of everyone Passed down from father to son Hopeless and destitute Destroyed by gratitude Your strongest lines of defense Are all just self-inflicted wounds You seemed so sweet at the start But the start's all wrong You say you speak from your heart But your heart's all gone You seemed so sweet at the start But the start's all wrong You say you speak from your heart But your heart's all gone Yeah your heart's all gone You seemed so sweet at the start But the start's all wrong You say you speak from your heart But your heart's all gone You seemed so sweet at the start But the start's all wrong You say you speak from your heart But your heart's all gone Yeah your heart's all gone
Of course: Dogs Eating Dogs (The song), Disaster, Dont Leave Me, Party Song, Dumpweed, Aliens Exist, Man Overboard, Online Songs. If you like Travis, check out +44 and Boxcar racer songs too. You're welcome! :)
Wilkie Ejiroghene Dammit, the music video will have scott drumming but it is one of their best songs, Violence has a lot of Travis drumming and is amazing, Lost without you, a slow song but it has a very unique double dueling drum solo at the end that is just pure amazing. Always, travis does a really unique intro beat to the song using the side of his snare and floor tom. facts ❤
SO TRUE! It was like regarded the worst album at the time but has aged so, so well!
It's disgusting how under rated this album was.
Sorry but i wouln't call it underrated. I'm a big Blink 182 fan since my adolescent years. I get that point of view. This album just reminds me of where I was at in my life when it came out, so it gets bonus points from me hahaha
How exactly was it even recorded? I thought dogs eating dogs was just for that blink 182 christmas thing they had for it.
This song is definitely designed to show off Travis' drumming. Love it!
***** Yep he is in The Transplants and blink still with Mark and Matt Skiba.
Their new album dropped this summer, California
Travis Barker = Legend =)
Travis Barker is a god!!! The best drummer of our time.
TRAVIS FOR PRESIDENT
Travis is an absolute machine in this song. Far out he must be fit to do that for hours during shows
You're mistaken. Watch heavy metal drummers
No, I'm just talking nonsense...
yea, just like numerous other real punk drummers. There's a ton of punk drummer that drum faster for nearly every song.
Whenever I feel sad, I return to listen to Blinks music and it all the bad seems to be gone. FUCKING LOVE THEM!
Their music is the best therapy
+Javier Flores I agree and I do the same thing!
This album was such a gift. People didn’t appreciate it at the time but I’m pleased to see so many come around to it
True that growing up blink
Mark will soon defeat cancer we love you Mark
👀
Guess what motherfuckers.
Time traveler 👀
I think neighbourhoods was actually one of blink-182s best albums
fuck
no
your crazy lol California was shit
Opinions op. I respect that.
Neighborhoods is easily in my top three, you're not alone mate
King yh!
Neighborhoods had the best overall songwriting of any blink album. Easily my favorite.
Agree
Even one more time isn't at this level of perfection. Dogs eating Dogs is. The only thing that outdoes it is Untitled.
What I love about this band is they're all equals no one is the frontman. All 3 are legends
fucking yes to this comment
Probably the most underrated song ever.. this is definitely top 5 for me!!
This makes me so sad. Look at them. I miss them.
currently, they still making music. Now, even if it's without Tom, it's Blink 182's stuff.
Adam Carmo Yeah but I miss the three of them. Together.
***** I wish I could go to see them live again. They mean so much to me. Lucky you!
I couldn't bring myself to go and I've gone to every single concert that came through my hometown since 2000.
I miss y0uuu I miss y0uuu
Travis is such a fucking beast.
Amen
you are sooo right
Yes! He drums so fuckin tight.
I love how the drums in that song is basically Travis barker doing a drum solo:P
Esse cara é muito bom!
Thiago Florencio d+ :)
RockMusic Reviews its a simple drum part. listen to Matt Graska's parts in Animals as Leaders group, he plays solo everywhere:D ( sorry for my English:) )
RockMusic Reviews he is doing drum solo
+Vlad Kolmykov That song is nothing compared to this song and anything travis barker has done
Fun Fact, They played this song twice in Atlanta to record this, I was there it was so sick!!!
Same! Can’t wait to see them with Tom again
"Heart's All Gone Interlude" is just the perfect proof that no words are needed to communicate feelings.
I think what makes Travis such a good drummer is the fact that he can play in every genre.
Genius! Cold, dark and modern with subtle changes from how punk usually is written without moving away from the genre. They knew they had to do something highly modern and fresh with this new album and this song is a proof of that
^
One thing among the monay other reasons why I love this band. No matter how old I get.... High school feels right around the corner. This band keeps me young! 🤘🔥
The drums are crazy good in this song...
Um...you mean every song?
Jordan Meyer i won't be home for christmas?
After reading Mark's and Travis' interview on Tom and how much they struggled in the last several years to motivate Tom, the intro where he says "We got a show to do!" over and over sounds more and more facetious and tongue in cheek everytime I replay it. Interesting.

Mark just think in money dude.
This wasn't the first time they've had problems with Tom. It's a shame.
They used to turn them loose in the night like fucking Jekyll and Hyde they were supposed to be having the time of their lives but they were dying inside. Oh wait nevermind those are lyrics on this actual album. So once again it's not bullshit brother it's the truth spoken by their own lyrics.. It happens today and every single day to talented beloved bands and shitty bands alike, all over the world.
the drums in this always get me replaying, the chorus is so good for the drum track.
You say you speak from your heart but yours hearts all gone
OMG Travis is killin' it!!!😱
th-cam.com/video/E01W152kgJc/w-d-xo.html
Been listening to every song since July 3rd denver show. Best band in my life time grew up on them since I was 4 or 5 and waited till I was 27 to finally see the boys and it was worth it.
This could totally pass as a +44 song
Definitely
this album has aged like a fine wine, it's soooo good!!!
My favorite song from this album and one of my preferred ones of them. Blink-182 🖤
Travis is a beast ! One of the best drummers ever !!
This is one of their songs where Travis lays down a crazy drum beat and Tom & Mark just play what they can over it.
Blink 182is kinda 90% drums... Man, he is a genius!
he is alright lol there are a bunch of drummers that are a bit more creative.
I was at this very show in atlanta at lakewood. Best concert of my fuckin life
Me too. It was badass! Gonna miss Tom but still love the new stuff too.
SAME
Same. I was in the pit front row.
I like the very end, cause they played it twice
"Did you guys like that song?" "Cause we're gonna play it again!"
+Edgar Alien Poe ahhh you lucky son of a bitch. well you can bet your ass I'll be front row August 2nd!!
You are one lucky guy
perhaps the greatest Blink song of all time. this has been my fav band now for 12 years! crazy stuff
going to miss this blink182
If only the album was appreciated when it came out as much as it is now, definitely a classic and one of the best rock albums of the 2010's
blink is life!!
Tom mark and travis = pop punk perfection
The last fast blink tune, the end of an era
+Anon jhub *cough* Dogs eating dogs *cough*
6/8 says hi.
No
California and Deluxe sucks major balls
Wildfire
this is the most intricate blink song to play on drums, imo :)
the beast travis
Se essa música tivesse sido lançada em 2000 sem dúvida seria um dos hinos da era blink
❤my number#1 favorite song of all time ❤️
no but seriously I air drum this song and always feel like I need a nap
#longliveblink
those drum beats and bass wow just awesome
travis is just crazy when playin drums
I think they've got a show to do
Billy Boin you might be right...
MultiColiflower I freakin love your profile pic, my three favorite bands in one pic
+Billy Boin They might. But idk.
I'm not gonna like it bc there are already 182 likes and I don't wanna ruin it
xXPunksterXx same
Such an underrated song! My new favorite though!
Still listening this song in 2024
Won't ever stop. The only band to write nursery rhymes and play it fucking fast. That's exact what they did. Wrote nursery rhymes and play it fast.
Seriously, Travis in this song, just... WOW!
comparing to the other songs in Neighborhood, this song is the most "BLINK 182"
yeah, tom voice sounds like shit in the last album
After midnight sounds like untitled blink to me
vincent sifuk After Midnight, Natives, Even If She Falls, Heart's All Gone, Up All Night sound like from untitled
MH
the best of blink 182!!!!
my favorite band
+rahmat arif best band ever
"You seemed so sweet at the start but the start's all wrong.
You say you speak from your heart but your heart's all gone." - so true.
incredible, travis. i have not words
the speed travis uses in this song is absolutly insane
I think this was a +44 song that was left over. I love it.
T.B this is one of the most versatile drummers in the world, Hands Down! Hey what a great band name.
Good drummer is a 50% of a band
You mean 33% of blink-182?
In this case it's 70%
Nic laracuente No, cheshire and dude ranch were skate punk masterpieces with a current drummer like scott. He was just 17-19 years old.
FandA Scott was fast, that’s it. Good drummer forsure, but Travis brings speed and so much more creativity.
Trè Cool would totally agree with your post. 😵🤙🏻
best song from neighbourhoods. Hits punk but is also different. I like this one.
Mark definitely wrote this song
The last blink-182's song, Tom I miss you :(
+Alejandro T That's not the last, check the EP
+Alejandro T Tom out :D
+Alejandro T Tom did nothing but sing backup in this song. Lol.
if Tom did nothing but backup vocals, then who's playing the guitar sherlock?
I realize he played guitar, but people saying they miss Tom I'm assuming are talking about his vocals. If they miss his guitar playing...why? The dude's not Jimi Hendrix, Watson.
THAT FREAKING DRUM IS INSANE DUDE!
Excelente toke Travis Barker!.... para mi, el mejor baterista del mundo!!!
If I wouldn't have seen this video and was just listening to the song, I would have guessed it was 10 years old. This totally sounds like old blink, very fast, energetic, and to the point lol
honestly the best blink is the fast energetic and to the point blink
This song is actually about 10 years old now :)
This song would've totally fit on Dude Ranch.
I was actually at this concert where they filmed the music video in Atlanta. It was a pretty cool surprise, and they even played this song twice in a row to get enough footage lol. I always try to find myself when I come back and watch it but havent had any luck.
Marks songs saved neighbourhoods tbh
I have to respectfully disagree. While I do enjoy all of their work, Mark's songs are almost monotone. There isn't a lot of range or variety. Epic builds ups though.
Tom wrote 8 of the songs on this album
i can not fucking wait for the new album
fuck me blink broke up[
***** It was a rumor. Tom cleared everything up. they didn't break up.
They weren't breaking up in general. Tom apparently left but it was just rumours.
Dillon Sukhu www.rollingstone.com/music/news/blink-182s-hoppus-barker-blast-ungrateful-disingenuous-tom-delonge-20150126
Colin Adams tom this outside the band
I love this song it's got their real old school rock sound
One word of advice to those who say they are pop or not punk blink 182 has always had their own sound and style, you can't group them into a genre
Travis is insane!!!! I’ve played with some good drummers but this guy is just wow
For as much as people didn't like Neighborhoods when it first came out, I think it's fair to say we'd lose our collective minds if a banger like this was the first single off their new album.
When this was released back in 2011 listening to it over and over took me back to the Dude Ranch vibe lol
yup, guess why: Scott Raynor
I love punk.. still love this band and this song nice tempo, and liar drum, punk not dead! 2021 from bali punker.
When Travis hits the bell on the ride it hits that spot in my ear and its glorious
I loved seeing these live they were flipping epic !!!!!
yeaaaaaaaaaah
Soooo great! Right up there with any Blink tune. :)
One of their most underrated track!! Fire starts at 2'11!!
Drum track is so amazing ❤❤❤❤
Take off the gloves
We fell in love by the side of the road
This desert will break you down
The veins you cut
Your smoking tongue is the end of us all
But you only care about
Fame and fortune
Watching others tortured
Casting your reflection
Grocery store perfection
This is the last time
Sent to the front line
With dirty boots on the ground
You said I'll make this all mine
You seemed so sweet at the start
But the start's all wrong
You say you speak from your heart
But your heart's all gone
Yeah your heart's all gone
Blackjack and architect
Let's drink ourselves to death
The crimes of everyone
Passed down from father to son
Hopeless and destitute
Destroyed by gratitude
Your strongest lines of defense
Are all just self-inflicted wounds
You seemed so sweet at the start
But the start's all wrong
You say you speak from your heart
But your heart's all gone
You seemed so sweet at the start
But the start's all wrong
You say you speak from your heart
But your heart's all gone
Yeah your heart's all gone
You seemed so sweet at the start
But the start's all wrong
You say you speak from your heart
But your heart's all gone
You seemed so sweet at the start
But the start's all wrong
You say you speak from your heart
But your heart's all gone
Yeah your heart's all gone
Dont know why but i feel those lyrics are for Tom and his departure from the band....
WE'VE GOT A SHOW
TO DO!!
This song is so classic blink. Awesome.
I've listen to this band since I was little and still my favorite band. They all are awesome
Travis... Beast mode on!
I don't think it was ever off!
+Charlie Platt right!!!
Our parents have warned us about grown men stalking us on the Internet but oh how the tables have turned
For some reason, when I think of a "classic" blink song, I don't really think of this song, but it's so freaking good! Just wow!!!
the drums in this song are incredible
:D yeih!
7 years :0
