I'm always so inspired by these programs, they bring hope for those who once did not know how to dream because life was a struggle; they bring inspiration to humanity because if China can do it against all odds, every under-dev. country can. But I'm also saddened by western media' negative propaganda, such as BBC, with their relentless criticism on their so called "legal opinion on intent" re Xinjiang. But I have hope in China, she is on the rt path.
Why are Western countries so afraid of China's success? It's because, as you say, if China can succeed, then so can other underdeveloped countries. If that happens, then the West will no longer be able to dominate and exploit the underdeveloped countries.
@@dapengxiong Well observed. Unfortunately, the West really has a vital interest in ensuring that other countries are poor. Kudos to China. Such a massive and arduous project is impossible without leadership all through the layers of government, and even more important, the dedicated on-site team. Long term poverty alleviation to break the poverty cycle will depend on education of the kids and also establishing business that can use local resources. Guidance of the team will be required for a long time.

This was a beautiful journey, this video was more meaningful than 100 documentaries from DW channel, a film about improving the life of people and a lesson to us still in poverty.... many poor countries have a great lesson on how to fight poverty and china can bring that experience to 3rs world countries.
If the parents have very little or no education then how can they LEAD these children in something they don't have any idea about ? Yes the efforts to alleviate poverty has been tackled but even the parents should slowly be educated in this manner as they may be ages behind modern programs. Follow up guidelines should be introduced by people in the know.
If one kid from this village went to college and be successful in his life , I think the parents would know. They can compare or related to their own child.
as the alleviate poverty said, our effort is help one generation or two to leave poverty, if there is one kid from this village could enter college, it’s a good example for whole village, also a motivation for villagers.
This follow up is great. It goes much more in depth with the difficulties of changing mindsets. Like getting children to study and the parents to both want their children to study and supporting their studies. I've volunteered a few times at schools where I live over the years, and despite the resources we have, you can see the difference between kids who have more support and those who do not. There's a quote that comes to mind: "You can bring a horse to water but you can't make it drink." Near the end they talk about giving the opportunities to grow, but in the end they must want to grow themselves.
An interesting video that centers on a bold vision, an amazing programme, and admirably devoted and committed government officials. The world has a lot to learn from examples like this.
A sincere documentary of real story! Great job and thank you! Everyone only has 1 life, praying the villagers especially their children will have brighter future.
Learning takes generations. Change takes generations. Honor is the hard part. With honor of all of us, the rest of the journey will lead to great leaps forward.

China broke 🙅♀️ their promise 🤝 of two systems in Hong Kong (1997-2047). Everyone knows it 🌍 The whole world sees it.
Please China, don't lose face! 😔 TRUST is easy to lose, hard to build...
If China was HONORING two systems in the first place, there WOULDN'T be any protests. There would be PEACE☮️! The Hong Kong people have 🗣 cried out. Now the world 😭 cries with HK. Please China, don't lose face. I love China 🙏 I want China to be a good character in the world community and show that they can keep their word [integrity]. I am Chinese ✞
Hong Kong was supposed to be a symbol of China's☀️bright future. Not a reflection of its past🔫(1989). Oppression 🤐 is never 🙊 stability...
No country is perfect! It's OK to criticize China where they are wrong. Please do... That is why we have 🗣 freedom of speech 🗣. Chinese citizens are forced CCP propoganda 🐍. They have no other alternative than the CCP's narrative. They have no election or voice 😔 #FREECHINA 🙏 and be GENUINE instead of fragile.

In China, if you are a member of the CPC, you are required to help people in poverty besides your own job , your other responsibility.

Best wishes to the young man, your song brought me into tears! And best wishes to the villagers, especially the lovely kids!
It was truly beautiful
Thanks CGTN for bringing home this wonderful story of China's poverty alleviation program. I thinks this have real meaning and can be applied everywhere. In fact I have even started thinking of implementing some of this novel progam in my areas. Thanks for highlighting those two wonderful musician. The song was really beautiful.
Thanks for this very interesting presentation about the poverty alleviation initiative, showing both the achievements that have been made as well as the continuing challenge of convincing villagers to embrace education!

This is what the Americans called evil “socialism “ 😂
Well .... socialism ... China is maybe not as socialist as u think 😅. Actually also quite far away from being communist.
@@johanhirte9661 Well, give them time! It's less than a hundred years so far, I think they're working toward it with great focus and determination. At the centenary anniversary they might have something to really show along these lines. I know this is probably not what you were getting at!

Well I guess it is good that they don’t try it anymore. Maos Experiments cost 40 mio Chinese their life’s from1958-62. And destroyed Chinese cultural sites from 66-76.
I think China is way better off by pretending to be communist (even it never was) and being a capitalist country in real.
But social welfare and the equal distribution of wealth in China is a fairytale.

Well that is the case in Germany. But not n China.
Please tell Muti that thousands of people around the world now care very much how his life will turn out and are rooting for him. I hope to hear more about how he is doing in the future.
As a Chinese I want to predict his life. To be honest he still can't compete with kids from cities. I think he will become a carpenter or constructor, or a cooker. If he is have no ability to do that, he will be a worker in factory of East China, and earn more than 5000thousand RMB per month, it has been a good rate. Of couse if government help him, maybe he will become a farmer and raise sheep or cow, it will be another story. He will have no change to sit in the office, but still full of hope, because in China there always lack employees, too much job ready for people to choose.
No everyone can or should be an office worker. Luckily in China you are not judged by the work you do but how hard you work
Such an amazing doc, I never thought I would cry when the kids flipping pages on the book and answer his questions, communicating with him

Thank you CGTN for this follow up story on Liangshan. I watched the Oct 2019 story and wished we had people like Mr Shen Rui in our country. His earnest determination is compelling and I'm sure the village will remember him in generations to come. Im sure he has successfully completed his mission there and hope he is finally home with his wife and child.
Thousands on thousands of China's civil servants have been helped by the Chinese government as a full-time aid poor. And send the scientific and technological workers from the eastern coastal areas to the western and poor areas for technical guidance, so that they have the ability of sustainable income.
You cant say poverty now, its a developing village.
Hats off to the government of china and y all people who worked so hard to make those dreams becoming a reality.
Soon those child will go to school. "Smart" one will go outside and those who will stay in the village to help their families.

I have had the fantastic luck to see this story before all these improvements. The dedication of the group of men who work to push & pull the community into compliance without duress, is probably the most inspiring theme of this presentation.
I was involved in so called development aid in Sub-Saharan Africa with a Western development agency. All I can say it is a big scam.
And when it comes to major counties like China or India they really fear for their hegemonic position. I wonder why we can't all live in peace and prosperity like it should be.

I thought those were the white villas in Greece! I'm glad to see the wealth of a fast-developing country like China, can be shared by the poorest prefecture as well, and no one is left behind. It cannot be perfect overnight, but you try hard and aim high. I see hope on the smiling face of the children. Along with material improvements, comes education and the growth in wisdom and knowledge- a new attitude of mutual respect, new ways and dreams. Much appreciated the love and care of the property alleviation team, Nadim for being the peace-maker and getting your hands dirty, and the film crew for making this video available.

I was touched by the two boys' song, the best I've heared recently. They are able to achieve their dreams.
Kudos to China. Such a massive and arduous project is impossible without leadership all through the layers of government, and even more important, the dedicated on-site team. Long term poverty alleviation to break the poverty cycle will depend on education of the kids and also establishing business that can use local resources. Guidance of the team will be required for a long time.
great job 🇨🇳 Chinese government has the right visions to lift people out off poverty.... 👍👍👍
Great documentary. The people who worked as poverty alleviation officials have great patience , trying their best to change old deep rooted habits. They should be commended for their efforts.

This was a beautiful journey, this video was more meaningful than 100 documentaries from DW channel, a film about improving the life of people and a lesson to us still in poverty.... many poor countries have a great lesson on how to fight poverty and china can bring that experience to 3rs world countries.

看到最后,听到那首《凉山谣》,我的眼泪夺眶而出。我现在正处于人生的最困难时期,正如视频中讲的一样,发展,求变,有目标,有追求,肯付出,我相信未来日子会越来越好!
I have followed the poverty alleviation program from UK, & from its beginnings its quite an achievement.
Many adults lose interest in learning
as the alleviate poverty said, our effort is help one generation or two to leave poverty, if there is one kid from this village could enter college, it’s a good example for whole village, also a motivation for villagers.
Amazing...
I just fall in love with my motherland China again. Thanks to all these biased reports from the west, I love China and trust our government more.
