I am a new subscriber who also has heavy clay soil. I was wondering why some of my roses are struggling. Your videos are extremely helpful. Really appreciate it.
Thank you so much for sharing! This is very helpful. If you could also share how you water your roses, that’ll be a complete guide for us newbies who also love roses. Thank you!
Hi, thank you for the great videos! Quick question, can you detail/make a video how you take care of the roses in bottomless containers? I just transplanted quite a few of my roses from heavy clay soil over to newly built raised beds/bottomless containers. Some of them look to be in shock from the transplant (fingers crossed they recover). Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. 🙏
Thank you for stopping by! I will definitely make a video to share about transplanting roses. Meanwhile, I can share with you here that try to transplant them when the weather is not too hot and ideally when the sun is not out so maybe early morning or even better in the early evening when the sun comes down. That way the plant have some time to recover at night. For now you can water them with vitamin B-1. Follow the mixing instructions on the bottle www.homedepot.com/p/Western-States-1-Gal-Vitamin-B-1-Liquid-Fertilizer-100047058/100607914?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&&mtc=Shopping-BF-F_D28O-G-D28O-028_002_FERTILIZERS-NA-NA-NA-SMART-NA-NA-SMART_SHP&cm_mmc=Shopping-BF-F_D28O-G-D28O-028_002_FERTILIZERS-NA-NA-NA-SMART-NA-NA-SMART_SHP-71700000064087486-58700005695909825-92700051963344737&gbraid=0AAAAADq61Ud6DsnapHSz4ReItkCES8Mf8&gbraid=0AAAAADq61Ud6DsnapHSz4ReItkCES8Mf8&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqPGUBhDwARIsANNwjV5jxR3nYwMmL6etd_WIxijsdv8JK7_zftSxT3uDo7sNP6fw24tl2V8aAqAdEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Thank you for the tips! Much appreciated! I had no choice but to move my roses to raised containers because our soil in Texas are dense with clay. 🤠 I definitely will try the vitamin B-1 soon!
Thank you very much for the tips. Your garden is so beautiful. Imagine if you don't have clay soil. There would be so many more roses and flowers :) I like the way you arrange the ornaments & statutes around the yard too. Can't wait for yr planting of the remain 50 rose bushes !
Thank you for visiting! I know, my clay soil won’t drain for days. I can’t wait for the back side of the house to be amended so I can put them in the ground. The other side of the garden is such a mess with so many pots of roses still waiting to be transplanted.
thank you for sharing. what type of soil did you use when had them in the pot and did you use the same method to fertilize them. also how often did you water it your roses.
I used potting soil when i plant them in pots. Soil in pots tend to become hard bc as you water the plants, all the organic material will be washed and drained out so occasionally I will add some chicken manure to fill it up and some times I go around the garden and dig up some earthworms to put in the pots so that they help keep the soil soft from the worm castings and the organic material from the chicken manure.
thank you for the tips. can I add wormcasting along with chicken matured ? all my da roses are very green and healthy looking except not too many blooms. I am not sure what to do to get more big and beautiful blooms like yours.
I’m living in 9b as well but your rose garden much beautiful than mine. My roses look like suffering in heat. I saw you have some roses in container. Do you do the same way to feed your container roses ?
Thanks for your rose feeding technique, it is very informative. Very beautiful roses and garden. You are definitely doing something right.

Hello. You have beautiful rose garden ! I’m so jealous!
Which zones are you located & what breed of rose is your favorite?
I’m living in 9b as well but your rose garden much beautiful than mine. My roses look like suffering in heat. I saw you have some roses in container. Do you do the same way to feed your container roses ?
Yes, I feed the roses in the container the same way, but sometimes more for containers bc the nutrients get washed out of the pots.
Please can you accept me as one of your rose friend...Your roses are gorgeous and I want to keep learning to make my better...😁
