    I had brought coffee grounds home from church and temporarily left the bag by my garage.... a couple days later I remembered and when I opened the plastic bag I brought them home in.... there were worms in the bag!! They smelled the coffee and went on the cement driveway to get to it!! I was really surprised they liked it that much!!

      @@jlseagull2.060 That makes sense because there are rocks and tree roots in the ground they could scratch their skin if they weren't equipped to not get cut from just moving around/on stuff.

    So grateful you mentioned spent grounds aren't actually and acidity problem!
    Dispelled a myth that was preventing me from diving into utilizing them in my garden! 😄

    • @RWM1955
      @RWM1955 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually he is just parroting what others have said about coffee grounds acidity. Percolated grounds that are a brown color may be in the 6-7 range, but the black French press grounds that I PH tested today were very acid at a PH of 4.42. I use an Apera instruments glass probe PH meter that is calibrated and very accurate. Most of the grounds that you get from Starbucks or other similar coffee shops are going to be French press grounds.

  • @Lauradicus

    We use organic coffee and unbleached paper filters. The grounds go into the compost bin inside the filter... a bit of carbon to (help) offset all that nitrogen. I’ve picked up coffee grounds from shops before. Dear hubby didn’t like the stink - the grounds had gone anaerobic. So if you save your grounds in a container for later use in the garden dry them out somewhat first.

    Cool video. Check out your local Starbucks for grounds... if you ask them they'll save clean grounds for you. I can get an unlimited amound from mine, I just call around 14:00 they day I want them and by 19:00 when they close they have about 15 pounds! I split it up and give it away. They're happy to help support the whole "green thing".
