thank you for this tutorial, and I've bought your pattern on rarely.com. Unfortunately, this pima cotton yarn, is very difficult, the shedding is a lot, I've never seen anything shed like this, and I have two dogs. I'm going to swap out and find another type of size 5 or size 4 yarn and adjust accordingly.

I'm making this sweater in a size small using both the video tutorial and the printed instructions as a guide. After completing both front panels (20 rows each) and the back panel (60 rows), it totals 100 rows. The instructions state there should be 101 rows. Are you counting the foundation chain as a row?
Hi I just came across your video tutorial and I am trying out this cardigan and I saw the pattern of 119 for xl even though the person is slim I can't help but get a small front panel I am using acrylic yarn and yours which is a size small looks longer than mine I have loosed and I just started again it's still small
You might have a yarn with a smaller weight than hers. She's using a yarn that is bulky (5) and most acrylics are a medium (4). It could also be your hook size or tension that is making the cardigan smaller. The pattern gauge is on her website which is in the video's description :)

Is it possible to change the stitch slightly to be a moss stitch by sc into the ch space rather than the top of the previous sc? Would that work for the whole pattern? I'm looking for a moss stitch cardigan pattern.

You can use any yarn of the same weight. It doesn't have to be the same brand or material.

Hi June, feel free to experiment with crocheting the ribbing directly onto the cardigan but I found that with the yarn I used I couldn't get the ribbing to lie perfectly flat - it was either to loose and ruffled or too tight and pulled on the edges. I hope this helps!

I’m curious why you did the body ribbing on the cardigan separate and then sewed it on afterward as opposed to just crocheting the ribbing to the cardigan? I’m still fairly new to crocheting so I’m curious if there was a reason why for this. :) Loving your channel!

Hi Jana, if you use a different stitch that will change your gauge so I can't guarantee if your cardigan will turn out the right size or fit like the sample!
You can use this pattern as a guide though, if you're willing to experiment!

If you are between sizes what do you do? Like if you have a bust size that is between say a size small and medium, would you make it in the size small?
Hi Teni, if you're in between sizes I'd also check your hip measurement. Since this is a long cardigan you want to make sure that your hip measurement is less than the bust measurement so that the cardigan is comfy around your hips. If both sizes still fit you then it's completely up to you! If you want a more oversized look - size up and if you want a more fitted cardigan - size down.

Hi Tonia, You might be able to get away with a thick worsted weight suitable for a 6mm hook (Lion Brand Heartland would probably work well). As always just make sure to crochet a swatch to make sure you meet gauge.
