That and the teleporting heavy tanks that magically appear in your flanks ruin this game for me to the point that I won't buy it and I'm a grog from Battledroids times. Watching this just pisses me off that there is no MWO5 planned so i can play within a company of friends vs. Real opponents. I'd buy the game and even my ridiculous number of mech packs to see that, though some kind of allowance would be cool. YOU SEE THAT PGI, WILL BUY MECHPAKS.
I really like how it was so dark you could barely see anything. That is when you know the animators are crap.
So they retconned the original opening???
Yep
by the looks of it, this one's in for a retcon as well.
Well this is better than before but better than before is not hard. Why do I get the feeling that the attackers have a weight limit?
And seriously a centurion losing the left arm has to run from a spider?
When seeing the opposition the dad could have recalled his fleeing son so they could take them on 2 vs 3 with not so bad odds actually.
Why not show the MASSIVE invasion force? Why not have other mechs from the unit fight and die to warrant the hasty escape? Even com chatter would have been nice like „this is charlie company, we are being overrun at xyz!“
The Igor would have made more sense to run from in the release dates cutscenes, as it carries 2 ac10s.
I can't figure out what mech Nik has, is it a Victor or a Charger?
Victor. Gun on the hand. Chargers are nothing but light lasers at this point in time.
PGI needs a new script writer and a director who understands the game. This trailer is pretty bad.
I tried playing this on PS, totally sucked. Is it worth the money for PC? Does it need a joystick?
well, Rhianna has better voice acting in this one, that's for sure.
Now if only they can fix that shaky HUD issues when you are being jammed. That made me so dizzy I had to uninstall the game.
There is a fix for that its called destroy the jamming device
the sorry is just as horrible as before ... goes in the city that is being invaded, gets his dad killed and runs from a light
Wow! This was not even remotely as good as it should have been. Both the old Mercs made me a little invested in the characters. This just seems like a bad tabletop GM's quick way to start an adventure. It's been done too damn much in this franchise but at least it was usually done well.Maybe the stompy robot part will be good.Gonna see what Tex thinks :-)
ill give it a few points for being in engine, but the animations and effects just make it pretty lackluster to me. Maybe my bar is to high
Jake....
Where is the Infantry?
Lies. That they were.
Mechwarrior 5 is one of those few games where cinematics match the real gameplay
Exactly my thoughts. This is the MW5 they should have released in 2019.
ok.. just out of curiosity... WHAT THE F is that mech @4:00 on the low-right screen? That's not a P.Hawk, is it?
You bet your ass it is
@@tplambert I've never been a fan of the P.Hawk... Personally. ::shruggs::.. It just doesn't do it for me, I guess. Not going to argue that there are a great deal of people out there with an unhealthy (opinion) fascination of the mech. Me? I just don't understand that, i guess. :) --- but thanks for verifying it. (B.t.w, what is it with the fascination for that mech? I'm curious.)
@@timothymccormick5208 I am not a fan of the mech either. I can’t comment on the obsession with it. I think maybe people find it looks cool I guess. My favourite mech overall is Zeus. I also like Mongoose (from. MW2 mercs), Dragon and the Crab.
@@tplambert I hate the Zeus with it's lack-luster weapon loadout.. but aesthetically, it's QUITE SEXY!... (which is why it's one of my more favorites, same with the Victor 9B.)
@@timothymccormick5208 in the battletech game it’s indeed difficult to work with, but it’s got good speed for an assault, can take a pounding and can harass big ‘painful’ mechs from a distance. It’s never a mech to go toe to toe, but to pick from a safer distance. I think people get confused where to place it because it’s neither a full on lrm boat, or a direct combat tank. Slotted in between though it performs its role admirably. If you are Willy waving a victor right in front of the enemy, the Zeus can happily pick away with a large laser and ac5. That damage over time is pretty alright albeit not devastating.
Why spend money on this that could be used to make the game better.
Something about the style of these mechs is off and has me missing mechwarrior 4 dearly.
If the promo video looks like sheet, imagine the whole game (((
Most shit games have promo videos to hide their shame
I know everyone is jizzing their pants with this new cinematic but the idiocy of seasoned veterans getting into a sieged zone for no good reason is beyond words. The old intro was rough but it set the characters and motivations much better and in a more organic way.
👍
This intro has more story than the actual game, unfortunately
just bought it like 2 hours ago , now i cant even start the game cuz it gives me LowLevelFatalError and somehow all the Files are swapped around in the Game's Directory :D:D now i gotta wait another 4hour to download the game (: yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay......
disable your mods
@@celestialserpent6078 never played with mods , like I said after i bought and installed the patch the whole. Files where ffked up:D worked fine after a clean full install ,epic games is a good launcher 🤣🤣
As far as taking risks goes... this one was really stupid.
"The Commander's" voice acting is not good. And why do commanders in Mechwarrior games never eject?
Because how else will you get control of the company
Great intro, should've used more of the older trailer themes.
All these new graphics and it still isn't as compelling as the MW4:Vengeance intro.
OK they ripped off the mechwarrior 2 mercs intro, but if your going to rip off one of the greats might as well be thst one
Mechwarrior Living Legends. That's what we want. Die hard fans want that. ROC Battletech fans is your ONLY democratic. You're not going to pull in new fans with this b.s.
*demographic. you're not wrong, it's just a wrong word.
Pros: graphic, cons: copy paste revenge story from mw4 , lackluster terrain, dumb as door nail AI, near zero consistency in damage, and well a lot of everything else. wait till it drop to 15$ then buy, even if that, better buy mw4 mercenaries , load up mods and enjoy.
Zero consistent or are you just bad at aiming?
@@burnttoast.2017 You damage mech leg, you turn away, he miraculously heals. That what i ment by consistency in damage, Clearer?
@@brankolazovic5385 This isn't gameplay
@@brankolazovic5385 can't say it isn't shitty though
@@brankolazovic5385 oh, yeah. Vanilla mw5 sucks so much I forgot about that mechanic
I like how they sold out and still couldn't make it any better despite getting an extra year of time and money
Просто охуенно )))
looks clunkier than mechwarrior 3..
look like combo of MW3 + MW4 + MW2 intro
only MW3 intro vs this is a Hollywood blockbuster vs Bollywood worst.
Yeah but have they patched the game being shit?
Holy crap. This is actually good.
by 90s Hollywood standards or today's RoP standards?
I'd say it's prettier but I can't tell what's going on for 60% of the cutscene with how awful the lighting is.
It feels like a machinima knockoff version of MW4:V's intro but even then there's actual machinima with better visual design.
Comes across like most things in the game, poorly executed.
This is terrible... sad thing to see when hopes were so high...
