I have both the xm4 and APM. All i can say is this is a good review of the headphone. Real life opinions are great and helpful for those who planning to buy the Airpod Max. The audio and features tested are exactly the real thing, even better than listening to binaural test.

I really want these AirPods Pro max… but I’m trying to be patient and see if V2’s are released anytime soon with a better case…
The price is steep…but I want them enough to cave in, even if it’ll hurt a bit. The sound quality, the build quality, the apple ecosystem integration, and the slim profile of them are really appealing. (All other headphones look GIANT oh my head, so I love the love the slim design of these)

Great video, one of the best covering these headphones. Stylish, enjoyable, with lots of good info and perspective. You gave us both a sense of how they fit into the market and how they'd fit (or not fit) into our lives. AND the flow felt natural. I'm guessing that planning, arranging, and editing were challenging to get just right, but you pulled off quite a trick. Made it look easy.
Is the case useless on purpose, to create a 3rd-party market?

I just want to say that this was a great, real world review of the APMs. Not to say that other reviewers don't do a great job, but you went straight into the variables that I think most consumers will think about compared to the technical details and specs of the headphones. What really made this video great was the vlog like style (well I guess you could say it was a tech review+vlog?). This one aspect, to me, helps provide a more real world, real people type of review for the APMS, especially when you had your friends try them and talk about it in a casual setting.

It helps me more then most others i could find, because you do some real world tests, what shows these Headphones strengths and weaknesses in a good way.
After long time of deciding about the meaning of such pair of Headphones beside my other decent cable driven Ones,
the deeper Price at my Retailer today and your helpful Infos let me pull the trigger.
Glad i found this Infos, otherwise i would be to unshure still.(the real time ANC and the soundstage with the transparency mode was the one i was not shure. After your showcase it was a clear thing)

A great video as always ! I love your real world tests. We can actually relate. The Sony have a great sound and they don’t cost as much. The noise canceling seems better on the Sony. The dog is so cute.

Great Video. The visit to the friends house and their input was great. Apple has realized that they have such an enormous fan base that their fans will pay practically anything for an Apple product. AND - all other things being equal, Apple products are beautiful and function incredibly well. They have established a top tier brand and people are more than willing to pay a lot of money for their products. Great video! Keep 'em coming!

Ambient sound on the Airpods was way better than the other two. I have the Sony M3's, but will probably get the Blue Airpods to match my new Pacific Blue 12 Pro Max. I'm jealous of your snow, would love a white Christmas in the UK.

The thing I liked about this the most was the experience. I feel like I lived your life for the day. Also the AirPods max seem like great headphones - not so outlandish of a price for someone with a bunch of gift cards!
Using more side pressure may be a good way to aleviate some of the weight on the top of the head, but it makes for some fun potential headaches for folks with glasses. So far all headphones that use that approach have ended up going straight back. Soft padding doesn't really help either (depends on the glasses, but with most of mine that's a nope), so typically it's either light headphones or ones that use a fancy weight distribution on the top of the head.
you have a good point with the glasses. that is where the pros 2nd gen come in handy

Loved your real life review. I watched it with my brand new AirPods Max. I have the same Bose 35 series your friend has.. and I agree, the AirPodsMax is better. To me, much better. Now, I never worry about folding them up as your friend, but the weight distribution on my head is a big deal.. just that would have been worth the price difference to me. However, the Bose was given to me by my last company.. hard to complain. Last night, I was trying to use my Bose, which is almost 4 years old, and had trouble with my bluetooth connection. It's always been a problem in that once its connected to .. like my AppleTV, and now I want to use it on my iMac, the connection is difficult. Need to unhook, (i.e. forget the device), to pair with the other. So, far my new AirPodsMax has been seamless on that front. As far as the money goes... it was steep for me, but I use either my tax refund, or my work bonus to treat myself, so I don't let price be the issue.. I just make sure its the thing I want. Finally, I agree about the case... for all that you and I might have gleaned from the price - that Apple was making a high-end device, that really is oxymoronic.
This was a lovely video. Thank you. I have the Sony WH 3, Bose QC, AirPods Max, Powerbeats Pro and AirPods Pro. The Max destroys the others, in my book. I especially love spatial audio. I expect Apple will release a new Apple TV that will allow for spatial sound. I expect them to launch other enhancements for the Max too. The Powerbeats are my go to for cycling, which I do a lot. I exercise in the Powerbeats and AirPods Pro. I typically wear my Bose in bed. They are light and comfy. I can even place my head on pillow if I want. The Max I will wear when watching movies, listening to music and possibly for travel. Just yesterday, I ordered a soft/premium drawstring bag for the Max. I think it will protect them pretty well (with booty shorts case) in my backpack. The most important earphones for me are the AirPods Pro. The noice canceling is great, transparency very good, nice sound and small. They are my Zoom friends and are a part of my EDC-every day carry-along with Spyderco pocket knife, Streamlight flashlight, mask, small hand sanitizer and iPhone. I can’t forget LCP 2, when necessary.
The AirPods Pro and Max are a great team. I will likely give my Sony’s to my son. I used to keep them in my travel backpack/briefcase, but had started just using AirPods Pro on plane flights.

My wife has the QC35-IIs and they are good/great, but to me with up to 4 devices and changing I really love the convenience of my AirPods Pros switching too much to go back to a manual BT-switching life...

Man, I'm using a pair of 2 years old headphones of about $35 but just got the Huawei Free Buds 3 which are twice of the price, but I feel like even in that I can't see the real difference, so if I go higher than that, I won feel it at all, most people won't for sure, so I think those who buy it will be more fans than audiophiles.

I like that you aren’t biased to Apple products as well, other companies have great technologies that work with all kinds of brands and pretty much have the same features within Apple ecosystem. Thanks for mentioning that! My Jabra’s Elite 75t can switch between my iPad, iPhone and PC in the middle of songs and conference calls no problem. I love them.

Can you please test them with the B&O H95 please? Im purchasing them both and need to know which of these two boutique products are best for me.. And yes I would spend that much for them because of there quality, it’s great, the materials are also great and I really like a product that has longevity.

I upgraded to the APM from Bose QC35’s and after a few days, I honestly couldn’t go back. The APM is like having a car with power door locks and the Bose is like going from that back to a car with manual locks. Everything is a bit better with the APM, more refined...but what really gets me is just the feeling of them. Once you get used to the aluminum and steel, it’s really hard to put on plastic headphones again. At first I was concerned the APM was going to be a little too heavy, but after about 10 mins I forget they’re even there. The Bose just feel cheap and flimsy to me now.

Funny, the Montblanc"s were also my choice for new headphones, before the Max was released, but there were very few reviews for the Blanc, and I was just waiting to make a choice, luckily the Max was released :)
IF I actually needed another pair of hp, and I don't, I'd buy the Montblanc...like the style, having an on/off button, aptX, and a real case....all those items missing on the 🍎🎧.
@TheUnlockr i see you are wearing all of the headphones in negative temperatures, is it ok? I have read somewhere that operating temperature for B&O H95, that i want to buy, is 0 to +40. Is it the condensation problem or battery life?
I’m interested to know how they sound. But much like your friend, I value transportability very highly. Which is something no one seems to focus on, and frankly I hadn’t thought about till he said it.
I rock a book bag...everywhere. So it’s very important to me. It’s the reason I’m willing to spend $250 on AirPods Pro, rather that just settle for the $50 jay lab air I currently have. The sound quality is pretty good in my current pair of ear buds, especially at $50. But, the case Is bulky and a pain to put in my Jean pocket. I would however take a real hard look at the Bose your boy has. What’s the model on those?
