You did a really nice job explaining this. Someone mentioned adding PAG. That is incorrect. Note to others, you do not put PAG in when recharging the system. It must be added when the pump is replaced or a line ruptured and oil leaked out. If that is the case, the system must drained first and the correct amount replaced. Adding PAG to a system with enough oil will tax the compressor shortening its life. It will also not be as cold.
You should be reading the blue pressure line, not the outside pressure line. Your pressure for 134a is read on the blue line not the outside pressure reading. The colored lines match the color of the refrigerant.
You really should have waited at least half hour after you turn evacuator pump off to see if you had any leaks, because you had pump running and said it's holding pressure but it really wasn't yet. Because it's still pulling vacuum so if you had small leak it's really not going to show up unless you turn pump off and wait a little while. Then if you have small leak it will show up
@@DIYD_Do_It_Yourself_Dadwhat if I need to replace the ac compressor? I thought that’s what you needed to do before taking out any components of the AC system
You purged the yellow line by pressing the schrader valve at the manifold, but isn't there air in the blue line also? Shouldn't that be purged also, and if so, how?
To let the freon go down into the system. You hold the can on the side or straight up and the nozzle is on top. You aren’t doing anything except getting pressure into the car
This video is well done. I followed your steps to the "T" to charge a friend's AC, and everything went perfectly. Thank you!!

Really should weigh cans and calculate exactly what is going in system.
Nice video dude
Did you turn the car on before you started to fill? About to try this on my truck

3:45 he said it had been an hour?
Informative
My man "opened 3 cans" might have to open a fourth if this comment section gets out of hand. 😂 Seriously, great info, well done, thanks for sharing!
Okay, question:
When you applied vacuum, where did the refrigerant in the vehicle go?
It was empty due to a leak. I repaired the leak before starting this video.
If your system is full don’t use a vacuum bc it will suck it all out.

@@jazzbuff1394 the blue line is under vacuum so there is no air in the system.
He helped my ac also !!
Why do you hold the can up side down?

You need to put a small can of PAG 3 oil in system to lubricate compressor, 2 cans of 134 plus 1 can of PAG oil would have been just about right.
Whats wrong. The temp 85 . My low pressure 55psi high pressure 130psi
Possibly a bad soleoniod on your compressor. Common in some cars.
“Some oil” ? How much is “some oil”?
I assume you are talking about the vacuum pump. It came with a bottle and has a line to indicate when it’s full.
You still gonna have a leak
What makes you say that?
i wouldnt even bother hooking up the high side. you're just asking for the valve to leak again.
You have no idea what u doing
