    I can’t thank you enough for all the knowledge I gain in watching your videos. I never new you could tune the horns like that. Very interesting and well done. Thanks Tom

    Just fixed the FIAM horn on my 82 Maserati QP3 thanks to your video. Little oil and sandpaper and we're back!

      Good on you! That's what I love about older cars, their components are "serviceable" items! Thanks for watching.

    I found a similar horn setup with 3 horns that spent at least 40 years in the cellar of our former body shop. The horns sound great, but the compresser seems to be dead. Now I see that it might just take a little bit of courage disassembling the compressor and checking, cleaning and oiling everything. If I succeed I will install it in my 65 Pontiac Coupe that has a very meeky horn.

      the nice thing about these old machines is they usually come back to life with a little bit of attention. Good luck!

    Greetings from ‘downunder’ …. I appreciate you posted this a while ago, but thank to your video the Fiamm air horns on my Maserati Indy are now once again in ‘full song’ 😊

      @@indyvignale-wu9qk it’s so rewarding to fix something that’s relatively easy and makes you smile when you hear those horns work again! Thanks for watching!

    I love the simplicity of the Fiam air compressor. Fun little project that just about anyone can tackle.

      Like I said, sometimes these old parts just need “a little love!”

      FIAMM horns were used in many cars, and I believe also available in the after market. They do have a nice sound. Good luck!

    There is a lot more behind the typical Italian TOOOT than I ever imagined. Thanks so much for this Tom.
    Up to what point did Ferrari use this setup?

      I believe the same compressor was used into the 330s. By the Daytonas, they changed to smaller units.

    Definitely looks like a bit of Resale Red overspray. Nice video.

      @michaelpsmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Red is actually correct for the hoses. The original Fiamm hoses are very slightly transparent red. It's hard to tell from the video whether these hoses have that slight transparency or not.

      @@michaelpsmusic the hoses on this particular car were replacement hoses, so not correct.

      This car had different layers of overspray! Thanks for watching!

    I have a MUSICAL HORN DIXIE siren, it has 5 horns, it works, but it's not very good, it plays poorly, it doesn't have a strong sound, the compressor is heard more, i.e. the compressor is heard the most, I don't see anywhere on the side that there is a plug for pouring oil, from above where they are screwed on the rubber hoses for the sirens have a cover with 3 screws, maybe the only thing I need to do is unscrew it and then add oil and wd spray

      There has to be an inlet port to pull air into the compressor. You can try putting some oil in there to see if it'll pull some in to lubricate the internals. If that doesn't work, take it apart and see. Good luck!
