So cool, I was looking at a boat that is for sale right now in the Citadelle Port, right across from you. Always wanted to own a houseboat and maybe I should do it as long as I am living in France, plus the canal system would be a joy to explore here.
I highly encourage it. You should definitely watch my other boat buying videos before choosing you boat. There are lots of options and lots of pit falls. Cheers!
Beautiful boat! Back when I was cruising in France in the 80's & 90's, the shower, toilet and sink outflow all went into the canal; is it still that way, or do you have holding tanks for the toilet? If so, how much is it to pump it out? All our boats in England always had tanks.
Yep. It is still that way. Our boat does have a holding tank as it’s designed for Germany but it is disconnected here in France. The are very, very few pump outs.
Good question! This will be our boat to guide trips ~ this is very exciting for us as we will be able to get to parts of France and greater Europe that are only available to private boaters.
@@SavvyNomadTV so will you host guests on board, or serve as lead boat with people in other boats? Either way it sounds like great fun and the type of trip I would really enjoy ☺️
@@andreaandraschko6359 We only have one boat and we take a small group Sara and I and up to 4 others. It's really quite nice. Here is what we are doing this year: savvynomad.com/2023-alsace-lorraine/ The schedule for 2024 hasn't yet been determined. If you want to be notified of when the trips become available send me an email: david@savvynomad.com and or you could sign up for men somewhat monthly newsletter.
@@SavvyNomadTV I'm going to watch your adventures for a while, but I'm hoping to be able to plan a trip to France in a few years, and what y'all are doing is right up my alley. What a fun dream come true for you guys!
@@andreaandraschko6359 It's been a long time coming and it is fun to do. I did do a whole vlog series of our boat trips in 2021. These were my first attempt at making videos so their quality is a bit rough but the scenery in France smooths it out for me. They are on a playlist here on the channel. They should give you an idea of what we are doing and I'm probably biased but I think it's pretty good vicarious travel.
What a nice boat David & Sarah! Hope to travel together again!
Thanks Jim. That would be great. 😃
Thanks.
You're welcome
Perfect THANKS
You're welcome! As the year progresses we will be in touch.

Excellent when can we leave??? Steph and Kathleen
We've got you penciled in with Susan and Chase for April of 2024. How does that sound?

No gang plank ?! What will you do when you capture your enemies on the high seas?
I guess they'll just have to step onto the bank!
Are you keeping this just for your private use or are you planning on doing guided trips with it?
