Something was definitely off on my r8 the AF was impressive vs my r6 , My r6 struggle with black dogs and the Af will jump in to the nose and eye back and forth. With the R8 the AF was more assertive then The R6.
Looks like in 23:06 Sony overheated because it was with the lcd closed while the R8 was opened. Besides that, Sony needs to be set to High temp in the menus, otherwise it will overheat.
It helps with those differences open lcd and settings. We had this on a fairly high profile shoot and it overheated fairly often. Luckily we were doing half hour segments so it cut out predictably enough it didn’t hurt us at all. Over all this is one of the best Sonys I’ve ever owned! I even bought a second. Also bought a second R8 if that tells you anything. Thanks for the comment!!!
I came from Nikon and I can't leave canon. I had a Sony 10 years ago and the level of chromatic abrasion was insane, they have only recently matched Canon (2-3 years) but I still just can't take someone seriously who's using a Sony dslr, (for video their on point) when i see green or yellow skin I usually think oh this was shot on a Sony. I dont agree the sony has better color at all. But I shoot in raw and color grade. I'm just old-school in my ways I guess. Good for Sony though for now being neck and neck with the big dogs. This comparison was really apples and apples. The Sony is 500 more than the Canon for the Ibis. The Sony is basically between the Canon R8 and R6 M2. I have the Canon RP which is the same footprint, all my glass is RF lenses so I'll definitely be moving to the R8, I love the amall SLRs. I skipped the R5 and R6 because I found they had some issues
@@extrememiami totally agree. Canon does such a great job on making footage look natural and cinematic whereas the green yellow-ish tone and the contrast from Sony give me a sense of a TV show lol. I always notice the sky color looks so unnatural on Sony, like " no way the sky would look in this blue shade in real life". however i do agree that sony does way better in low light
Hello! I plan to buy à sony a7iv but im scared about auto focus eye lash / front focus Some revus mantion that eyes are often not pin sharp Sorry for my english :/
Thanks for the comment. We really wanted to make sure that the eye tracking works in more scenarios than studio. We still have most of the cameras we have tested and use them. If you want us to visit eye tracking we can do that. Is there anything else you would like to see?
Great video, what about the Panasonic S5ii, against the canon R6 ii or thd Sony A7 IV, i'm confused, mainly for product photography and also for video sometimes. Thanks
Thank you for this video. one question. Which camera has better focusing system and better dynamic range? Sony a6700 or Canon R8? Do you have experience? Thank you
For documentary work, would you choose the canon fx3 or the canon r5c? I like to take pictures on occasion. Great content. Also, what lenses did you use for the canon on this video
Both are really strong cameras. If you are already invested in the Sony glass the best financial choice could be the A7iv; its a best of a camera even at that price point! Thanks for commenting!
The fact that u can buy TWO R8 BODIES at roughly the same price as A SINGLE M4 BODY is insane. In price to performance ratio, CANON R8 beats M4 hands down. (usd 1100 for r8). R8 bateery is poor. sony m4 skin tone is horrible for Indian asian people maybe it is great for white people idk. of course overall m4 beats r8 when we ignore the PRICES.
Sorry I really want us to do chapters too but where we have several of us working all the time on different content we are finding we need a workflow manager! It’s the details right. Thanks for commenting.
NOTE: I have m3, m4 and r8, I mostly prefer CANON R8 for its great skin tones.
Awesome review! You both are incredibly informative, thank you for sharing.
i'm sorry canon's AF is meant to be king in photography :P
So true but the R5 was insane in the video AF - it is hard not to judge all Canons on that standard.

True about ski color science. I like canon color more. Had Sony a7rii.
Thank you for being 100% honest
In 20 blind tests no one picks the Canon color. It's crazy. They pick Nikon and Sony.

That's why it's blind, that's what you need to be for not choosing canon colors 😂

The Guy On the left is Rooting For Canon.....But Sony Comes Out On Top!
ca you see shutter count in your R8 camera?? i cant see shutter count on my R8. HELP.. PLEASE REPLY if anyone knows about it.
7:50 Are u seriously testing face eye autofocus at F9 ???? What a ridiculous strange aperture for this test/ Redo this with 2.8 at least

Great video!
5:52 What lens in canon r8 in stabilization test?
We try to do all of our tests with the native 24-70 RF 2.8f.
Thanks for watching
you lost the highlights on the canon because you let more light into the camera...maybe one stop..
great video, i had so much fun watcing this and learned a lot, greetings from Peru

Canon color is always Canon ❤
what should i choose between r8 and M3 ? for product & Exhibition photography and Video graphy? and why
r8 simple choice
Me gusto mucho! es una video de la cual ya podemos escoger! ! y me gusto mucho la explicación,
gracias y saludos ! 👍🏼 😉
Muchas gracias por vernos! Saludos
Thank you for this video.
one question.

We honestly haven't tested any of the Sony a6700 range cameras, but we can definitely add it to our "to do" list.
Thank you for watching!

Fx3 is the better choice for all kind of video work . Unless you need more resolution & can build full rigged setup
What should I choose between r6 mark 1, R8 and Sony a7iii for portrait photography? All 3 are almost the same price
R8, has the sensor of the R6 Mk2 at a 1000 less
Which one best? I want to buy but not sure Which one Will be good.
R5 ii
@@rick_is_rockthousands more than r8 🤡

@@soldoutmedia8025Jared Polin tested R8 against A7 IV and R8 crapped on it. Thoughts?
You talk about the stabilization of the R8, but it doesn't even have IBIS!
But most RF lenses have. And R8 also has digital stabilization.
R8 the Underdawwwg

Oh awesome! I can try to translate that at least for a start!

Did you end up trying the full frame af rather than picking a zone on Canon?
definately zone or single point autofocus.
Half and hour and no chapters ? 🙁
