Snorkeling Silver Glen Springs To Bring In 2022 On Our C Dory

Living in Florida, we are able to enjoy the outdoors with relatively mild weather. This past New Year's Eve was spent on our C-Dory Venture 26 Sport as we visited Renegades for lunch and snorkeled at Silver Glen Springs. It was a beautiful trip. Even Lake George, the second largest lake in Florida, was glassy calm. We have never seen it this calm. The best part of overnighting in the wintertime is that places like Silver Glen are not very busy with people. There were definitely houseboats and other swimmers, but not like it is in the summer. In the summertime, Silver Glen is so packed with boats, you can walk from boat to boat without touching the water. Our trip was quiet and peaceful. Of course, it was not peaceful at midnight when somebody set off some spectacular fireworks. We were surprised only because there isn't much in the way of a beach. Also, there are a lot of trees, boats and it is a state park. All reasons NOT to set off fireworks. That being said, it was pretty amazing!! So thank you to the random person who supplied us with New Year's entertainment.
