The main reason why roblox feels stale is probably because of how bad discovering new games is. The front page algorithm doesn't really reccomend you games that you would actually play, but rather it's mostly the same games being reccomended for most people on the platform. Another thing is that a lot of the front page is trash cashcrab games that look almost same due to them copying each other's thumbnails, gameplay, art style, and because of that you think of them all as one game. Popular games that have been on the front page a long while also makes up a good percentage such as Adopt me, anime fighting games (I dont play those genre of games lol), Brookhaven, jailbreak and etc. What i feel like what Roblox should do is rework the front page, so it reccomends more diffrent up and coming games. Atm the front page is trash in terms of finding new games (other than the sponsored games section, I've found a few gems from there)
I agree, the front page could use some improvements. But at the same we gotta remember that not all games can be gems, so it’s only natural for the majority of the game to be mid (this is just my opinion tho). Anyways, thanks for the comment :]
Eh, I kinda disagree. The whole point of the reasons why alot of games are so popular now is because they provide revenue. Let's remember, it'd be a big risk for ROBLOX to promote less popular games since not all hidden games are good games (keep that in mind) but I do see what you mean as Roblox should promote upcoming [QUALITY GAMES] the problem is there are around 40 million games on roblox and it'd be annoying for Roblox to go through ab all the majority of less popular games and promote them. The only way I can see what you mean by roblox PROMOTING a few games is either they make a ROBLOX SharkTank (highly unlikely) or make a roblox gameJam (highly unlikely) roblox isnt the same platform as it was a few years ago and they arent as interactive. Front page does deserve a few rethinkable choices tho. But alot 'OF THE QUALITY GAMES' are currently a work in progress. (Just My Opinion tho, don't take it the wrong way!)
@@iamLudius What I was thinking about was Roblox making an algorithm (kind of like TH-cam's algorithm that reccomends yt videos based on your liking) that checks what games you play and according to that reccomends you personally some games like a tab (a recommended tab exists on it, but it sucks and reccomends games I literally never touched) in the front page not the whole page.
@@RealAimYT the actual reason why those games are popular is due to the fact that they use predatory methods in order to attract children to their game. A game like this would be either blade ball or pet simulator. These games both have something in common; they promote gambling to kids with wheels in them and making them pay more in order to get their favorite pet, sword, or ability in the game that they like. Another thing is that they use extremely bright colours so that the kids would stay engaged. Thats really the only reason why they're making so much revenue: it's just because roblox is a platform dominated by kids so their focus is going to be on kids if they want to actually make revenue. This wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for what I just said, which is again, how they use predatory practices to make kids go on their game. For the other thing you said on how alot of quality games are a work in progress, not EVERY single game is a quality game coming out. Most are either cash grab, p2w, or just a bandit beater. Overall tho, this is just how I see it as it is right now. No offense btw
Roblox truly needs fix their discovery page, i know that the algorithm is designed for maximilizating profits short-term, but i think it's not ideal for roblox pushing just games that have no quality value, and rewarding greed and predatory monetizazion, which destroying Roblox reputation in long-term, aswell promoting oversaturation of the platform with same recycled games, that one day will become collectivly boring, that can lead roblox gradually loose it's active user-base. By implementing more democratical algorith to promote any sense of game, simmilar what tik-tok does, where it promotes any type of content to you, and you aren't stuck with already established names, then Roblox can profit in long-term, and it can create better PR for roblox for outsiders. I personally like Roblox, but changes needs to be done, so everyone can profit, not just already established elites or people who creates alts to just pump cash grabs, that ofc gets the most money out of roblox, with no or less efford.

the reason people say that "Old roblox is better" is because back then people were trying to make the best games possible there was a much difrent mentality when it came to games but now most the front page games are shameless cash grabs after shameless cash grabs there is also the social and community aspect which is a difrent story but simply put it was much less toxic and over saturated

the thing with roblox "stealing" from devs is somewhat true, because yes they do make creating games much easier, but they are taking like 75% of the profits from games because of the devex exchange rate and 30% tax

I think people who say "I miss old roblox" actually wanna say that they miss the starting time lines or a specific timeline of their favorite games for example YBA in 2020 and AUT in 2021, These two games were really good at these timelines but now after lots of updates and changes they've lost their original value and thus people also stopped playing them and of course a lot of us have grown up and gotten responsibilities, even myself who used to love playing roblox, now barely has time for it. And also of course the furry stuff that crawled up everyone misses the time when we didn't have to deal with lots of Pedos and cringe stuff lurking around. Now it feels like the "Ideal Audience" of roblox has been mixed up with some bad influencers and roblox genuinely wants it for money. Because pedos would spend more money on grooming which helps them make money.

Roblox is boring because majority of people can't find games that they like. A simple fix for this would be bringing back the genre select so you can play a genre of a game that you would like. Now that they removed it though, EVERYONE is forced to play games optimized for kids unless you have a extension
