We plan to keep publishing more to this "Top Lists" series, and hopefully throughout the coming months, we'll get through most of the retro consoles! Which console would you like to see next? 😊
Still would like to see your review of this console. I plan to get this next! A console I should have gotten to start with but knew nothing about: Black Console, White Console and Micro SD Cartridge Accessories retrogamepi.com/products/2020-lcl-raspberry-pi-gba-game-console retrogamepi.com/products/2020-lcl-raspberry-pi-gba-game-console?variant=32420655136847 retrogamepi.com/products/2020-lcl-raspberry-pi-gba-game-console?variant=32440622809167
Metal Gear Solid (Ghost Babel) would be in my top 5. I'd go for Pokemon Crystal instead of gold/silver. Great list. Can't wait for the GBA and other retro consoles.
Dragon Warrior Monsters was my first Dragonquest game and BLEW my mind as a kid who was obsessed with Pokemon. Me and all my friends couldnt believe how amazing it was and this game created a lifelong love of the Dragonquest series.
I had a little play of that Tomb Raider, It was pretty good, and I loved the detail in the movement. I was blown away by this version if Link awakening, a game that was already great made better. After Red and Blue, I skipped out on Gold and Silver, I will be revisiting those. Thanks again for a great upload👍🔥
I'm getting a Gameboy color to mod and it should get here next week, appreciate the video mate, I know several good titles in other consoles but I've no idea of gbc games. That tomb raider reminds me of a phone game I used to play on my old Nokia too 😅
God I spent so many hours playing Pokémon pinball!!! This is an incredibly addictive game yet this is one of those games that after I put hours and hours into I was left with a feeling of nothing having been accomplished.
Great list and I really like your video but the sound quality could be a bit better (not sure if you need a new microphone for that) and going forward try to sound a little more natural in your approach. You can clearly hear that you are reading up from a paper 😊 Not hating, just want you to improve your content cause I really like this channel!
A lot of interesting picks in this list -- I appreciate bringing TCG and DWN a little bit of shine! Just added IPS screens to my GBC and GBA, so I'm enjoying Crystal for the first time right now as a palatte cleanser between Ages/Seasons. Great picks!
I'd like to see a list of gbc and gb classic games that are 'under rated' or forgotten games that are worth buying like the star trek games and others to expand your collection
You're making me feel old. I grew up with the original gameboy. The one before the color. So you don't know the struggle of playing games in the car with only street lights to light the game screen.
I grew up with Commodore 64. When NES came out it was amazing and then when I saw my friend play Super Mario World on his SNES I questioned if I am awake or if I am dreaming what future will be like in 50 years. I had to get SNES after that.
Than you for this video. The transparent cartridges had some very ambitious games for the console. The demakes like DKC or Rayman, the real-time gimmick of Pokemon crystal, the accelerometer in Kirby tilt n tumble, the voice acting in Perfect Dark,...
I liked metal gear solid game for the gbc. It was pretty long game for the gbc and pretty fun. I also enjoyed the gbc game. WIsh they made a trading card game for the newer Nintendo with the newer cards and keep the rpg gameplay. The online site was alright, but after the beta i found out you still gotta buy the cards. Ill be picking up Kirby tilt and tumble and install a new batter inside when i get the analogue pocket.
Nice list, I've never bothered with the Pokémon trading cards game but might seek it out and give it a world. Gold/Silver.. I absolutely loved these two and yes, objectively they are much better than Gen1... But I think my nostalgia makes me prefer the first gen. And I'd have put Metal Gear Solid into the list as well. Push the GBC to its limit. Great story, graphics and extras.
I really don't think ports should count. Like, imagine saying "Minecraft is the best 3DS game." Like, yeah, but that shouldn't really count, you should count games exlucive or started on the system you're covering
What would really be nice is if someone or some company would create and give us new GB, GBC, GBA, NES, MD and SNES game titles! In both the form of new cartridges and roms.
Surprised to not see Metal Gear Solid on this list, it’s so good. I’m glad that the Oracle games made it number 1 though, well deserved! Great video!!!
Don't like being that guy but everyone i've spoken to about the best Gameeboy and Gameboy Advance games, they've always included Metal Gear Ghost Babel and Wario Land 3 in their lists. In fact, I would say those two games alone are far better games than some of the games you've mentinoed in your top ten list. It's like making a top ten jrpg list and not including Chrono Trigger. Another example? Top ten Super Nintendo games and not including Super Mario World. That's how important those two games are in the Gameboy Color Library.
If you have not played Link's Awakening yet? Once you do, you will emotionally moved and will not want to end the story not after meeting "Little Mairan". First I beat it I was torn too.
@@RetroDodo The GBA has a version of Ubisoft Scrabble as well! Though, the GBC version is surprisingly more detailed, clear and more challenging when it comes to the CPU opponents. Overall, the GBC has a better version of Ubisoft Scrabble than the GBA. *It will also be very interesting to see your top 10 GBA as well!
10. Japanese Pokemon Green 9. Links Awakening 8. Tetris 7. Blue and Red 6. Super Mario Bros Deluxe 5. Zelda Oracle of Ages 4. Dragon Warrior monsters 3. Pokemon Yellow 2. Pokemon Gold and Silver 1. Pokemon Crystal
GBC era was really amazing so many bangers! My personal favourite was DQM I think I spent hundreds of hours into this game. Some more recommendations not on your list: Lufia, DQ3 and DBZ legendary super warrior
Pokemon gold/silver marked an era. It was before and after. Was able to put nintendo sales so high in the sky that no one dared to think/talk about another game company making their own pocket console, don't get me wrong gameboy color had such sucess by itself, but pokemon gold and silver made nintendo devs look like gods, was that high the sucess that almost a decade later they decided to remaster the two games, and guess what, they made millions of that as well. Back in the day, pokemon Gold and Silver were so legendary that it was a must for every kid owning a gameboy color to have one or both.
Pokemon Pinball is my favorite GBC game. Its alot of fun and very good for a simple pinball game. I definetly recommend it. I normally dont like Pinball and Im also not a big Pokemon fan, but I still like Pokemon Pinball
Odd list. Also, why is there 0 mention of Super Mario Bros Deluxe screen crunch? It's done way too extensive, resulting in blind jumps, which is especially as good as unplayable when playing The Lost Levels. The GBC has much better games than this great but flawed Super Mario Bros package. Also, no Shantae?
i got a truly massive high score on pokemon pinball of 4.8B and a massive amount of extra pokeballs (25+) and the mewtwo bonus stage can give out 1B points per run
Mario Golf was one of my favourites. I dug out by GBC and popped it in the other day, it still has my battery backed up saves from 20+ years ago. How is that even possible?
My gb games would have to be the ones that I played the most as a kid. Pokémon silver, Pokémon soul silver, mega man battle network white advance which I never beat I think, Pokémon tcg, those are the only that o can remember right now even though I know I had more games
I think DK 1994 should edge out DKC for original GB. Mostly because DKC was basically portable snes on GBA and DK 1994 was a crazy unexpected hit for GB.
Pokemon? meh. Not my thing. Otherwise a good list. I just don't see the deal with Pokemon. It's just similiar games with Pokemon that aren't in the other games. Played one played them all. Just haven't captured them all. If you're looking for a driving game top gear rally/2, and no megaman :(
I was hopeful that they would remake season and ages because they remade link’s awakening because it’s the same link that you play in all four games, link to the past, links awakening and both seasons and ages.
Too much Pokemon titles... and where is Pokemon Crystal instead Silver and Gold? And Oracle of Seasons along Ages... No Alone in the Dark, Wario Land 3, Mario Tennis, Mega Man Xtreme, Mr. Driller, Bionic Commando, Perfect Dark, Crystalis, Lufia: The Legend Returns, R-Type DX, Dragon Warrior I & II & III, Shantae, Tetris DX.... your top 10 sucks.
I generally prefer action/adventure games. I don't care for those battle games where you and an opponent trade hits. That's not realistic. You don't fight anyone by taking turns hitting each other. Probably, my most loved series is the Legend of Zelda.
I recently got an EZ-Flash for my Gameboy Micro, and loaded all GB, GBC, GBA and NES games onto it. Looking for decent games to play because there are hundreds of mediocre ones.
Unfortunately I think The pokemon games Gold/Silver/Crystal would have to be #1. That series literally is what got the gameboy color into so many peoples hands. That series was the the Gameboy colors foundation. Go look at the sales numbers for just those three games, not including RGY and pinball. The pokemon games cover the top of sold copies, and pokemon in general having near 80 million copies sold which is more than tetris and Mario combined lol

So happy seeing it on this list! So underrated and one of my all time favorite games!
Wario Land 3 is way too underrated
That's in our top 50 for sure. A great game indeed!
@@RetroDodo Please put a top 50 on your website. Your website is awesome!
My thoughts exactly.
One of my favorites on GB color. Played the crap out of that game
Garbage game
Perfect timing, I just finished restoring a GameBoy and was looking for stuff to play on it.
i’m so glad you put pokemon tcg on here, i still adore it and it’s how i started playing the tcg in real life ❤️
🧡❤
I always collected the cards IRL but never understood how to play, that is til I picked up TCG wish I had learned all those years ago
Like these videos. Would appreciate a GBA, N64 and PS1/PSP list.
(GBA most)
Noted!
Link's awakening is the best in my opinion
I LOVED the Pokémon trading card game!! So great to see it make the list!
Same here!

I kinda expected Pokémon Crystal in 2nd place, since it's an improved version of Silver/Gold.
Yeah I agree on this statement!
Yeah, Crystal is way better and has animated sprites
@@victorguerrero4461 that was cool to see as it was a first for the series
Wtf
Eh. Gold and Silver were better.

"The Mushroom Kingdom is in uproar after King Bowser uses his Dark Magic to turn its Citizens into Blocks"

Great idea! Would appreciate this kind of series for N64, SNES, NES and NDS! Thanks DoDo!!
Pokémon TCG was awesome!
I remember I had that game when I still couldn't read a lot and enjoyed it a lot.
I'd like to see a list of gbc and gb classic games that are 'under rated' or forgotten games that are worth buying like the star trek games and others to expand your collection
Nice, finally someone to include Dragon Quest/Warrior Monsters, the best handheld game ever in my opinion. Thanks. :)
Great video. I was just about to make myself a top 10 list of all consoles.
Great idea
I played Mario Bros Deluxe sooo much. Those Boo races man... also Wario Land 3 and PKMN TCG.
It’s amazing how far graphics have come! I was raised on the DS and Wii, and am shocked by these games 😂
You're making me feel old. I grew up with the original gameboy. The one before the color. So you don't know the struggle of playing games in the car with only street lights to light the game screen.

Great to hear!

We need someone who can speak more broadly on that subject of newer games for old consoles. it's interesting!
Yup. Zelda Oracles win my #1 too. Nothing comes even close to its/their awesomeness. My fav Zelda game. Yes, even OoT and LTTP.
Shantae, Pokémon Silver, Marioland 2 and Kid Icarus are my favourites
Shantae is an amazing game, it was a tough one not to add it into the top 10! Thanks for watching. :)
Oh yes, Kid Icarus is a good game too.
Shantae should be in every top 10 ;) it's a top notch game.
Can’t wait to get the limited run release of it!

Gold/Silver/Crystal where good cause you got almost all the blue/red/green content at the end as a bonus :) thats the best thing about them

4. Dragon Warrior monsters
