We climbed Gros Morne this summer (just as a storm rolled in off the Gulf of St Lawrence), hiked other trails in the park, visited fishing villages around Gander (my wife’s cousin lives there), took the ferry to St Pierre et Miquelon (stayed overnight), and saw dolphins and puffins near St John’s. What a beautiful place NL is. Thanks for your spectacular video.
Gorgeous video! My friend and I finished the Long Range Traverse about 2 weeks ago. It was our first time doing such a trek. It took us much longer than 3 days. 6 days 5 nights. It was the hardest but most amazing ever. 2 full days of rain (one day was a tropical storm) and we kept pushing thru. We have learned a lot and already planing next year’s trip in the US. 😊
Long Haul - YeeHa here! Just saw this. Didn’t want it to end! SO cool that you and your gal went to Newfoundland! You are fortunate to be tall or you may have disappeared in a bog! Good on you!
Thank you. I would say regardless of age, it depends on what kind of shape you're in. It is a pretty hard hike for the mileage. The first day was the easiest day to navigate, but had the most vertical gain, thus was physically demanding. The next couple of days were slightly easier terrain, but much harder navigation. I would recommend downloading the map onto your phone. I did not, and got lost multiple times. So, I guess I would summarize by saying that it's a hard hike, but if you are in great shape and experienced with multi-day trips, give it a go!!
Thank you! You are supposed to. I obtained a Canadian drone pilot license first, then applied for a special use permit for the park itself. I did not hear back from them about the permit until I had returned home. I will not risk it again and would limit my flying to permitted areas.
Hey Michael! Man! Another great video and Candice is in it! Yeah!! She is quite a trooper! That is some awesome scenery but man...I just hate all those rocks!! Looks like Rocksylvania on the AT.. and those bogs! What a hoot..couldn't help but notice the bug net too! You will need to borrow that net when you section hike the 100 mile wilderness just before Katahdin ...thanks for posting this...it's another great production on your part..good music...good video and very enjoyable for me! PS when did you do this?

Congratulations. It is such an incredible trek. Sounds like your accomplishment has inspired you to do more!! Happy Trails.
Looks like a great trip! That view down the valley is incredible.
Thanks for watching, Wayne. Great riding with you this weekend!

Let's get on a trip. I'm heading out for a 2-nighter on 11/11. Let's go!
Really enjoyed your video...do you think that 2 old hikers in their 70's could do it?
Thank you.

@@whistlepig Thank you for your encouraging reply.
Great experience and video. Did you need to obtain a permit for the drone shots?
Thank you!

@@whistlepig good to know, thanks! It’s a shame how strict drone law are for such beautiful locations like this.

Oh, the bogs!! Dry feet are not an option here.
Inspiring video - maybe tone down the music...
@@zeldathewelder I appreciate the feedback. Happy trails!
