Fingers - I liked the Rat first, Pick - I liked the sansamp first! aha Great video though :) I'm considering buying a Rat for my rig, and I have the SansAmp VT bass DI so this video is ideal. I run a BOSS LS2 so have the clean/low end preserved there, but am in the eternal search for the right grit pedal to cut through and give me that aggressive tone. Seems like with these two pedals combined you could get a great gritty bass tone for rock and metal? Have you used the Rat like this in a gig situation?
Try running something like a line selector. It let's you run two signals at the same time so you can run your dry signal with your dirty signal at the same time
Men it surprises me how good it sound!
Rat first and sans amp sound almost like a high blended darkglass
Yeah, Rat into the SansAmp, sounds like the best of the combinations, the SansAmp retrieves some of the low end.
His clean tone is sick to start with lol
Your getting into Tool's Justin Chancellor territory! Just need to blend the rat with your dry signal. Nice demo!
The Rat into the Sansamp seems to be ideal. The Rat gets calmed down by the Sansamp
plus you can still use the EQ on the sansamp to shape to overall sound
Wasn’t sure I wanted a sans amp but this made the choice easier
Awesome demo. \m/ I personally like how the sansamp first and the pro co rat after sounds. it sounds smooth and heavy.
Thanks !! :D
Great test/comparison, thank for your help. Liked and Subscribed 🙏🏻👍🏻🙂
Awesome!
Wow now i want a rat. I have a sansamp and like to run it as distortion with the blend all the way up (or very close)
DarkGlass Alpha/Omega is similar but sound better in my opinion, and it has a blend knob which is a big deal maker.
RAT -> SansAmp feels like with more low end but RAT after SansAmp sounds more like... RAT!!

I also made this video and loved Rat again. :)
I usually use [STOMPROX BLACK LABEL FOR BASS].
This is made in Japan and very nice sound!!
same same
Is there anything that sounds like the RAT but has a dry mix knob?

Yes! try the Peper's Pedals' Rad-X
the jam pedals rattler-bass version.
MXR Bass Distortion
Lusithand Devices now has a pedal and I run it into my SansAmp (BDDI or YYZ). My favorite tone so far.
compare apple and oranges next video 😊
