China does not stop Vietnam and provided boats to Vietnam. because they are both communist. China can accept Vietnam taking larger part of the SCS at the expense of Philippines' claim.

They deployed 400k Soilders to help prepare for the evacuation rescue operations, offer aid to peoples affected and credits for businesses as well. After 3 weeks everything was pretty much back to normal, aside from a few industrial plants in the North. I understand your view and sentiment, that this government is without flaws. But seeing Vietnam developing Strategic partnerships with 4 Global superpowers while simultaneously uplifting hundreds of thousands of people from poverty does show competency

We might have won that war and regained all those islands, but what would have happened next would have been far more dangerous. I guess it’s because Vietnam recently didn’t follow US’ orders and WSJ started to expose what Vietnam did for a long time in the South China Sea.
