Thanks for the positive vibes Brad, they are a great all round bike and I like a bike that offers flexibility rather than a narrow focus. I assume you have one so stay safe and Subscribe 👌
@@CompleteRider yes I do own one. It's a 2001 Gen 1 and I love it. I recently purchased it from the original owner with only 7000k on the clock. Looks as good as the day it was taken out of the crate.
I have a 2001 UK....the fastest model I think they were released in UK in 2003 and they are fast mine was dropped a few time so I cut it in half lowered the seat so you are sitting low behind the tank, took out the air box to make room for the seat and went all out rat and with all the weight removed the thing is a rocket
Hey Henrik good to hear yo are happy with it, I know a heap of riders that just love these things. I want one but the Ninja 1000SX is probably at the top of my list! Check out that video. Stay safe.
@@CompleteRider Yeah Ninja 1000 SX is high up on my list too. If I ever change it probably would be that one. But the shaft drive is very convenient on the FJR... If the 1000 SX would come with a shaft drive, it would be great.
Have wondered the exact same thing from Kawi- The 1000SX could grab a pretty hefty piece of the market with Shaft drive I think.. not sure if the GTR1400 shaft would fit the bill bc of specs/wheel base maybe... but its a great shaft drive system and id sure be more inclined toward the SX if it were shaft drive
Nope, I did have a mate who had an auto one brand new. Dam thing kept cutting out mid corner. Had no clutch to pull in and just kept leaning over. It scared the he'll out of him. Yamaha Oz couldn't fix it, so he sold it as soon as possible. 😯
😂 Just bought the 2023 and been riding for 40+ years, and didn’t I find myself doing the same thing, in person the sound of this engine is addicting…lol

If you could only ever have one bike .... this is it !!
Totally agree
EXCELLENT REVIEW, AND SPECS, ALL WHAT A REAL LONG RIDER NEEDS TO KNOW.
Classic tourer 's bike! Overall the best bike
I think was a good and fair review of a great bike

A fantastic bike. Bought mine, of the same year model, last year.

@@HenrikGahmberg Yes Henrik, Shaft or belts are great! It's one of the good things about being a 'mature rider' we can get bikes without chains!
Just got mine too.
Love her engine sound and torque feel.

Actually the XS11, is the grandfather of this series. Put 95k on her and was not able to break it.
Good point!
I got a 09 fjr love it but can't get front wheel up in the air my st 1300 did no problem
🤣 Rev it hard enough and dump the clutch, it will come up!👍
Please tell me this is the automatic version. I keep searching for just the automatic review

Just got me one of those. First thing I ditched was the top box. Hideous things.
Yes, I agree but they certainly can carry heaps of shit if you need to. 🤣 Ride safe and Subscribe 👍
Yes top box looks stupid
R P M :D
Why must you free-rev the motor?
I would expect a teen-age idiot of such action; certainly not an experienced rider.

Agree totally, revving engine to limitter is always a sign of total stupidity
