I absolutely love this, I naturally adopted an agnostic view a Long time ago. I used to call it a funny name in my teen years, Xism... The belief in X number of gods because we can't really be certain. What we Can be certain about is that we must help ourselves and those around us, and I totally understand Sadhguru's discussion of lethargy. Amit Trivedi For me it was not about politics. I personally refuse to identify myself with any labels.. This came out of Sadhguru. I didn't consider him as an ordinary person. I had lots of respect for sadhguru.. But I am no longer think about Sadhguru as the same way I did. I don't care whether he apologises or not. He said something like this is enough for me. He was able to come up with such a low level joke which gave me a reason to rethink about Sadhguru. I don't agree with the extreme way of thinking of supposedly " progressive" people.. But Sadhguru's this line was disrespectful . It was belittling another human being.. That kind of thing can happen from an ordinary person like me. But this is Sadhguru who I thought as an enlighten being.. seems like I was wrong.. Disappointed..
What you describe is knowing, not believing. And, Sadhguru does not say that there are things we cannot know - his point is that it’s disastrous to believe things we don’t have clarity on, like things we have not experienced. But he does not deny that there are some things we can know.

Every organization has a narrative and goal that it's members lean on for a sense of meaning and purpose. All of these factions, groups, religions, and organizations have a lifestyle or goal they are promoting or protesting. This bothers me though. In other words they fill in the blanks with assumptions. I did take notice that many of not even most people do not like to admit that they don't know something. The idea is you’ve gone as far as you can go with knowledge but you give your heart to the idea anyway because you believe it’s true. That’s why faith is such a fundamental principle of Abrahamic religions because one gives their heart to God without empirically knowing yet being convinced of his presence can be much stronger than anything that can be proven empirically. Nonetheless I like the overall point Sadhguru’s making that overconfidence without clarity may be destructive.
