My 10yo came home from school and asked, why did the chicken cross the road? Why? To get to the idiots house, he said. About 5 min later he goes, Knock knock. I say who's there and he says... The chicken.....
"13 Votan, a Rattling sniper and a psychic Inquisitor wearing grey." That really got me at the end there 🤣. And mainly because I have everything except the Kroot and the Ratling sniper to make a little diorama of that.
Interesting, my brain then jumped to Gundabad Kroot. Taking T'au models, replace head with beaky helmet and attaching T'au antennae to back of helmet to recreate Kroot head in helmet form. Paint up with Gundabad Orc inspiration, and while using normal T'au rules, they would be the Pale Kroot's elite rifles.
I went for a similar style for my Kill Team, heavily inspired by the creatures in the film Pandorum! (My spaceship-bound space cannibals painted like spaceship-bound space cannibals was a very original idea 😉)
The finished Kroot with all the details looks excellent. I was thinking about going for an Alien or Predator vibe for my Kroot army. Green happens to be my favorite color.
Azog inspired Kroot leader looks awesome, that could be an idea for up coming Kroot Kill Team in the near future. The resin rock made him stand out well on the base, really good. I have painted a half-kitbash Militarum Tempestus Scion Kill Team in the colour scheme of a commando team from an anime tv show.
Hi Duncan, saw you at Salute 2024 last weekend. I was going to say hello but there always seemed to be a queue of people waiting to talk to you. So I missed out. You must be doing something right! Keep up the great video's. 😊
@@DuncanRhodesDRPA I can imagine it would have spikes with the impaled bodies of both Rebels and a few dead Ewoks as revenge for the loss at the battle of Endor. Also it would be cool to see the iconic white/light grey armor covered in blood, grime, some Chaos-y symbol and other decorative pieces
Great paint job - it would be awesome if you could do a video how to paint squads of Kroot using contrast or speed paints. Maybe you can do that for the Skaven when the next edition of AOS comes out.
I love your tutorials, but I can't always tell the Citadel equivalent to your colors - it would be very cool if you told that in the videos. I've been using Ctadel since I started painting and I'm having a hard time switching over completely.
Great guide like always. Was wondering if you have any admech guides on thus channel? I know they was on gw tv back in the day but would be cool to see some upto date ones with two thin paints and maybey any new minis mised.
I like the comment at the end about the inspiration from Predator; are you alluding to that Golden Demon kroot with the Predator fangs, and hook hand? It also had pale skin. This skin technique would work well on vampires

This pale kroot skin color is actually going to be super helpful for painting vampires! Thanks for the video!
You bet!
The Pale Kroot sound like a quaint pub in Cambridgeshire
It sure does lol

The ending got me. Well done!

Ah you are making me want to paint some kroot! Lovely job, sir.
Thank you! Cheers!

That came out amazing. Great job as always.
Thank you so much 😊
This is very weird inspiration but i really like it. Nice work duncan and crew ❤️
That knife hand is very badass.
Thanks for the video! Excellent conversion!
Our pleasure!

Hey Duncan! Like the ears! Gives me somewhere to park my brush.

Thats really cool i like the inspiration ideas thank you for the ideas!! 😊
Im stealing this to do the skin for my dark eldar and no one can stop me!

If I may make suggestion for you to make a video on, I'd like to see you convert and paint up a Chaos-corrupted AT-ST
That would be fun

That's interesting paint scheme, but can you do pastel colour scheme?
10/10 on the execution.

Great suggestion!
So, this kroot's eaten one too many snowmen? I do like 'im.
If I wasn't already painting my Kroot like Penguins, I would so do this color scheme.
I printed out Sautekh Dynasty characters. What paints from your range are the best to use?

We have a paint conversion chart on our website here: www.duncanrhodes.com/ttc-paints/ Just scroll down :-)
Just google "two thin coats citadel conversion", they have a chart on their website.

Very good work young man. Keep up the hard work and you might make something of this model painting gig one day.
Any chance for another Battletech tutorial soon? Would love to see one of the Jade Falcon schemes.
Going to have to do something g like this.
Thank you , DRPA .
(Really , Thump that "Joke" teller , Thanks ,)
🐺Loupis Canis .
Thank you 🐺🐺🐺
For Pech ! For Vawk !
Can we get some more Black Templars tutorials for my upcoming crusade? I’m sure the Emperor would be pleased.
Cool 🖌
How is lord of the rings an "unexpected" source of inspiration here :D.
An unexpected source 👏
😉 touche
Neat, though I prefer the slightly more blue-greyish rendition from the Warcom preview.
I like the comment at the end about the inspiration from Predator; are you alluding to that Golden Demon kroot with the Predator fangs, and hook hand? It also had pale skin. This skin technique would work well on vampires
No, haven't seen that one. I bet it looks awesome!
Ooooh id love to paint this as my skin tone for my beastmen....i just got another 2000 points of them... Might as well try something new
first ! 😅 (so proud of myself - not of my pile of shame)
Yahoo!!!!! Embrace the pile of shame!
Hi, i really love your videos, but im not into warhammer, could you show some more fallout, star wars, bolt action, mech or malifaux painting please ?
Wonder if i can speed process with a Brown/Red contrast
What paint brush are you using to do all that fine precise details and stuff for the scars?
That'll be a size 00 Artis Opus brush
@@DuncanRhodesDRPA thank you! Your brush control and technique is amazing. I think I keep messing up brushes do to bad techniques.
Please do a legion of the damned video #oldhammer !!!
Can you paint a model from the Power Rangers miniature game?
Azog?
I am Kroot.
People can still afford warhammer?!
We can’t, but we’ve been addicts for years. Can’t turn back now.
Not really 😢
But there is a pile of shame to be proud of
Well Duncan can afford it by extorting money out of me in exchange for coloured goop.
@@foxbat51 no, just good paint.
I wish. The only games I can afford right now are ASOIAF and Crisis Protocol
Bolt Action! GW is gone away with fairies withe prices.
