He may have gotten off the hook if he had played dumb, apologized, said he was sorry and didn't understand the rules concerning the fire department & was trying to do a good deed, and not have mouthed off. I don't know how many times he had been called in prior for warnings. Companies just hate confrontational people. Many companies have strict rules concerning being late and leaving early. It can really suck. So try not to work for companies like that. He also should have asked permission to leave early to see if it was allowed. I'm not sure if they got mad at him for opening the doors early. Maybe it is an insurance concern if people are inside the building early. If there had been a fire & he opened the building for them, maybe they would have thanked him instead.

Yeah, in that case the Fire Marshall is his Boss, not the Principal. You see she didn't put it on them, because its a major violation to prevent them access, so she decided to hit him with an attendance violation. Unfortunately he left early, since he cannot make his own hours, and gave her the opportunity she had been looking for the entire time he was there. She waited until he left, and then staged a need for his presence. He made the mistake of not learning from previous negative experiences and gave his enemy the upper hand. Sorry Bruh, but its too late to yell harassment after you've made a move, valid for termination. Gotta play your cards better than that, been there done that.
