+MadBros could be a 3D plane in a software such as Maya with a texture applied to it or just a CGI room created in that software or a similar one. you could do the same with after effects and just put the background as a different layer behind the actor. though you'd need Photoshop too to create the background layer in.
just to clarify the purple man dosent use telephaty, he uses pheromones which are active when near to the purple man, the more exposure to it , the stronger its the effect

I'm not even sure about this, but I feel like in the Netflix Jessica Jones series, they're gonna ignore her powers and focus more on her investigative journalism and her being a skilled detective. Probably to give the show more realism, I guess.

+Kyyp3r Radioactive stuff when the writers want it to, can give superpowers, so just assume that the stuff wouldn't normally give powers.
+Kyyp3r I think it's heavily implied that the chemicals themselves aren't what give them powers but the trauma triggers some dormant abilities in them
