I’m actually surprised you haven’t done a history of the X-Men for a long while. These were my first superheroes and easily the ones that I got into comics and the 90’s cartoon
Days of Future Past was an excellent Xmen Story. I think Days of Future Past might be my favorite Xmen film. The 90’s run of The Xmen was also a huge part of my childhood and how can you not love the 90’s Xmen cartoon series. I also have to agree that The Xmen have one of the richest lore and history in all of comics.
So, quick fact check: Contrary to popular belief, the X-Men were not named after Xavier, but for the e"X"tra power they have as mutants, as was stated by Xavier in X-Men #1.
Me too if they do they should start with the original X-Men and they should really focus on Angel as much as Wolverine I mean the dudes rich for one and his family was behind the whole cure for mutants thing and the dude lost his wings because they were damaged so bad in the fight they were forced to amputated then got his skin turned blue and was given metal wings by Apocalypse and was one of his horsemen for awhile until he eventually turned good and they were was a whole arc about him called the Dark Angel Saga.
@I i agree. Xmen is dark chocolate, while mcu is cotton candy. The destruction began with jennifer lawrence and that xwoman crap. How come the insecure feminists dont question the bible to put us out of our misery.
@I i didnt mean "jlaw" ruined anything. I meant the scene she was placed in. Well she did inadvertently ruined it cause of the success she had. Mystique is a lower tier villain compared to magneto and apocslypse. She is not an antihero as the movie portrayed her. Thats why rebecca romjin didnt have any lines. That scene was meant to be taken seriously. And some women actually aplauded it. Its not a throwback to 90s girl power. Its current female insecurities that mcu and xmen are trying to take advantage of (make money), with captain marvel and mystique. I think they came to their senses cause mystique is dead and there are no capt marvel (fingers crossed) movies planned
@I another case in point. Look at black widow and wonder woman. Both characters kicked men's butts (wonder woman shoved batman like he was a doll) without belittling, or insulting men. (Black widow insulted villains who happened to be men, but not the gender as a whole)
@I mcu made spidernan looked like a weak snivelling kid that needs to be "baby sat" by a bunch of women. So glad he is leaving the mcu. Spiderman deserves better. Also glad black widow wasnt in that scene. Sorry for the rant. Men do that too you know.
BROOOO THAT PRODUCT PLACEMENT WAS GLORIOUS!!!!!!!! and great vid I've been trying to get into the X-Men comic but tbh until now I had absolutely no idea what was going on in any of the aspects of the universe and now I know where to start
Pardon me, but the Phoenix saga was NOT about "Jean Grey being possessed by the Phoenix Force." That was a later retcon. (I personally believe the original story was much, much better.) Originally the story was about Marvel Girl (Jean Grey) sacrificing herself for her team mates, and being hit by cosmic rays, (the same type of rays as affected the Fantastic Four (and the U-Foes)) (intentionally drawn the exact same way the Fantastic Fours original cosmic rays were drawn) and getting a power boost because of it. (They were answering the question, how would cosmic rays affect a mutant.) It was also a reference to the adage, "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." (At least that's my humble opinion. Apologies, I'll get off my soap box now.) As always, thank you so very much for your marvelous video.
Wait so this channel has been going on for so long and there’s never been a history of the X-men before Awesome, answer in the first minute even he was surprised
The definitive X-Men team for me would be: Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, Emma Frost, Iceman, Angel, Havok, Sunspot, Banshee, Thunderbird, Bishop, and Forge
Could you get more into detail of the Blue and Gold X-Men teams plz? Also some good reads for both teams cuz they're really starting to grab my attention
I remember watching reruns of the 90s cartoon in the mid-last 2000s were Jubilee automatically became my favorite character. Sucks I don’t see much people talking about her

The X-Men are my favorite superheroes in marvel comics and I heard that Disney+ is going to revive the series from the 1990's and start making new episodes. My favorite X-man is nightcrawler I just love how he can teleport from one area to another.
Could you do an origin story on The Black Knight? A recent article on av news announced that Kit Harington will star in a future marvel movie and will play as Dane Whitman aka The Black Knight.
Your favorite storylines are great, and truely your opinion. Although you forgot to mention a couple key lines. X-tinction Agenda was a great storyline and crossover in the 90's.
He doesn't mention one of the most important aspects of the xmen that it was created as an alagory of the Civil rights movement with prof x representing mlk and magneto representing Malcom x
Not true. There was no civil rights stuff until Claremont in the 70s/80s. Stan Lee just made an unsuccessful team that just so happened to be picked up later and made great. They were just a team made out of a demand for more super hero comics.
My X-Men recommendations: The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix, Age of Apocalypse, Age of X, Nightcrawler miniseries by Dave Cockrum, Magik miniseries, and Phoenix Endsong.

But if you're about 15 years olderand grew up reading Bronze age and early Iron Age stuff (and buying back issues of Silver Age comics with your lawn mowing money), this concept is rather foreign. I quit collecting ca. 1992 and every time I take a minute to see what went on after that, I don't regret my choice.
I have no idea how in 6 years, you guys STILL have a stunning lack of Darkseid content 🤦🏽♂️
Cmon guys... DARKSEID
Darkseid is that great? I'm actually a comic reader and haven't ran into any comics of him for the cheap
mark elkhatib damn that sucks, he needs more spotlight for sure
mark elkhatib I forgot to say Darkseid is that great. He pretty much inspired Thanos, so I’m serious disappointed that Darkseid hasn’t got any love in awhile even tho he’s universally considered one of the greatest villains ever
Andreas Mohr I really like Ironside as Darkseid that’s not bad, I just hope his voice is deeper and more menacing tho
Think of it like this: name 10 villains better that Darkseid? You can’t do it, and I’m not just being biased even tho Darkseid and Deathstroke are my 2 favorite villains, but Darkseid should be on anyone and everyone’s list of the the top 10 or even top 5 super villains of all-time
You could say Spider-Man and the xmen are the best marvel stories of all time
I was shocked that you haven't done a history of X-men video, that's crazy
11 ig, great video arris, my top ten comics from the xmen would be
10.Giant sized xmen
9.God loves man kills
8.Fatal attraction
7.X-Men #1
6.Age of apocalypse
5.New X-Men
4.Days of future past
3.Astonishing X-Men (gifted)
2.Xmen first class/season 2
1.Dark phoniex saga
This video should have been called History Of X-Men Comics
I’m actually surprised you haven’t done a history of the X-Men for a long while. These were my first superheroes and easily the ones that I got into comics and the 90’s cartoon
The Jim Lee designs are my favorite.
Where is the update on all the Disney plus shows @VariantComics, Podcast?? 😀😀
So, quick fact check: Contrary to popular belief, the X-Men were not named after Xavier, but for the e"X"tra power they have as mutants, as was stated by Xavier in X-Men #1.
X men. Hope they are in the MCU now
Me too if they do they should start with the original X-Men and they should really focus on Angel as much as Wolverine I mean the dudes rich for one and his family was behind the whole cure for mutants thing and the dude lost his wings because they were damaged so bad in the fight they were forced to amputated then got his skin turned blue and was given metal wings by Apocalypse and was one of his horsemen for awhile until he eventually turned good and they were was a whole arc about him called the Dark Angel Saga.
Another trio of good stories for Xmen was the first Proteus story, the mutant massacre and the fall of the mutants.
Oh my gosh! A Darker than Black fan! That's one of my favourite anime series too! 😍😍😍😍😃
Jim Lee's XMEN art is untouchable, the best...
can you still buy the art comic to this day?
BROOOO THAT PRODUCT PLACEMENT WAS GLORIOUS!!!!!!!! and great vid I've been trying to get into the X-Men comic but tbh until now I had absolutely no idea what was going on in any of the aspects of the universe and now I know where to start
Listen y'all I know patience is a virtue but I've been waiting for this video for five years and unless you're a new suscriber so have you
Zo Bell I’ve been here for 4 and I feel ur pain. I’ve even spent like a half hour each on multiple occasions to make sure I have never missed it
Stan Lee is such a genius. "X"can have so many meanings.
My dreams come true
Apologies, I'll get off my soap box now.)
As always, thank you so very much for your marvelous video.
Marvel, give us a flying rogue and cajun Gambit movie. Make it Rated R😍
Riff And Run 😂

Wait so this channel has been going on for so long and there’s never been a history of the X-men before
Awesome, answer in the first minute even he was surprised
The definitive X-Men team for me would be:
Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Jubilee, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, Emma Frost, Iceman, Angel, Havok, Sunspot, Banshee, Thunderbird, Bishop, and Forge
Could you do a history of the justice society of America
I love your channel! Keep on the good work!
Great video. I'm surprised you guys never made an X-Men video before though.
Could you get more into detail of the Blue and Gold X-Men teams plz? Also some good reads for both teams cuz they're really starting to grab my attention
Please do a history of doctor doom I'm surprised you haven't done that
He is one of the best villains in comics.
@@cisko2015 he is a forgotten character who needs to make a comeback
@@recommendedforyou2936 he should be the main villain in phase 4 and 5
I remember watching reruns of the 90s cartoon in the mid-last 2000s were Jubilee automatically became my favorite character. Sucks I don’t see much people talking about her
Arris, do a list of worst comic book stories for DC and Marvel respectively.
Brotherman I just watched a video you done like 8 years ago and I'm always impressed by your commentment and experience with comics especially your own comic keep it up yo!!!
Id prefer if the X-men first introduced in the MCU was the classic 60s lineup
Me too..but then people will complain about the lack of wolverine
I'm digging this new X-Men series too! Digging a hole to throw the first issues of HOX/POX in so I can get rid of the regret of buying them!
Not first
Not last
But when I say variant comics post I click fast 🚀
I honestly never knew the X-Men were originally meant to be The Mutants. Now that makes much more sense on why The New Mutants have their name.
GREAT VIDEO. But Gold and Blue teams are now different from the 90's teams
I still think the issue when storm was attacked by Dracula & the annual when kitty was possessed by dracula's daughter were worth mentioning..besides x-men..it started the battle of Dracula vs thor then dr. Strange..then blade became hot again
Imagine if Marvel decided to make a live action TV show instead of an MCU movie
Agents of shield
Xavirick, and the netflix shows, cloak and dagger, and the runaways. giving the benefit of the doubt though he could have been refering to the x-men.
That’s what they’re going to do with Disney streaming
Isn't there an Xmen TV show called Legion?
Members I hope join the MCU:
CYCLOPS
ICEMAN
BEAST
ANGEL
JEAN GREY
HAVOK
BANSHEE
STORM
SUNFIRE
COLOSSUS
SHADOWCAT
ROGUE
GAMBIT
JUBILEE
ARMOR
SIRYN
Stan Lee & Jack Kirby: In Memoriam.
Please do the origin of Azazel (NightCrawler’s Father). Gracias.
Thnx bro! Mind is blown right now how I never knew that. Makes complete sence too
The X-Men are my favorite superheroes in marvel comics and I heard that Disney+ is going to revive the series from the 1990's and start making new episodes. My favorite X-man is nightcrawler I just love how he can teleport from one area to another.
Keep up your vidoes dude you rock can you makke a vidoe about dc lucifer plz
Could you do an origin story on The Black Knight? A recent article on av news announced that Kit Harington will star in a future marvel movie and will play as Dane Whitman aka The Black Knight.
How did you recommend Avengers Vs. X-Men over Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force run!?
Your favorite storylines are great, and truely your opinion. Although you forgot to mention a couple key lines. X-tinction Agenda was a great storyline and crossover in the 90's.
Woo never been this fast at looking at a vid
You could just say that the entire Claremont run is worth a read. There's a reason why he wrote the book for over 10 years.
I love your video do a History of Angel.
90s X-Men were the best hands down. There’s no debate here
Who else here watching after seeing the X-men 97 trailer?
I was about to comment this😅
Just watched ep 1 and 2 of x men 97, it's so dope💯💯
Love this channel. Thanks for all you do Arris, it is much appreciated
