  • Join me in Burnham-On-Sea in Somerset for a walk along the beach to the famous light house, followed by fish and chips in Burnham and a walk in Apex Park.
If you are walking on the beach beware of tides that come in very fast and also quick sand!! I warned about the quick sand in this video and later became a victim of it! Fortunately it was a narrow bit and after a few attempts I managed to haul myself out of it.

Oh my goodness! Thanks so much for the plug ! Much appreciated Louise! Lovely video and it looks warmer that it really was I’m guessing. It’s also funny when you said you were the only person there. I find this a lot and I never understand why more people are not out on a lovely day. That’s the thing about doing a TH-cam channel - it’s get you out to so many amazing places you otherwise wouldn’t go to! By the way - it’s only 9am I am already craving fish and chips now I’ve just seen your lunch. 😋

Thanks Alex! It’s an absolute pleasure to recommend your most excellent channel! 🤗 Watching it brightens up many days in terms of seeing the sunshine and the fantastic content 😊 Haha! There is something about seeing fish and chips that makes me crave it too! I think it was watching a recent video from ‘Walk With Me Tim’ on TH-cam that made me crave fish and chips for days. He was testing out a fish and chip restaurant somewhere near a beach. They looked amazing!

Hi Louise. Just watched this February video. Glad you got out of the quick sand. I will not be quickly planning a visit there but glad that the wind blew away any 🕸🕸🕷🕷

We went too Horner wood yesterday. Unfortunately the wind was too strong to fly. looks like the same at BOS so got some good ground shots need to go back and finish the filming. You visited the best time when the tide is out..🥂🥂🍾

Oh, Horner Wood is lovely. Hope you get some good weather for footage there soon. That would be amazing to see. Yes, it was very blustery in BOS!

Another great tour Louise. Your new microphone has improved the sound quality a lot. Love that little lighthouse! Thanks again, Paul 👍🙂

PS Sorry to hear you lost your wind muffler on your mic. Hopefully, you can just get a replacement. Mine kept coming off too (on my wireless mic) but I now keep it in place with an elastic band! It looks a bit strange, but does the job. Glad you managed to get out of that sinking mud! I think Seaton beach in Devon has some too.

Thank you Paul! That’s a fab idea about using an elastic band. Mine is a wireless one too and I was thinking that I might secure one with a elastic band. I will definitely try that now, knowing that it works for you 😊

@@SouthWestSundays No problem! I can't take credit for it, because I was given the advice from another TH-camr. Mine is the Rode Wireless Go mic - I also have another Rode which sits on top of my camera. The other thing I do is I attach the wireless mic to a lanyard around my neck, just in case the mic slips off the little clip that attaches to your clothing/coat lapel. The other useful tip I have learnt is to play around with the mic settings and the cameras/phone/GoPro settings. I now put it in Manual Sound record mode in my camera, and turn the record level down slightly, but increase the volume, where necessary, when I am doing the editing. It is best to try different settings out before you are on a shoot/ recording project because all camera/phone/microphone, and your own voice, combinations are unique. Hope this helps! You're doing great Louise.

      Thank you Paul!
Loads of really useful suggestions in there! I will definitely look into doing some of those.
I have a Synco wireless mic. The receiver plugs into my phone and like the Rhode one The transmitter clips on to clothing. I like the lanyard idea. I recently got a gimbal for my phone as I tend to use that more than my camera, so having lots of fun getting to grips with that too 😊

What a fantastic beach & lighthouse. I bet it took you ages to get the squidgy sand off your boots & clothes. I am sure it was an unnerving experience to get stuck, even for a short time.

Yes , the beach is fantastic! Looking forward to day summer one from there soon! The lighthouse is fantastic and it looks amazing on sunset photos too! I must try and get one!
Yes, it was very unnerving getting stuck in that sinking sand! Hopefully I will never repeat it!
