At some point during Faith no More's set I get thrown onstage, land on Jim Martin's effects pedals (which cause for a very loud noise from the guitars and Martin to be quite unhappy) and stage dive. I was soon escorted out by Rich, Biohazard's manager at the time. Fortunately a roadie who I kinda knew from past shows walked me back in so I could watch the rest of the set.
I was just reading David de Sola’s book on Alice in Chains and there’s one part where they were talking about Andrew Wood’s death. Apparently once the decision was made to take him off life support, Wood’s fiancée wanted to wait until Chris Cornell and Susan Silver could get back to WA from the east coast to say goodbye. After Wood’s OD, they didn’t want to tell Chris until after they finished the set that night, then he found out after the show, had to do one more show the next day, and headed back home to see Wood after that. If this is the March 17, 1990 show, then I think it’s the show where they were told about Wood after the show. I think other than FNM and Soundgarden, Voivid was playing too. I think.
Thanks for this clarification - Awesome . I was there at the club and was trying to remember the bill (lost my ticket stub that night) lol. btw,I now live 3 avenues and 20 blocks from the club. Before then i use to walk 3 miles just to get there with friends. Brooklyn memories.
Also looks almost like he put his hand down Chris's pants, lol! I saw this tour in Pittsburgh, my 2nd Soundgarden show and 1st FNM show. I was a huge fan of both, it was an epic night!
To think we won't see concerts again in quite some time yet at one time we had two of the best grunge/rock bands perform together in a tiny club in Brooklyn is awe-inspiring o_o
I was there...it was so crowded I could only get to the Bar..I attempted a few times to get where the stage was..but it was NOT happening..and VoiVod was the headliner at the time I believe..awesome show
so many loved this show glad we were able to film this for you and to watch it 27 years later is just devil horns. BTW it was our first bootleg in many to come. oh boy
I was there my 2nd time seeing both bands since they had been to NYC about a month earlier. Best friend Chris Jenkins came with! Didnt care too much about Voivod.
where is voivod God damn it? And holy shit Bordin is killing it! I absolutely love his Tom centric style. Especially in Woodpecker... and ftw I miss Jim.
Man... there's so much to consider when you really think about it isn't there! I have to say the 800's are pretty versatile when it comes to dialing in different sounds with a fairly limited EQ. I love how this amp can go from ZZTOP to AC/DC to Soundgarden to Metallica to Slayer or whatever with the turn of a few knobs! I also picked up an MXR 10 band EQ a while back and that thing has expanded the range of sounds I can get from my amp like you would believe!
A friend of mine reminded me that Soundgarden was 2nd on the bill...Voivod was first,,,then Soundgarden..then Faith Nor More....we went to see Soundgarden tho
Both bands (and that short clip of Type O 35:36) laying the inspirational groundwork for the debut album by the Backstreet Boys only 6 short years later!
Well this video resolves an argument I'd seen on a couple posts about what Big Jim uses for gear! A FlyingV and two stacks with vintage looking Marshall heads! JMPs? JCM 800s? SLP1959s? Looks like 2 different ones to me.
@Guitarsthatkill Good to know! His tone is killer! I've managed to approximate his sound on The Cowboy Song with my JCM 800 and the treble cranked with my MXR GTOD at about half gain and treble pretty well cranked as well. I find it hard to really nail peoples tone. Always seems like it's there for some parts but not for others. I guess that's where the other toys like Morley power wah/fuzz pedals come in!
My two favourite bands together, a dream that will never come true for me.
Literally, two of my all time fave singers, mike and Chris crowd surfing together ❤

awesome, man.
So much energy! Cornell's voice on FIRE. Man.... those were the days.

There's actually 3 bands on 1 stage, Soundgarden, Faith no More, Voivod

This is true 🤘
Crazy evening 🔥
Holy fuck. Remember when shows were like this? Cel phones killed raw humanity.
I thought I saw Chris Cornell kissing Mike. 34:33 Hmm... Not sure how I feel about that. I'm feeling kinda weird, like I think it might be hot. Lol
That'd be right.
Also looks almost like he put his hand down Chris's pants, lol! I saw this tour in Pittsburgh, my 2nd Soundgarden show and 1st FNM show. I was a huge fan of both, it was an epic night!
and then, mike fainted lol
This is heinous
That sounds like you just stole my dream
My dream become true... Chris and Mike together!!!
This must have been paradise...
God I remember this like it was yesterday. Place was so packed sweat was dripping from the ceiling...................ahhhhhhhhh good times!

I was there. One of the most classic shows at the rock Capital L’amour!!
i saw this tour at First Ave. in Minneapolis. They both were already bigger that Voi Vod bet were openers.
Best rock bands of the 90's on the same stage, amazing
HAIR. look at all those HAIR! lol. Great show! This is a rare find.
That was March 17th. Chris probably didn't yet know about Andy Wood's (Mother Love Bone vocalist) fatal overdose a day before.
He got the sad news right after the show... held back so as not to destroy the last show of the tour :(
@@zseattle this the show where he found out! That’s so devastating
La mejor música, con las mejores bandas..
Como extraño los 90s
Todo un sueño escuchar una tras otra.. Epic y woodpecker from Mars ☺☺
so many loved this show glad we were able to film this for you and to watch it 27 years later is just devil horns. BTW it was our first bootleg in many to come. oh boy

Mike Patton wrapped Jason Everman in duct tape on stage that night... like a mummy.
