After that it was never the same, consisting largely of terrible reality shows and preachy political messaging. It just seemed less like music television after that. It was great from the early days and Down Town Julie Brown, Headbangers Ball, Countdown, Yo MTV Raps, Beavis and Butthead, Kennedy, etc. Anything after that era is basically rubbish imo

Seems like Layne was never the same after he ODd on I think it was a van halen tour, and after he died and came back he just went back to his apartment and slowly killed himself. I just lost a friend last week who was probably 24 or 25. An innocent soul tormented by lack of spirit in others, and so they lower themselves to be like the rest. Not everybody makes it out alive I suppose.

This wasn't Yo MTV Raps. This was "Da Show", which was a short lived variety show that happened to have been hosted by Dr Dre and Ed Lover. I saw a lot of bands on that show that you wouldn't normally see on MTV otherwise, like the Leningrad Cowboys, Cycle Sluts From Hell, and Life Sex Death.

I was a little over a year old when this performance was recorded but my earliest musical memories include "Epic" cause my mom had this on tape. I have memories of the FNM tape next to Pretty Hate Machine on the stereo shelf and my mom switching between them.
