  • This is the last part (part 2 of 2) of the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals. This video is in complete detailed step by step on how to do the job correctly and efficiently.
Note: this video is my method of fixing and replacing the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals. Some other people might perform the task differently, but the results will come out the same.
I hope you could learn the skills in this video and hopefully will help you save money into your pocket and avoid paying high labor to some mechanic shops or the dealerships.

I just finished this project this afternoon, Mr. Bee! I got the all the gaskets and spark plugs replaced and everything put back together; took it for a test drive and everything is working! I greatly appreciate the videos; I couldn't have done this without your guidance. You successfully walked a 26 yr old girl through this, you should be proud of yourself. Thank you 🤗!

Does the valve cover gasket have to be replaced? My highlander hybrid 2007 is at 174k miles. Also what about a transmission drain and fill? What do you recommend?

If your value cover gaskets are not leaking oil, then I wouldn't worry about them. Mine was starting to leak a little bit.
Transmission drain and fill should be performed every 30,000 miles.

I agree with trans fluid every 30k. If you have a Highlander Hybrid then you don't have a clutch, it's a planetary gear assy. I did my first trans fluid change at 260k with no issues. The same should be done to the rear differential motor assembly. Make sure you get that stuff from toyota, it is stupid expensive but worth it. Even once every 80k would be a little much for those in my opinion. Your user manual might not mention the transmission fluid because it may not need it. I hope I am not stepping on your toes but I own a 2017 RAV4 Hybrid and previous owner to a 2006 Highlander Hybrid that I regret selling at 326,000 miles.

      You are correct, my friend.
It's all good though. The owner's manual recommended to take it to the dealership and you know how's it is....it's all about business and making profits.
