I don't get why people request "i'am the best" or "fire" to a vocal coach... I mean this songs are iconic but defenitly not on voice side. I suggest to you "It Hurts" from them, and maybe "missing you", "lonely", or "Ugly" too. Have a great ride.

2ne1's Lonely, It Hurts and Come Back Home are some of my favorite songs.
Girls Generation and 2NE1 debuted a year apart, I believe, and 2NE1 is essentially the group that made the "girl crush" concept that so many third and fourth generation groups are now trying to emulate. While Girls Generation was more about featuring feminine, "pretty", "sexy" energy, 2NE1 was always about being more quirky, badass, and edgy. Both groups to me are who paved the way for what Kpop is now and are still extremely respected as being like the pioneers of Kpop. Obviously, first generation is who started everything, but I think 2nd gen is really what started pushing Kpop into a global market. These two groups in particular as well as Bigbang and SHINee are why Kpop started becoming popular in the west.
2ne1 is the first kpop girl group to have a US WORLD TOUR. and Yes they are Big in US. Their song I Am The Best once used in a TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIAL
I feel like you can't grasp the true talent of 2ne1 until you watch their live performances! Their live shows are just on another level

i high recommend listening to their acoustic unplugged stage for "Come back home" its very emotional live performance tribute to Sewol Ferry tragedy.
Park Bom has an incredible and sad history. She suffers from a disease in her lymphatic system, which leads to a swelling in her lymph nodes in her neck, and also in her face. So if you watch old videos and watch recent videos you will notice some changes in her voice, but I still think she sings well. 2ne1 were called ugly, so they made a song called "Ugly" and sold a lot, it was a hit, they are legendary.
The biggest thing about 2NE1 is their live performances. They, along with labelmates Big Bang, focused on live performances as opposed to set choreo. As you've noticed, its hard to find non-studio raw vocals from 3rd gen groups. 2NE1 you'll have no problem with that. Because of this focus, their performances are always a new experience and their frequent appearances at the end of year award shows like MAMA (Korean Grammys) were always a treat. They also sang with a backing track but only took it as a suggestion, instead adlibbing frequently.
2NE1 were one of the early North American kpop ventures. They definitely helped to pave the way for further success.

2ne1 was on the way to world domination such as blackpink now. but they disbanded before that. they were getting pretty big in the US back when they released "I Am The Best" bc the song was in a commercial and a lot of actors were going to korea to promote so they would talk about them on TV shows as well. CL is friends with basically everyone in the industry. and i mean it when i say everyone, from madonna to naomi the model. WILL.I.AM was helping 2ne1 with production as well, cl even has a song with black eyed peas.

Yes Girls Generation and 2ne1 are both 2nd generation kpop group. Girls Generation and 2ne1 were considered like rivals back then. Sones (Girls Generation fandom) and blackjacks(2ne1 fandom) were always clashing in fanwars. But now the fandoms became matured and only do funwars😁

If you want amazing vocals from 2ne1. You HAVE to watch the acoustic version of come back home. It is... so so good.
Their last group performance (minus minzy) is very emotional - It’s called *Goodbye*, and their live performance of ‘*Come Back Home*’ was dedicated to a tragedy and it’s an amazing performance.
Their later album ‘CRUSH’ has much more vocal focus.
I did mention on another video that they all recently came out with Solo’s.

Yes! One of my favs! I’m so glad you gave them a listen. They were indeed 2nd gen and were more or less up there with Girls Generation. Both iconic in their own unique ways. 2NE1 essentially paved the way for more powerful/bada** concepts when the market was flooded with more cute and feminine concepts. Loved your reaction.

IMO they've got the saddest song in kpop history in "Goodbye". Give it a look after you've gotten to know them a little more and you'll cry like a baby.

Oh 2NE1...this is the group that started it all for me. This is the group that got me into Kpop back in 2011....their agency did them dirty and fans are still bitter.
I want to reccomend the songs: Lonely, It Hurts, and Come Back Home (the mv, and the acoustic live)
Best vocalists? Yes. They all have distinct voices. You can identify which member is singing what line. They improved since debut. Take note: They haven't done a single lip sync performance! They always perform LIVE! They sound good live than studio versions who are autotuned or with effects.
Update: I finished the reaction and Sir Austin actually liked their voices lol he said her voice is my favorite (referring to CL, second Minzy then Bom) I hope he gets to hear a song where Dara's voice is highlighted like "Good to You," "Pretty Boy," "Clap Your Hands," "In the Club" and I think in "Come Back Home" idk but I loved her lines there since it showcased her range and tone.
Best dancers? No way I'll say no since They have Minzy the "dancing machine" CL is a good dancer too and has badass level. Dara can level up her dancing and has improved since debut with her swag. With Bom, she actually revealed how she doesn't like dancing that much but she can still dance and as a group, they look hella synchronized.
Best Rapper? Yes! 3 of them can do well in rapping namely, CL (of course) Minzy and Dara.
Best choreos? This I'll say no. But... There's a reason why they don't have complicated or extraordinary choreos. It's because they focus more on singing live and being stable. They do less dancing so that they can actually sound good and not out of breath compared to other group's choreos that are way hyped but they are not stable in singing.
Update: I'm not saying they don't have great choreos though. They are... But what I'm referring to is that there may be best choreos out there but they can pull off choreos with the level of difficulty but still sound so good when singing.
Best in stage presence and charisma? YES. And I don't need to explain that. :))
Fun fact: They didn't debut as a ballad K-group but they released ballad songs which achieved much recognition. (Missing You, Lonely, It Hurts, to name a few).

Undoubtedly 2ne1 was very important and a milestone in the history of kpop, and one day leading groups to bring international popularity to kpop, they were basically the first group to enter the Billboard us charts, by far Minzy is the best vocalist of the group, look for some videos of her singing and doing covers, apart from having the title of best dancer in all kpop, in all generations, Minzy and Cl are those artists complete package, voice, rap, dance, attitude, choreography, composition. .the Mamamoo is very influenced by 2ne1, 2ne1 has beautiful ballads like Be Mine, Lonely, Missing Tou, If a were You, all with acoustic versions of only voice and guitar, where you can have a very accurate notion of their voice. Park Bom was the main vocalist and has the title of one of the most unmistakable voices in kpop and most striking as well. Ja Cl is the most popular South Korean artist in the US, in the midst of fashion, fashion and beauty icon, aside from having the title of best South Korean rapper and basically being one of the first to dedicate herself to rap, since before she was more dedicated to the vocals.

From what I've read, because the 4 girls didn't have the 'conventional' beauty standards of other girl groups, YG was not prepared for how popular they got and never knew quite what to do with them. Then they debuted Blackpink who was sometimes called "2NE1- but pretty" (unfairly to both groups). I think the 2NE1 song "Ugly" is one of the biggest serves in kpop- a beautiful song sung by 4 beautiful girls. Definitely give that song a listen if you look further into 2NE1.

As a blackjack (2NE1 fandom name) I'm happy to see you react to them. First, Fire is their debut song and they released the space version first. The one that you liked the voice in I love you was CL she is the main rapper and also vocalist too. The main vocal thought is Bom Park the one with red long hair and white shirt on the bed in I love you. The one with short is is Minzy the main dancer and she was only 16 when she debuted with 2NE1. The last member is Dara she is the fresh voice of the group. So yeah, all of them have good vocals and lot of other talents. Yeah, 2NE1 is second generation like SNSD.

1nd generation girl groups in kpop (before 2010) : Fin.K.L, SES, Baby V.O.X - this was when I was in middle school...and kpop/ idol biz started at this time around. some of these groups' members can sing really well and they became musical theatre singers
2nd generation (2000-2010) : girl's generation, 2NE1, wonder girls, 4Minute (similar to 2NE1 in my opinion) , brown eyed girls, f(x), sistar and numerous others..

Ah my Blackjack heart. 2NE1 are my ultimate kpop girl group. Mamamoo are my second and I can honestly say no one can beat 2NE1 for who they were and what they did.
Fun fact. Hwasa and Wheein are original Blackjacks and Park Bom is Wheein's one and only idol. Wheein eventually featured on Park Bom's song 4.44

Yes, 2NE1 is in the same generation as Girls' Generation. They debuted two years after GG in 2009. Fire was their debut song.
For upbeat songs I would suggest Can't Nobody, Falling In Love, and Gotta Be You. For more vocal focused songs I would suggest It Hurts and Missing You. And for some live vocals they have official live performances for Crush and If I Were You.

As for trivia. CL jus came back whit post up, Minzy is under another label and her song lovely was very well received, she debuted at 16 YO (whit fire). Bom was involved in a drug scandal that ended up being a misunderstanding, she was declared not guilty since the supposed drugs turn out to be a medicine that she was prescribed but were banned in KO so she needed to import them. the fandom is called "blackjacks" because the purpose of the game is to get a 21, the name can be understood as "to anyone" meaning that they sing to anyone there.
I recommend "clap your hands" for the rap and "gotta be you" for vocals

I'm a Blackjack as well as a MooMoo, and I'm still angry at YG for the way they treated this legendary GG. At the height of their popularity, they were competing against SNSD and they also revolutionized the Kpop industry with their girl crush concept and amazing stage presence, and yet YG was the reason why Minzy decided to leave, and then later all other members left as the group was deep freezed by their company. Thankfully, CL, Park Bom, and Minzy have found new companies where hopefully will treat them better.
Btw, in the Fire MV, the singing order from 1st to 4th was: CL, Minzy, Park Bom, then Dara. You should also watch the 2NE1 guide to learn more about all the members.
