2NE1's discography is so versatile. They have music for every moment. Feeling happy, excited, hurt, bossy, lonely, ugly, nostalgic, sad, fierce? They got a song for it all.
The biggest mark left by 2NE1 on Kpop is that it popularized the concept of girl crush. All existing girl crush concept girl groups cannot escape the influence of 2NE1. At the same time, they were diva.
Lol snsd's cute concept dominated 2nd gen so much to the point when 3rd gen started most ggs were debuting wit cute concepts

I love Teddy’s works during 2ne1 days. You could see how he explored different music genres in every 2ne1 song, every piece is unique and sounds soooo good. Top it off with 2ne1 unique voice and great vocal quality, those were such gold era
Hiiiiii!~ Veteran Blackjack here. I was there from actually when 2NE1 were still trainees. The reason why 2NE1 looked so witchy in this video is because the MV was released right around Halloween 2010. 2NE1 had done promotions for their first album (this is where that song came from) from July of 2010 right through the awards season. This song was a B-side that they gave an MV to fans as YGE actually operated a bit better back then management wise (but only slightly).
I've been a blackjack since 2010 and I never knew about this!!! Omooo thanks for the new infoooo!!! It Hurts is one of my top ballad songs from them ugghh!!! 🔥✨

It Hurts MV was planned for release on Halloween that’s why the theme was witch-y- it was like a special treat for the fans as well because that same year was when their first full-length album was released (around Sept.) and they had not just one but THREE title songs that they promoted at the same time- the album was very successful so this was their way of thanking the fans. It was the first time in history of Kpop that an artist would release 3 title songs and promote them at the same time- it was unprecedented because all 3 title songs fought for the no.1 spot on K-charts so it was hard for the fans to focus on just one song for them to help 2NE1 win on music shows, lol. After promoting these 3 title songs, they extended their album promotions by releasing the MV for ‘It Hurts’ and also performing the song on music shows. Btw, the 3 title songs were Can’t Nobody, Clap Your Hands and Go Away. Please react to the rest of the songs in their first full-length album (‘To Anyone’) which also includes solo songs for Park Bom (‘You and I’) and Dara (‘Kiss’) and also a song with the maknaes- CL & Minzy called ‘Please Don’t Go’. They performed all their solo songs live at the 2009 MAMA along with ‘I Don’t Care’ (this and Fire were their debut songs).
[One of my most favorite 2NE1 songs up until today is ‘Love Is Ouch’ which is included in this album :D]
As far as I remember the guy in Gotta Be You is a model and was an actual ex of CL's.
GBU holds a special place in my heart cause its the last full cb they did before YG decided to lock them in the basement... I wish we could turn back time and give them one more chance cause truly they were going up and up, they were killing it until their last cb.
Aside from being great vocalists and performers, 2NE1 were known also for their HIGH fashion.

Edit: Witchy is really the theme. Dara is a witch. I think CL is a furry monster of some sort, Bom is yuki onna-esque monster, and Minzy is a cursed doll. All three and the guy don't really exist anymore, Dara is just doing all she can with her witchcraft to summon them once a year out of obsession.

I miss my QUEENS...... they are my number1 girl group till today.. no one can replace them...
It Hurts was supposed to be Daesung's solo, but they gave it to 2NE1 instead. Later in 2017, he released the original version he had recorded several years prior. He also sang the song live once in a YG Family concert with Se7en (a soloist who was a mentor and friend to Bigbang since they were trainees)
2NE1 all sing like their lives depend on it. You just don't get that anymore.

She's also an amazing performer so do check out her live stages too. She also participated in composing and producing some of 2NE1's songs during her time with the group from the 'Crush' album and their last song 'goodbye'

as far i can remember , on 2ne1 tv during filming it hurt, they jokingly said cl is the step sister of dara trying to steal dara's bf 😂. minzy is the yonger sister of one of them . while park bom is the witch /fairy godmother .. (my memory is fuzzy . im old already 😂)

I can put 2ne1 as one of the Top 3 strongest vocals in 2nd Gen, but sadly people back then dont recognized them as vocaly strong,whenever there's a list of GG groups vocals they dont include 2ne1, but when its a solo list I rarely see Park Bom's name back then..they only include her for having a unique vocal tone. But for me I can say that they are in the Top 3 vocally strong among GG in 2nd Gen.They have a lot of song's that show's their strong vocals.

If my math is right (which it probably isn't), Minzy - the maknae - was recently turned 18 for the release of I love You (her birthday is in January, this was released in July of that year). She turned 29 this year so if this was in 2012, then yeah, I think she was 18.

2NE1 in general always had a big age gap (I think there's about a decade between the oldest and youngest). YG's new gg Baby Monster also has a big age gap (just shorter by a few years, I think it's like 7 years instead)
I have the live version of If I Were You on my every day playlist and I daresay, the live is better than the studio!

Yes, the sexy girl with short hair in 'I Love You' MV is Minzy, the youngest. The song came out around 2012, Minzy's born in 1994, do the math, she's around 17~18 in the MV. Minzy's very good at dancing, and she's not shy to show sexy dance moves, but she's under 18 when she debuted(at the age of 15), most of the time her styles would be more boy-ish or say a bit more conservative than the other members, like no showing her legs and belly yet still equally stylish during her early 2NE1 days.

I think Lonely is 2ne1's first PAK, and also the first for girl groups.
Watching these mvs make me feel so nostalgic, 2NE1 WERE AHEAD OF THEIR TIME. I remember how iconic just YG groups in general in terms on FASHION and SOUND like when edm was still entering kpop, also with how they can easily collab with western artists especially CL and GD. you’d understand if you’re a kpop fan back then.
I've been stanning kpop since 2009, and although i am SM stan, i love all the 2nd generation kpop groups. They are the reason why kpop got us curios about their songs, especially here in Philippines. The Era in which we don't have the easy access to watch their comeback mvs because we don't have time for that so we basically listen to Myx (local music channel) top international songs. And now watching reactors watching 2nd gen groups makes me so happy! 🥹💕

I love you and gotta be you are such underrated songs. I love both of them so much! “I love you” is so angelic and beautiful. My favorite parts are the bridge, the second verse, and 14:31, those parts are so angelic and beautiful and they all have such good vocals. “Gotta be you” is such a good song also. My favorite parts are the raps, the bridge, and the chorus. When I first heard the song I fell in love with the raps and the bridge. Both very beautiful and angelic and again their vocals sound so good!
'Lonely' was the very first Perfect All-Kill achieved by a gg...bagged the 'best vocal performance' and yess love the lyrics of it. The first time I heard without knowing the lyrics I thought i was just a typical 'sad love song' but as it turns out it's how being 'lonely' despite being with the person u love and loves u, a good person...
