I have one that still works and still has the original battery. SIM compatibility is a bit challenging because a lot of modern "SIM" cards are really "USIM only" cards and the phone rejected them. When I put an old Vodafone dual-mode (SIM/USIM) card that was still provisioned with 2G service into it, it worked, and you could make calls and send/receive SMS.

Nokia is the only company which can dominate the market with 10 different models, as it did in 2008. I miss those times where you can expect to get a reliable phone across so many different price points and feature sets.

No this is the whole world. The reason why iPhones are higher is because only Apple makes them, and they only release 3-4 a year. Meanwhile every other company uses Android, which is why Android is the most popular operating system, however iPhones are the most popular phones themselves

Nokia had a Monopoly from the 90's to 2008 when the iPhone creeped in. I had the Nokia 6340i in 2002 then an LG Flip Phone a few years later, then an LG Chocolate...can't remember after that.
This all feels like a thing of yesterday. I used to have a Nokia 1110 as my first phone, then I saw the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the hype of the iPhone 6, and now there are so many different phones.
Still talking about my Nokia 8210 sometimes that it was ran over by a Toyota Previa, picked it up, took battery out and put it back in; ta-da... work again... LOL...

It's for the whole world . The stats are for sales in a year . Don't forget that , It's not the majority of people who change their phone every year. Then you have those who have no need for a phone at all , ie the very young and the very elderly . Add in some other factors then you look at the population of the world. I think a peak of 250 000 000 sales in a year is for the world.
I know smartphones enable us to do amazing things.. they are powerful computers and it's incredible how they managed to make something like this. However, Nokia phones even though they were simple and limited but they have something special about them. Maybe we like them because they are simple and good enough for what should be. Also maybe because times back were simpler. Today feels like a continuous noise. Unfortunately, we can't really go back to those days. I have a Nokia for calls and an Android for everything else. That how things are.
