Tencent is currently the largest company in the entire world. They own shares in just about every major business from game companies to hollywood to food companies to politics to weapon manifacturers, the list goes on. Its a Chinese company and sadly, while Tencent QQ is used in China only, Whatsapp runs through Meta, same as Facebook messenger and probably more on this list, and Meta is connected to Tencent. Tencent owns the vast majority of chatting platforms, but also datamines users. No idea what they do with it, Im honestly guessing 99.999% of the data is just deleted or ignored, but its how China spies on the rest of the world.
Last 10 years I've preferred Google's Allo=>Hangouts=>Chat messenger for it's no-phone number usage and I like that nobody from social networks and phone contacts annoys me.
I remember the AIM'ing friends on the Gmail messenger as late as 2011 or 12. It shows you that the world from a generation ago isn't even recognizable anymore.
Now the creator of telegram is detained in France, in a case that they initiated a couple of minutes before his flight landed. Of course, the beating is extremely shitty and politically motivated.
In sheer number of total users worldwide sure, obviously. But that would take combining all kinds of SMS services and the hundreds of apps out there designed for SMS. SMS isn't a program or service developed and maintained by one organization like the ones listed in this video are. To compare SMS, you'd have to consider numbers for each and every phone carrier service that offers SMS, breakdown the hundreds of SMS capable apps, and calculate the subset of users who explicitly used those apps for SMS (since many of the apps in this video were and are capable of handling SMS a I don't know how you'd calculate that with any accuracy).
Honestly I dont get what people like about telegram. All I get there is pedos and dealers adding me to try and push csem drugs or weapons on me. Ive even had it happen several times where a pedo adds me and sends csem out of the gate in hopes I send some back. Worst thing about it: nothing I can do to get those freaks arrested. Ill never support a platform so heavily invested with pedos that also allows them to do whatever fucked up shit they want without consequences If I ever find out my kids have telegram I can guarantee they will live a year without having any social media at all as punishment. No fucking way Ill let my kids on a platform that suspicious and dangerous
For who? Because its by far the worst for anyone under 18 due to the immense amount of pedos being able to creep without consequence, for adults its a bad place due to being unconsensually shown csem by those pedos, drug deals and arms dealers invading your dms and shit like that. I really dont see how messenger is good for anyone except criminals
@ If you see in telegrams only those disadvantages that you have listed, then this is not my problem. Telegram is currently the top one messenger in terms of functionality and visual.
@ruzzzm who cares if its your problem? You said its the best, and it absolutely is one of the worst. Wether you suffer from it being invested with pedos and other criminals or not doesnt change that. Just because you won the lottery to not be spammed with csem, or are a pedo who enjoys that shit, doesnt change that the fact it happens so damn much makes it one of the worst platforms. At most you could say its YOUR favorite, or YOU THINK its the best. If its just your fav then whatever, but if you seriously think the best messenger is the one with the most child sexual exploitation happening and being shared as well as the most scams and drug/arms deals, Id honestly consider your opinion disregarded, we dont need the opinions of pedos or criminals here. I sincerely hope its just your fav because you havent been cursed with csem or scams or dealers, rather than the alternative of you not minding those things As for being number one for functionality and visual, its miles behind discord in funcionality and discord isnt even in the top half of this list lmfao. I think Telegram is over now isnt it? Saw something in the news
Oh man, I haven't thought of my old Trillian account and the associated Yahoo/AIM/MSN handles in forever. Late 90's/early 00's was wild for sure!
Here before Telegram drop.
love the way you do these vids
Nostalgia prevails. 😢
I think I had an MSN account but never used it. I mainly used AIM and Yahoo. I can still see and hear the sounds and symbols and it makes me so nostalgic. Life was so much better before everything turned mobile.

Awesome Video, imstant sub ;) and so cool that you always answer even with that many comments, that's amaizing! Have a nice day! (bec I know you will read it) 😊❤
Wow, you started posting on TH-cam 16 years ago? That blows my mind.
@@DataIsBeautifulOfficial yes and still getting asked from youtube if im already 18 years old xD
I'm so surprised the Facebook Messenger being on the 3rd now!
Right. no one I know uses it. It's either WhatsApp or Threema (not that big, only like 10 Million users)
Where do you source all of those numbers?
On the internet since 1997, never heard of Tencent QQ 🤷
Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
You got me feeling sad for a penguin
Good job!
Thanks!
I'd never even heard of Tencent QQ.
Same
i think it was more popular only in china
The king and the melody that made him famous! No better combination than this xd
Lol
Where is VK?
Russian
Last 10 years I've preferred Google's Allo=>Hangouts=>Chat messenger for it's no-phone number usage and I like that nobody from social networks and phone contacts annoys me.
I absolutely hate whatsapp. Worst app ever. I hate that I have to use it to see people's photos.
WhatsApp can be a pain, but it's hard to avoid when everyone else is on it.
I don't know Phone numbers of about 80% People I know, so I don't need that and the app design looks like from 2012
ICQ! OMG I remember that from 1998 while I played Ultimate Online. Fun times!
Is Viber still alive?..
It's very popular (#1) in several countries.
Yes, but full of ads. Unusable.
@@DataIsBeautifulOfficial In Belarus for example
Didn't it also start there?
It is apparently most secure of all
The music is awesome!!
Who else switched to Telegram just for the stickers?
I think telegram is the best messenger today

I remember the AIM'ing friends on the Gmail messenger as late as 2011 or 12.
It shows you that the world from a generation ago isn't even recognizable anymore.
Telegram is the fastest growing messenger
Around 2009, in Brazil, sending SMS cost between R$0.30 and R$0.50, which is why WhatsApp gained so much relevance and has not stopped since.

That ICQ message sound... What a nostalgia
Now the creator of telegram is detained in France, in a case that they initiated a couple of minutes before his flight landed. Of course, the beating is extremely shitty and politically motivated.
Telegram has a reputation of being used by scammers to steal money from people. Maybe they should try cracking down on these people a little harder.
Mirc user here....❤ cheers😊
I still don't have an idea why WhatsApp is so much more popular than Viber when it is basically the same thing but Viber is better.
Preferences and marketing
Viber is a slow garbage
What's the name of the music background composition?
Heaven and Hell
Telegram rocks. But I’d say SMS crushes all these.
Telegram needs to crack down on the scammers using their site. It is one of the most popular sites for scammers these days.
Lmfao
In sheer number of total users worldwide sure, obviously. But that would take combining all kinds of SMS services and the hundreds of apps out there designed for SMS.
SMS isn't a program or service developed and maintained by one organization like the ones listed in this video are. To compare SMS, you'd have to consider numbers for each and every phone carrier service that offers SMS, breakdown the hundreds of SMS capable apps, and calculate the subset of users who explicitly used those apps for SMS (since many of the apps in this video were and are capable of handling SMS a I don't know how you'd calculate that with any accuracy).
@@mario0318 Ahhhh pedantic.
Ill never support a platform so heavily invested with pedos that also allows them to do whatever fucked up shit they want without consequences
If I ever find out my kids have telegram I can guarantee they will live a year without having any social media at all as punishment. No fucking way Ill let my kids on a platform that suspicious and dangerous

Just loved the experience with Yahoo messenger
Telegram ist best messenger in 2024
I sincerely hope its just your fav because you havent been cursed with csem or scams or dealers, rather than the alternative of you not minding those things
As for being number one for functionality and visual, its miles behind discord in funcionality and discord isnt even in the top half of this list lmfao. As for visual I think it looks cheap and outdated but opinions on that can differ ofcourse
