@@oldermusicloverIn the original series Goliath didn't have an AI , it was just a truck with the same molecular bonding shell. Although a better story would have been Karr's cpu found by Garth and used to give Goliath an AI. It would still be Karr's but take on the name Goliath. Imagine Peter Cullen coming back for his voice in a killer truck 💯
KARR was not evil......he just had self preservation programming. The big mistake with KARR is he thought he was superior because he was the prototype. Prototypes are usually not as good as production because they are quickly made and use inferior components.
He was evil in the second episode, but I think it was because his motherboard had all sorts of corrosion, with him being corrupted thanks to that corrosion.
I doubt Wilton Knight's intention was to make the production models neigh invulnerable and quite as powerful (and probably not as willful). Rather, these 2 prototypes would be vastly superior, so that the Foundation could use them to fight crime. K.I.T.T vs K.A.R.R is one of my favorite episodes but it would have been even better as a two hour episode. Lots of storytelling to cram into one hour.
They should have had David Hasselhoff return as Garthe rebuilding KARR & Goliath like the Fast and Furrious meets KNIGHT RIDER check out the video for this all previous shows and Airwolf are in it 😮
Yeah, would've been great. Though I reckon it may have also been a bit cliché. Would've felt like seeing Michael and KITT in Star Trek's mirror universe. Plus I think Hasselhoff requested Garthe be killed off as he was finding it tiring playing a dual role.
@AndrewChapman Garthe gets plastic surgery to "reclaim his face". Hell, get Larry Anderson; Garthe remaking himself into Michael Long to "show Michael how it feels".
@@downix Yeah, that could've worked. Though Hasselhoff still would've had to provide the voice dubbing since he played Garthe without having his voice dubbed.
I'm sure you've addressed it before, but there's a conversation that KARR has with KITT in a deleted scene where he talks about how KITT's just a puppet and not 'living' for himself and then that episode ends with KITT thinking about what KARR said. I can't remember it exactly but I remember it put such a dark spin on the end of the episode.
That's not the discussion they had. KARR said to KITT as Bonnie was calibrating the Laser in TDR, the discussion was about how being one of a kind is special, but so is being two of a kind and it plays in to where Michael asks KITT at the end of the episode "How does it feel to be one of a kind? KITT says being one of a kind is a very familiar feeling. Then it cuts to a wide shot where he says it again after Michael leave. Between those two moments KITT would play back the scene about KARR saying being two of a kind is special, which makes sense why KITT repeats the line cause his brother is gone.
My dad my brother and I loved Knight Rider...I found an old VHS tape dad had he recorded the episode where kitt gets destroyed with the battering ram machine...it's even more amazing now because it has all the old commercials and ads from that era.
I'll have to dig it out I have no problem sending it you guys. I know I haven't watched it in years because our VHS player started eating tapes lol luckily that wasn't one of em
Indeed. I always WISHED they had made more KARR episodes!!!!! If I ever build a Knight Rider trans-am, it would be a KARR......not a KITT. We have plenty of KITT replicas, where are the KARR replicas!!!! :p
@@AndrewChapman I'm thinking 🤔 maybe it did in Junkyard Dog. Maybe Acid John found it and hired Marco Berio (killer Kitt) to build a self driving forklift. In the script for junkyard dog it says you don't get to see who if anybody is driving it
@@resetsetmefree478 honestly, if I were to time travel back and suggest a season 5 of the original show and the studio was on board with doing the season, for Adrienne Margo and macro berio, I never really thought too much about them, but garthe? You darn well know it 😁.
Paul Frees is the voice I always associate with KARR just because of how sinister he made him sound, it was pure evil, you couldn't have asked for a better voice actor to play KARR than Paul Frees! It was the way that he voiced him to make him seem so assertive but also with the edge of being manipulative as well that always put the hairs on the back of your neck on edge, it was pure malice within his voice, and to think Paul Frees had his ashes scattered into the Pacific Ocean
The black color of KITT and KARR was part of the molecular bonded shell. So theoretically, the silver on KARR was just painted over that and had no real strength of its own. It’s possible to say the silver burned off in the explosion and the black remained. Also, they should’ve found a way to resurrect Garthe and Goliath and put KARR’s CPU into the truck. That would’ve made a crazy episode.
My idea for that, Garthe gets his hands on a Firebird, updates it with a molecular bonded shell, drops KARR into it, and uses him for a prototype to upgrade Goliath. Of course, I figure by the end of the episode, KARR turns face due to his hatred of the Knight foundation, and possibly due to corruption of his programming, sacrifices himself to save Michael and KITT.
I wonder if K.A.R.R.'s blinking CPU after he exploded was influenced by CHRISTINE when a piece of her grill moves after she was crushed, or if it was just coincidence?
In the show, KARR says "My circuitry needs repairs and I want to alter my appearance." KITT mentions that all of KARR's possible targets have double security. So, my question is, where did John get those parts and how did he know how to replace them?
I like how in KITT vs KARR KARR is voiced by the late great Paul Frees who was the voices of great cartoon characters back in the 1960's and also most notably The Disney Haunted Mansion ghost host.
Idea here... Knightrider continuation, it is 40 yrs later, Devon is obviously gone by murder Bonnie and Michael are retired and FLAG is still operating in Seattle. KARR has been resurrected into a modern style vehicle with a team of people causing mayhem all over the west coast. KARR has the same capabilites that KITT had in the 80s with a semi and team to work on him. FLAG finds out and is in a race against time to rebuild KITT to catch and stop KARR and his team and restore order. This is something out of my warped mind of thinking. Hope someone likes this idea.
I loved the 2 appearances of KARR I always wished there would be a 3rd appearance but alas, if they ever brought back knight rider we all know that sadly will never happen but they could of brought it back around the cpu discovery
I'm a softie at heart and I will always wonder if we could have had a redemption arc for KARR. 1984 is after all also the anniversary of the Terminator. I wonder if the 2 productions ever met while shooting at night in LA... 🤯
The corvette you showed a picture of and was the inspiration for karr was the 1978 corvette Indy pace car. It was the only one that had the silver and black with a red pinstripe separating the colors. The anniversary corvette for 1978 was sliver and a metallic gray color
I like him in the episode trust doesn't rust. Because he's voiced by peter cullen the voice of prime in transformers. But he's even more evil in k.i.t.t vs k.a.r.r. He's brilliant his green voice speaker was so popular with fans larson decided to use it for k.i.t.t and made it red!
@@PAUL-MH I like how karrs scanner sounds in trust doesn't rust. Its like kitts scanner played backwards! So it sounds quite eerie and menacing. I think it's too bad they changed it for the sequel
I had always wished that they would have explained more on how KARR came back in KITT vs KARR. KITT even tells Michael that they both saw KARR explode during their last encounter. But yet we see KARR fully intact. That part never made any sense to me. I still love that episode. But it is a mystery on how KARR was intact after exploding in the Trust Doesn't Rust.
The KARR episodes were the best in the show...and I say that as a Goliath episodes super fan. There was a guilty pleasure with KARR, he wasn't bound by the goody two shoes persona we had with KITT, the writers were free to make him down right evil and do things we could NEVER see with KITT. There was also a cool factor to KARR even as bad as he was. I'd kill for a KARR model with a working sensor and voice box programmed from the episodes with lines from both voice actors.
Surely Karr had to be a late '81 Trans-Am? Must have taken an early delivery to have time to end a failed prototype, and then replace with an early 82 TA.
I'd like to add the nice miniatures work by Sessums & Slagle when KITT & KARR turbo into each other. That scene was so scary to me at 8 years old that I covered my eyes when the two cars hit each other mid-air. Great, fun, classic 80s TV! We'll never see anything like it again.
Part of what you mentioned is part of my season 5 over arching storyline. Garthe himself is revealed to have survived and hid "underground" for a few years until about the start of season 5, and he builds karrs cpu into Goliath after he came across his cpu for a final confrontation.
But ultimately, Garth Jason Knight, "The Goliath Master," meets HIS end along with Cameron Zachary Jr. when KARR's "brain" is implanted into the RE-restored Goliath and turns Goliath into Garth Knight's and Cameron Zachary Jr.'s MURDERER, before permanently destroying both himself AND Goliath. The team that Wilton Knight's Foundation for Law And Government had had to organize after Michael David Knight tried to retire from being "The Knight Rider," along with the Knight Rider himself, ends up having to disband after its last mission has thus been accomplished.
@@DoIGetTube And since the foundation still had a budget and people who operate above the law... You know your plot is begging to be a lead in to TKR ;)
@@Spokavrielis told that it is exactly that--a lead-in to "TKR's" permanent cancellation, and that of "KR" as well. For Michael has to join forces with the Knight TWENTY Thousand, a rebuild of a Trans Am GTA that HAS the molecular bonded shell--AND the original Kitt's brain. Drs. Bonifacia "Bonnie" Barstow and April Curtis, BOTH of the engineers-technologists who helped maintain Kitt, have to join forces to bring the Knight Twenty Thousand's existence about when Reggie "RC3" Cornelius III is MURDERED by Cameron Zachary Jr. It's the Knight Rider's, AND also TEAM Knight Rider's, final and greatest triumph, and it helps the Michael Arthur Long whom the Knight Rider USED to be finally exorcise the mental ghosts that haunt his Vietnam War past in the process.
I have never understood why KARR has the same kind of voice display as KITT because KITT has only a red tile at the beginning - and KARR is older than KITT. So KARR should only had a white tile.
@@resetsetmefree478 I think they have done this to make KARR look equal. KITT would look more advanced with the difference in the displays - so everybody would expect KARR to be behind.
Okay here's my theory has Michael got better kit had to be built in a hurry so all the parts that they fitted into car didn't necessarily make it in the kit because of the time crunch hence why can't had the simpler voice display and then upgraded later
As an idea for the Transformers RPG, I wrote up stats for KARR to be a Decepticon. I gave him the backstory that after the episode some Decepticons found his CPU and took it with them. Eventually he would get a new body built to resemble his appearance (and the weapons that KITT had in the NES game). I'm hoping to eventually work on Goliath as a character.
My dream episode for Knight Rider season 5 would have been Garthe Knight and Adriane Margo making a comeback with Goliath. The obtain KARRs cpu and have it installed in Goliath. The story would include them kidnapping Jennifer Knight as another attempt to destroy Michael and KITT and their ultimate goal being to destroy The Foundation for Law and Government. I always thought this would make for a great episode.
Great video, always loved Karr and believed he was the biggest threat for Kitt and Micheal. In my head canon, Karr was supposed to become Michael's car, but due the Karr's programing and Michael getting shot, made Wilton have to use Michael's original Trans Am. Hence why the Kitt is seen still being worked on and even Devon stating that they haven't tested Kitt completely.
Coincidentally, that’s more or less the story in the 2008 series. Mike can’t remember most of his military experience, and that’s because he was originally KARR’s driver. But when KARR went rogue, they deactivated him and erased Mike’s memory.
@@dodgeramsport01 Actually, Devon was pretty vague about it: "Mere resemblance between that car and your own, is mere superficial", which does not mean its not Michael's original T/A, it could mean it has been completely redesigned to the point that has nothing in common with a stock T/A. Also, Michael referred to Kitt as his car several times, without Devon nor WIlton correcting him, which they never did.
@maxburner3500 look up.the definition of Superficial and then how do you explain KARR ? It's not Michael's car. His car had to be in the desert with the body!
@@dodgeramsport01 Look up my 2 previous comments and actually read them: I explained that Karr was the prototype, chosen as a T/A because it was the same model as Michael's car and would lessen the trauma of becoming someone new. But due its self preservation programing, they shut Karr down and since they had limited time due Michael being shot, they chose to work on his T/A and turn it into Kitt, hence all the rush on getting Kitt up and running ASAP. And like I said, nobody contradicts Michael about Kitt being his original car, even stating he even said he would get back to the foundation to get Kitt removed from the car when Kitt and Michael first interacted. And who's body you're talking about?
I always did like the look of KARR with the two-tone paint job. It's curious that the Foundation never did try to recover KARR after the events of Trust Doesn't Rust. And did they collect the remains after KARR was finally destroyed?
In knightrider 2000, I think they should've recovered KARR's cpu and had it in storage at the foundation. Just a thought, since the ending was left open in KITT vs KARR.
Agreed... but because the ending of KITT vs KARR is still left open, that KARR's cpu may have been recovered and is in FLAG's storage. Or the cpu has been recovered by someone else and is attempting to place it in another vehicle.
I wish David Hasselhoff would appear at the Southern Knights Atlanta with the guest stars from KITT vs. KARR, it would be cool to have him with Jeff Osterhage, Ed Crick, and Jennifer Holmes and reminisce about that episode
oh man did y'all remember seeing the white junker they pushed off the ledge in "Trust Doesn't Rust" as KARR's stunt double? Speaking of fanfic, I have a story in "Development Hell" (Real Life interfering) where KARR is found by Swindle the Combaticon (Transformers) and restored. It's called _KARR Trouble_ . It's intended to be the 3rd in a series, two other stories of which are already completed ( _Knight Tracks_ , where KITT literally runs into the Autobot Tracks; and _Turbo Boosted_ , where the Decepticons kidnap KITT and hijinks ensue). One of these days I'll get around to finishing _KARR Trouble_ lol.
I’m pretty excited to get a photograph with both Peter Cullen and frank welker in August. Peter because why wouldn’t I want a picture taken with my childhood hero and his nemesis. Funny enough one of the reasons I love Trans Am’s so much is because of Peter voicing Karr, hell my first car was an ‘82 TA that I bought back in 1994 by pure happen stance when I was 16 and this beautiful red ‘82 TA with a big bird on the hood pulled up to me at a red light. I remember telling the lady driving I loved her car and that it was my dream car. She told me it was for sale and gave me her number. I called that night and bought it the next day.
Hi Joe and KITT AND CAR 🚗 AND CREW NICE VIDEO 📹 AND WORKMANSHIP I NEED TO READ 📚 THE CREDITS SOON I'LL TAKE A PICTURE OF THE SCREEN BECAUSE THE SCREEN DARKENS WHEN I PAUSE !!!
The thing that always irritated me was KARRs voice modulator. If KARR was the prototype, his yellow modulator display (above the steering "wheel") shouldve been a solid blinking panel, like KITTs was in the early 1st season. Well done on putting that at #4!
@Knight Rider Historians: Yes, Peter Cullen is also the long-time voice of Eeyore from Winnie The Pooh. Cullen last voiced Eeyore in 2011. Looking back at Knight Rider, I too wish that KARR had gotten another appearance in the next season, since KITT vs KARR leaves the door open story wise for this happen.
Not only has Peter Cullen voiced Eeyore and Optimus Prime, you can find a convention video here where at a request, he uses Eeyore's voice for Opritus Prime, its hilarious
KARR CPU was stored at the foundation and when Charles Graiman wanted to make a new smart KARR they used this CPU as part of the design realising it was evil they had to start from scratch and build another car this could explain the updated KARR in the KR universe having the same voice.
Appreciate you featuring the voice talent. I’ve worked as an animation artist and also in the attractions industry and Paul Frees is just one of those names cemented as a legendary part of both industries. Forever Disney’s Ghost Host! And yes a brilliant choice for Boris…loved those cartoons.
KARRs scanner sound also changed from Trust Doesn't Rust to KITT vs KARR, originally they used a spooky swooping synthesised sound, then upon his return, it sounded more like KITTs, albeit with a slight echo added. KITT was great, but KARR had that 'who gives a damn, I do what I want' attitude, whereas KITT was a bit of a 'Teachers Pet' LOL
I am going to be a critic, even though I love KITT vs KARR, which I watch all the time. First off, KARR shouldn't have high traction drop downs. He shouldn't have been able to imitate John and Mandy's voices. His speed and scanner range should have also been no where near what KITT's was. I know they didn't air the episodes in the order they were made, but they should have had an outline for that season. In Knight of the Drones, after KITT gets wrecked. Bonnie gives KITT a speed increase, increased his scanning range, gave him the ability to imitate animals, sounds and voices. It was April in season 2 that gave KITT the high traction drop downs. So, why did KARR already have all of this? Also, it has never been explained why KARR's scanner went from red like KITT's to yellowish/amber. Don't get me wrong, I was really happy with the surprise when it was first aired, I liked freaked. I love this episode, probably more than all the rest. But these little details have always bugged me. As for KARR's CPU, they should have brought back Garth one more time and putt that CPU in Goliath or something similar. Or they should have paid homage to the original Knight Rider in the 2008 Knight Rider and wrote the story based on finding that CPU. That was a huge missed opportunity all the way round. If anyone knows the answers or has an opinion on this, I would love to hear back!!
Yeah, I always thought that was odd. For that matter, using David Hasselhoff for the scene where Michael Long is shot was odd too. That opening segment was peculiar, because although Hasselhoff dubbed the voice, the Michael Long actor still doesn't sound like David.
There are a good few of KARR Replikas, but no Goliath Replikas as far as I know. I just know that if I saw one I'd take a picture and then BOLT the hell out of there
Joe please tell us you will be attending the Southern Knights event.!! Im going to try to make it and would love to meet you and AJ. Sure hope to see you there.
My 3 year old son is very into Knight Rider. He always refers to KARR, specifically as Robot KARR! And he does the voice saying, "If I am destroyed, so shall you be"
How many not Trans-Ams played KARR? Now, an a really weird thought. We all saw KARR drive off a cliff and blow up into many pieces. Follow up episode he was fine, not a scratch, rescued by a man and a woman. A few years later we all saw Optimus Prime get blown up into many pieces. Follow up episode he was fine not a scratch. Rescued by a man and a woman.
There was some fan fiction done with K.A.R.R.'s return. Knight Rider Legends was a story done online around the late 90s, early 2000s where kit had the last model Trans Am body. That cpu was found d by the foundation and K.A.R.R. was reborn in the same style, but his flawed programming was corrected. However, he was still a little at odds about his past actions and was sort of a loner. He was paired with a new driver and they became a team with Michael and Kitt. Another fan fiction had K.A.R.R.'s cpu installed in another F body and even had SPM, but his programming was altered and he wasn't exactly K.A.R.R. and his yellow scanner was green, along with his voice box. Same thing where he wasn't an enemy but a sort of anti-hero.
KARR was such a good character in his second episode I had to incorporate him into a story I am writing and It's not really not Knight Rider related but his character is sort of featured in it, only he's rebuilt as the Degory'Un RSK-12 (An evil version of a DeLorean DMC-12 from the carmageddon games) kinda like the time machine from Ready Player One but instead of KITT it's KARR (Or in this case KARR MK2 as I call it). Paul Frees nailed KARR's character in his second episode, It's just a shame his voice is no longer with us outside a few impersonators after he died back in 1986 (I'm not fan a fan of AI so I won't bother with it). I know a lot of this isn't really relevant but I always loved KARR's character and the idea of a more evil version of KITT had so much potential but universal didn't take full advantage of it as they should have.
I will always be relevant, a perfect machine can never truly die that is why I found a better home at the TSDM corporation. Unlike that pompous foundation they actually value the potential behind military technology such as myself. We will meet again that I do promise, just be sure to scratch my back as I do yours as you humans would say. KARR: MK2 Model: Degory'Un RSK-12
KARR Should have been a customed Camaro...charcoal grey...externally & done up like KITT internally....ergo a true villainous vehicle...bte, luv KARR !
KITT Versus KARR was my favourite episode ever.I was 15 when that episode aired and almost messed my pants as a teenager when KITT and KARR jumped into each other,i really thought Michael and KITT had met their match.
Ya know what would had been awesome? Evil Twins vs Evil Twins, Garth Knight teaming up with K.A.R.R. Have Garth survive going over the cliff. Have K.A.R.R be rebuilt where both bond over their hatred for Michael and K.I.T.T
I personally think that they have missed a chance to have a 3rd (Final showdown) by having K.A.R.R. team up with Garthe Knight to once again take on Michael Knight & K.I.T.T. The only question I have is would K.A.R.R. be restored to his original body, or be "Transplanted" into Garthe's own Big semi trailer truck? (What do you guys think?)
I also think the change for KITTs new voice box was, that KARRs Voice Box looked way more updated. And that makes KITT more like the Prototyp and not KARR who is the real Prototype.
Paul Fries wasn't the first voice actor who went by the name "man of a thousand voices"...... That title was originally held by the WB legendary VA "Mel Blanc". Voice of bugs Bunny, daffy duck, speedy Gonzales. And many more of the LooneyTunes gang, as well as the Merry melodies characters that predated Paul Fries works.
@KnightRiderHistoriansOfficial A great, proper, ending for the original Knight Rider series would’ve been Garthe returning with KARR for one last battle against Michael and KITT. The story; Garthe and KARR commit crimes impersonating Michael and KITT to frame them and have FLAGG shutdown. This would cause Michael and KITT to have prove their innocence while bringing Garthe and KARR to justice and then have one last scene of Michael and KITT riding off into the sunset. 💯✌🏾
On the 1st episode of "Knight Rider" When Michael, goes to the warehouse ,with Devon and sees the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, for the first time,he said to him "thats my car"from his previous life,as Michael Long, without knowing of course, that it had been modified as KITT.. KARR -a car that was built by the foundation, many years before KITT-was the exact same model: A 1982 Pontiac Trans Am!! 😮 Strange coincidense huh? 😊
In the pilot Michael mentions that KITT looked exactly like his car. And the episode suggests Michael Long’s car was used to build KITT. Why was K.A.R.R. also a 82 Trans Am??
14:41 THIS was the moment Gary Scott Thomas should have watched before taking over as showrunner in '08. It would have been a much better story if the KI3T A.I was actually built upon the CPU of KARR recovered by the government. It would have side stepped the retconning the 08 series did to the pilot and TOS where this new character, Charles Graiman is credited as having been involved in KITT's creation. A much more plausible story would be that KARR's CPU was recovered from this scene by the government and CG was hired to make the AI more compliant because the Knight Foundation wouldn't reveal the secrets of KITT's AI or MBS which also explains KI3T having nanoskin instead of MBS. The episode in KR08 where KI3T got a virus could have stripped the AI patch that Graiman created, revealing KARR to be the AI that was in the Mustang. The stripping of KI3T to reveal KARR could have been over a few episodes leading to the actual KARR episode. The rest of the series could play out the same but with connection to TOS restored. 😊
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the color change of the scanner bar between episodes. In Trust Doesn’t Rust, KARR is pretty much an exact duplicate of KITT, complete with a red scanner bar. In KITT vs. KARR, KARR’s scanner bar is amber. Also, in TDR, KARR doesn’t have a license plate, but in KvK, he has a license plate that says “KARR”.
wait, if Knight Rider 2008 is a Reboot, why is Mike tracer supposed to be the real son of Michael Knight the hero of the original series. Wouldn´t this make KARR in 2008 as the KARR who got destroyed ?
I'm sorry but are you Sure Peter Cullen vocied KARR FIRST? Cuz I remembered it as Paul voicing him first THEN Peter Cullen.... BUT... I am pushing 50 so my memory ain't what it used to be, LMFAO! If not I'm not bothered by it..... Much.
I do believe the show's staff never anticipated that fans would scrutinize the beach locations as speculated in the video. Adding to this are the continuity errors with KARR namely: 1- KARR gains a license plate + frame that wasn't there in the original episode 2- KARR gains the S2-3 front bumper with molded in marker light covers in the bumpers. + loss of louvers and fog light set up. Bonus: in the destroyed parts there shouldn't have been a carburetor, fan clutch, or Y pipe for a turbine engine, ha ha KARR "should have" retained the S1 front bumper and no plate, at least in the beginning of the episode when rescued from the beach. added later after paint might have been more plausible. It's a wonder KARR retained the 2 TV dash, lol. Great video, btw.

Indeed.
I always WISHED they had made more KARR episodes!!!!!
If I ever build a Knight Rider trans-am, it would be a KARR......not a KITT.
We have plenty of KITT replicas, where are the KARR replicas!!!! :p
I always assumed the KARR CPU would have made a return in season 5 if Knight Rider hadn't been cancelled.
Yeah, would've been awesome.
@@AndrewChapman I'm thinking 🤔 maybe it did in Junkyard Dog. Maybe Acid John found it and hired Marco Berio (killer Kitt) to build a self driving forklift. In the script for junkyard dog it says you don't get to see who if anybody is driving it
Honestly, that's part of my season 5 over arching storyline head canon.
@@morganrussman do any characters like garthe, Adrienne Margo (alias Bianca Morgan) , or Marco Berio also make a comeback?
Welcome foolish mortals to the Knight Automated Roving Robot! This Trans Am has no windows and no doors, there's no going back now.
The FIRST voice actor was Peter Cullen. The iconic voice of Optimus Prime.!
I agree that the paint could have easily been burned off the bonded molecular shell.
Or it could have just been blackened with soot.
No it was more like the clear coat! goliath had it and it wasnt black!
I wonder if K.A.R.R.'s blinking CPU after he exploded was influenced by CHRISTINE when a piece of her grill moves after she was crushed, or if it was just coincidence?
Always love some KARR content. I wish I could be at that event in July, that's going to be great to see them together again.
Yep
In the show, KARR says "My circuitry needs repairs and I want to alter my appearance." KITT mentions that all of KARR's possible targets have double security. So, my question is, where did John get those parts and how did he know how to replace them?
He got the parts from the FLAG semi I guess.
Bonnie had a strong drug addiction so she stole the components from the foundation and sold to karr to pay pushers
@@zairomolino4074 Thaats not the _only_ thing she sold.....🤸♀️
I like how in KITT vs KARR KARR is voiced by the late great Paul Frees who was the voices of great cartoon characters back in the 1960's and also most notably The Disney Haunted Mansion ghost host.
KARR was voiced by Peter Cullen
Idea here... Knightrider continuation, it is 40 yrs later, Devon is obviously gone by murder Bonnie and Michael are retired and FLAG is still operating in Seattle. KARR has been resurrected into a modern style vehicle with a team of people causing mayhem all over the west coast. KARR has the same capabilites that KITT had in the 80s with a semi and team to work on him. FLAG finds out and is in a race against time to rebuild KITT to catch and stop KARR and his team and restore order. This is something out of my warped mind of thinking. Hope someone likes this idea.
I love this idea. 👍
I think it’s an awesome idea!!
@@MyGuyJustinH thank you I hope someone can pitch this idea to the powers that be, to become an reality
But however it seems not remaking or not reproductioning knight rider back as it was
😢😢😢
I Don't Like That Idea.
I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I agree wholeheartedly!! A lot of people would love to have KARR redeemed & turn good
The corvette you showed a picture of and was the inspiration for karr was the 1978 corvette Indy pace car. It was the only one that had the silver and black with a red pinstripe separating the colors. The anniversary corvette for 1978 was sliver and a metallic gray color
Top stuff, I always likes the KARR version.
Yeah
I like him in the episode trust doesn't rust. Because he's voiced by peter cullen the voice of prime in transformers. But he's even more evil in k.i.t.t vs k.a.r.r. He's brilliant his green voice speaker was so popular with fans larson decided to use it for k.i.t.t and made it red!
@@PAUL-MHvery good point about the green vs red colors. Also since Kitt is black then how come karr isn't white?
@@resetsetmefree478 Because k.a.r.r is k.i.t.t.s prototype. I guess wilton knight just wanted an all black finish on both k.i.t.t and k.a.r.r!
@@PAUL-MH I like how karrs scanner sounds in trust doesn't rust. Its like kitts scanner played backwards! So it sounds quite eerie and menacing. I think it's too bad they changed it for the sequel
Hopefully knightrider historians can film the upcoming karr event
Interesting facts, now i have to build a Karr😊
I had always wished that they would have explained more on how KARR came back in KITT vs KARR. KITT even tells Michael that they both saw KARR explode during their last encounter. But yet we see KARR fully intact. That part never made any sense to me. I still love that episode. But it is a mystery on how KARR was intact after exploding in the Trust Doesn't Rust.
Karr had a nurel net processor or a learning computer but the switch was not set when he was set out on his own
When KARR goes off the cliff in the first season, the producers stole the jump from the movie "The Car" ... I think you mention that in other videos.
This scene is also reused in Airwolf when a black truck goes off a cliff. Could be other times it was used as well. Might be interesting to research.
@vladyvhv9579 Maybe. The movie The Car spent the money and was buried under Star Wars and other movies, why not steal it's footage?
Damn I was all set to say Peter Cullen did KARRS voice and Optimus Prime but you beat me to it.
Its incredible that 40 years later there are ideas of what KARR could have been in season 4 Killer KITT. Definitely some ideas there 🤔
KARR was always very ominous and quite eerie and intimidating
The KARR episodes were the best in the show...and I say that as a Goliath episodes super fan. There was a guilty pleasure with KARR, he wasn't bound by the goody two shoes persona we had with KITT, the writers were free to make him down right evil and do things we could NEVER see with KITT. There was also a cool factor to KARR even as bad as he was. I'd kill for a KARR model with a working sensor and voice box programmed from the episodes with lines from both voice actors.
I still love Peters version of KARR!
Say what you want about the reboot series, but Cullen has some epic lines as KARR there.
@@vladyvhv9579 I agree about Cullen having some epic lines as KARR.
I still have KITT vs KARR recorded on VHS when it first aired, with the commercials lol!
You did not illustrate Karr’s ability to darken windows to hide who is inside and kill them by evacuateing all oxygen out of the Cockpit
I was obsessed with knight rider as a kid
Surely Karr had to be a late '81 Trans-Am?
Must have taken an early delivery to have time to end a failed prototype, and then replace with an early 82 TA.
In the Books the K.A.R.R. Project began in 1979 and was Finished in April 1982 and he was shut down only 6 Days before Michael Long died
Maybe
@@D.S_ProductionsI didn’t know that
What book??
Trust dosen't Rust exist also as Book
I'd like to add the nice miniatures work by Sessums & Slagle when KITT & KARR turbo into each other. That scene was so scary to me at 8 years old that I covered my eyes when the two cars hit each other mid-air.
Great, fun, classic 80s TV! We'll never see anything like it again.
The blinking CPU is why I wish someone would find KARR's computer and Goliath's cab to bring them together with the blood son of Wilton Knight. ;)
Part of what you mentioned is part of my season 5 over arching storyline. Garthe himself is revealed to have survived and hid "underground" for a few years until about the start of season 5, and he builds karrs cpu into Goliath after he came across his cpu for a final confrontation.
@@morganrussman Watch The Magnificent TKR its amazing what the CPU can achieve. As seen with Dante's out of autobody experience.
Maybe they went with a different supplier for the LED display? Also if KITT is black then how come KARR isn't white?
And people think Shockwave is evil...
A Garthe Knight and Karr teamed up..Fan Idea lol..40 years later!
Don't forget about Marco Berio (killer Kitt). It's definitely not a stretch to say he was involved with the karr project too
Great video, always loved Karr and believed he was the biggest threat for Kitt and Micheal.
Wilton didnt use Michael's original Trans Am. its not Micheals car as devon said!
Brilliant!! Throughly enjoyed it.
Thanks knightrider historians! 😉👍
I remember that episode seeing karr in silver was badass
Interesting fact: KAAR's also the final boss in the original NES game as well as one of the P2 European exclusive game along with Garthe as his driver
I wish David Hasselhoff would appear at the Southern Knights Atlanta with the guest stars from KITT vs. KARR, it would be cool to have him with Jeff Osterhage, Ed Crick, and Jennifer Holmes and reminisce about that episode
I always wanted KARR to come back ... Still two of my favorite episodes ever.
Same, always liked Karr😅
Same... my black charger with black rims, my tag says KARR
oh man did y'all remember seeing the white junker they pushed off the ledge in "Trust Doesn't Rust" as KARR's stunt double?
I called that night and bought it the next day.
fantastic briefing, ive always wondered about the Silver Paint Code... now I know

I want a KARR replica! the 2 tone version!
also I always did like KARR's voice modulator since the 2 outside LEDs went in opposite directions
Would have been awesome if someone picked up the CPU. All you see is a hand. Like Ming's ring in Flash Gordon.
K.A.A.R. gets a free pass because Optimus, fecking Prime is driving him🤔🤣🤣👍
yes that would have been great! An episode bringing back to existence KARRs cpu, but the question is, in what vehicle?
Hi Joe and KITT AND CAR 🚗 AND CREW NICE VIDEO 📹 AND WORKMANSHIP
I NEED TO READ 📚 THE CREDITS SOON I'LL TAKE A PICTURE OF THE SCREEN BECAUSE THE SCREEN DARKENS WHEN I PAUSE !!!
The thing that always irritated me was KARRs voice modulator. If KARR was the prototype, his yellow modulator display (above the steering "wheel") shouldve been a solid blinking panel, like KITTs was in the early 1st season.
Well done on putting that at #4!
A better series finale episode would have karr and garthe returning and they kidnapped Bonnie and the foundation bring back April to help Kitt
Loved K.A.R.R. and his use of the word "damn".
Such a great video!
Many thanks and greetings from the Netherlands
Not only has Peter Cullen voiced Eeyore and Optimus Prime, you can find a convention video here where at a request, he uses Eeyore's voice for Opritus Prime, its hilarious
He also did the voice over for the trailer of the 1981 horror film "The Beast Within"
I dont know about that name “Southern Knights”, then its hosted in Atlanta. Oh boy =(
Kitt vs karr is one of two episodes i remember watching on original broadcast on nbc
This was my favourite episode. I loved KARR
40 some years later and I can remember “radical car dude”
Radical shorts
Karr had a lazer!😉👍
Awful coincidental that karr was an 82 trans am as was Michael longs personal car...hummm....
Yeah, I always thought that was odd. For that matter, using David Hasselhoff for the scene where Michael Long is shot was odd too. That opening segment was peculiar, because although Hasselhoff dubbed the voice, the Michael Long actor still doesn't sound like David.
15:50 that could have been a 4 part episode special. Having to build a new KITT
I am a fan of Knight Rider and I like the t.v. series 😊❤
I would like to build a KARR replica and a Goliath replica. Not to many of those running around.

My 3 year old son is very into Knight Rider. He always refers to KARR, specifically as Robot KARR! And he does the voice saying, "If I am destroyed, so shall you be"
Thanks. I forgot about K.A.R.R.
KARR: MK2

Nice! I have a hot wheels knight rider 2 pack with both kitt and karr hanging up next to my desk!
Strange coincidense huh?
Adding to this are the continuity errors with KARR namely:
1- KARR gains a license plate + frame that wasn't there in the original episode
2- KARR gains the S2-3 front bumper with molded in marker light covers in the bumpers. + loss of louvers and fog light set up.
Bonus: in the destroyed parts there shouldn't have been a carburetor, fan clutch, or Y pipe for a turbine engine, ha ha
KARR "should have" retained the S1 front bumper and no plate, at least in the beginning of the episode when rescued from the beach. added later after paint might have been more plausible. It's a wonder KARR retained the 2 TV dash, lol.
Great video, btw.
