I've genuinely been wondering if Masuda Method doesn't work in ScVi, because I bred around 2500 Litten eggs when the Indigo Disk released... AND NONE OF THEM WERE SHINY?! I've since tried for other Pokémon with Masuda Method (not up to 2500 but still) and I have received zero shinies. I've genuinely given up with it.
@broccoo It does feel like that after a bit, I had a Froakie go over 2000 eggs and it was my first Masuda in these games... I looked for literally anything I could've been doing wrong but after a little powering through checks I eventually got my target ☺️
I'm not gonna lie, the sheer effort put into this video is astounding. Your presentation style is beautiful and simple to follow and your editing does not get stal over the course of the video. Shiny hunting content on youtube has just been getting better and better and I'm excited to see you continue. Hope the algorithm takes you far!

Honestly, I'm actually considering getting a capture card because my eyesight is getting worse and worse and I would want to play on my laptops bigger screen. Additionally, like you said OBS could be helpful for adding filters to the screen. Is this a good idea and if so, any recommendations of capture cards?
@leminator13 Happy to try and help 😊 Hadn't considered the possibility that it could help with visual impairment but it would probably be really useful with all of the adjustment and filter options... And it's not all too involved to do either 👍 If you want a cheap but good option, I'd go with an Elgato HD60/S, if you want something new I'd go with HD60X. Wish I could recommend other brands but I haven't used them so couldn't confidently give speak to them, hope that helps 🤞
For the masuda , I found if I save before i make the sandwhich and then reset after i hatch all the eggs with no shiny then you don't have to release them :D Congrats on all the shinies !
Something incredibly funny is that using the Cute Charm glitch in a gen 4 game can basically let you farm 3 segmented shiny Dudunsparce. If hardy is in your pool of natures, and if it’s run away(pretty sure this is the correct needed ability), then you can essentially farm shiny ones. Also IMMENSE praise to your patience, especially for Tandemaus and family of 3 Maushold. I recently hunted my first Tandemaus since it was one of the few gen 9 mons I haven’t hunted, and the eye strain was a lot- You have my immense respect for hunting over 50 of them-
I tried to set up a Cute Charm file when I first started messing around with RNG Manips and couldn't get it to work, but for sure want to try and make a challenge around it now I'm more familiar with how it works. Thank you! Also it's more stubbornness than patience I think 🙃 I count myself lucky because I saw some people go well into the hundreds looking the little guy 😅
It needs Serene Grace, not Run Away. A Hardy Serene Grace Dunsparce from gens 3-4 has a 50% chance of being 3-Segment. Excellent odds if you can set it up!

@@Squishna It's kind of a myth confused by facts 🙃 Tandemaus and Dunsparce evolve into different which is why it works, but for evolution stages with forms you can get specific Outbreaks of just them as well... Hope that makes sense 😅

I already knew I was lucky, but it is repeatedly put into perspective how lucky my first ever Violet masuda hunt was. I got my first shiny Sprigatito on the SECOND egg of my first batch of 60 eggs.
fab video! Definitely yoinking that OBS thing for tandemaus cause I still need the family of three. A small tip for anyone hunting Poltchageist, since it's more than likely gonna be an outbreak hunt you shouldn't bother with encounter power, instead find a sandwich with Jumbo, as then you'll be getting larger pots to look at for the colour change, it also means that non outbreak pots aren't going to drift into your authentic outbreak and be counterfeit

Masuda aside, Gen9 is considerably easier to absolutely farm shinies, compared to the games before. Even if it takes 3 or even 5 sandwiches, it's still considerably faster than previously, making them in my opinion not as desireable and just too common :c I want them to be special. Nothing's special about something I can just absolutely grind and farm in less than 30 minutes
True, and I guess it just speaks to what people want out of a hunt... Older games are great for having the story of a journey tied to each shiny along with them just being rarer and more desirable. But it is also nice to go on bigger hunts without it taking up close to a year of my life as well 😅 Admittedly I would like the next games to strike a nicer balance though, bringing back a little bit of that rarity factor 🤞
@Paneye I am pretty biased since those are my favorite Pokémon games but Imho Sword/Shield got that balance right with the shy charm. I know a lot of people disagree due to the lack of special mechanics in those games to boost the odds past charm chances or Masuda. But I think that lack of extra method makes it right. Shinies were supposed to be rare and grindy; now legendary shinies and rare to get Pokémon in general are just being given out as event gifts or straight up sold for special research tickets in PoGO... They are not meaningful and I'm having a hard time finding joy in owning those. The 1/1.3k chance with charm in Sw/Sh is more than reasonable. On average it's taking me about 6 hrs per shiny. That's doable. Even if I'm hardstuck on one, it usually doesn't take too long, all things considered. I believe my longest hunt so far was about 48hrs on some DA legendary
@mewnicorn922 That's a based take, and honestly I agree 👍 They're the closest we've had since the DS era and I think they've struggled to find a balance with the introduction of overworld shinies... But... And I acknowledge this might be a hot take 😅 The Lets Go games did better in this regard, they still forced you to get encounters if you wanted to improve the odds, still giving a method hunt, and weren't ridiculously fast. I just wish the overall games were better 🙃 If I'm not using Masuda in SwSh then I'll usually be hunting in Lets Go... But I also have an origin rule, so once I'm done with Gen 1 & 8 Pokémon I'll be done with those games 😢
@@Paneye Tbf I don't think Let's GO was bad. I do like the encounter method and much easier to keep track of the encounter number on top. I personally just don't like hatching eggs, I prefer encounter in SwSh or soft resetting; the loading screen is pretty fast in those games (unlike BDSP... that shiny Piplup sure does feel special after 1min 38 sec per loading screen + cutscene QQ). I just don't the random encounter method at all and while overworld shinies are nice, there's this OMG!!!! factor I'm missing that I get when I randomly encounter my target in SwSh and it's shiny. That being said, I do love the little sparkles around the shiny in Let's Go. The sparkle sound in PLA is also fine, I just don't like PLA as a game but that's a whole other topic :c

@@Lolz_wazza I found a raid that gave Herba rewards on one of my games and basically farmed the rewards on another 👍 I've got some notes on it in the pinned comment that might help
There was a good mix depending on the risks, the most useful were the obvious False Swipe, Taunt is good for moves like Memento as well as Substitute, Floral Healing and Heal Pulse are also good if Pokémon have recoil moves or start to struggle, hope that helps 👍☺️
@liorkurtak5024 No specific Pokémon really, other than Breloom, which is useful as a Spore user to put Pokémon to sleep consistent, forgot to mention that 😅 Need to keep it as a Shroomish until it learns Spore and then you can let it evolve since it can't learn it otherwise 🙃
@@bren_boigames2901 I reset until I had a raid that gave me Herba Mystica as a reward, then, using my other switch, I kept defeating it, resetting the game that had the raid until I had all the Herbs I needed... Hope that makes sense 🤞
@@jacobcong I have two switches, and basically searched for tera raids on both of them until I found one that gave Herba Mystica as a reward, then just kept farming the raid on game while resetting the other, giving rewards on my main file without losing the raid on the other. Hope that makes sense 🤞
@jacobcong Most people don't have two Switches and two copies of the game so that makes sense 😅 There are people hosting them online, but it felt more legit if I did it myself... Even if it is technically an exploit
A shiny's a shiny no matter how you get it, some people like the journey, some people just like the reward... Not gonna yuck your yum as long you're having fun 😊

It's less patience and more that I'm too stubborn to give up 😅 The trick is to do a batch at a time and take many short breaks

They're an interesting one to do, and more fun if you go in with the idea of seeing how many of the others you'll get before the white one ☺️
How did you get all the herba mystica for all these sandwiches?
@@bren_boigames2901 I reset until I had a raid that gave me Herba Mystica as a reward, then, using my other switch, I kept defeating it, resetting the game that had the raid until I had all the Herbs I needed... Hope that makes sense 🤞

@@jacobcong I have two switches, and basically searched for tera raids on both of them until I found one that gave Herba Mystica as a reward, then just kept farming the raid on game while resetting the other, giving rewards on my main file without losing the raid on the other. Hope that makes sense 🤞

@jacobcong Most people don't have two Switches and two copies of the game so that makes sense 😅 There are people hosting them online, but it felt more legit if I did it myself... Even if it is technically an exploit

I kinda cheat when it comes to shiny pokemon, I watch those Live Shiny Raids on Twitch. I caught at least 50 today.. 😂
A shiny's a shiny no matter how you get it, some people like the journey, some people just like the reward... Not gonna yuck your yum as long you're having fun 😊

@@dorkeboye 100% agree with that ☺️ I think the only downside is with them is some poor shiny colour choices, how small some them can be and performance dips... That sounds worse than it is 😅 I still really enjoy hunting in these games
