It probably chassis slaps against the ramp from being so low slowing things down. I think bigger wheels for that ramp would help. Kev, As a physicist this is how I see it. Its the ramp that needs to be changed to suit the car rather than car needing more speed at this point. Yes sure you obviously need a longer clearer less bumpy run up to provent squirely approach. But if the radius of curvature of the base of the ramp is too tight it increases the compression of the springs, lower ground clearance will result in the collision of the bumpers & chassis with the ramp reducing vertical speed. But also when the springs return/rebound again it pushes the car away from the vertical top of the ramp further reducing height. This will be a feature of the spring stiffness & how quickly it returns & at what position on the ramp the car is when it does. This can be seen in the slow motions & is the reason why the X-Max jumps higher on this ramp as it, by coincidence, suits the ramp well, thus does none of these things as it has more clearance & slower returning springs. I can't see it here but I suspect the xmax spring rebound occurs only after leaving the ramp. Yes yes boring boring woffle woffle i know, but just trying to help you obtain orbit mate, coz I want to see it! Lol! keep having fun!
Epic stuff, just epic. Judging by the car at around 1:20 you need more room as the car motor's not peaked out as the rev noise is still rising. Bear in mind 100mph is 146 feet per second so you need about double the room you were running in, hope that helps

Hey Kevin! If you have a good fire suppression system you could try preheating your batteries. It's a dangerous technique used by high level racers to get the jump on opponents at the start line. I've met racers that had 3 battery packs "cooking" under heating blankets just in case one or two went up in flames. They were literally pulling the battery from the heater and installing it just seconds before the race.

Hey Kev, love your videos for their information and comedy. So thought I’d share some info with you. Just started my XLX2/ 2028 castle setup on my 8s exb and read all of castles info on the XLX2 b/c of your fire issues. I learned that they require 200A connectors if you’re not aware. The XT90’s aren’t rated that high and may be a choke point for your speed runs and contribute to heat. You’re smart and experienced but may be just like me and skip most warnings and instruction manuals. Just wanted to pass this info. The CC 6.5mm connectors are a PITA to assemble but recommended. Keep it up!!

This is the only video I've seen that shows the SkyRC gnss used to measure heights off a jump. Took forever to find it but it was well worth it.
