    I hope this video isn't too much of a deviation from my usual guides and tutorials. I wanted to share my unscripted thoughts and opinions on ESO Home Tours and Update 43 and that makes for a less polished video. I do think this feature/release was a misstep and there should be more of a dialogue with the ESO housing community. For additional context on the quote from ZOS in the video be sure to check out the full thread on the official forums: forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/512076/february-2020-furnishing-limit-status-update/p1.

    Completely agree with all of these suggestions. My biggest want is an overhaul of the furnisher crafting catalogue. I HATE having to scroll for ages to find what I want to craft (the organisation of the catalogue is so unintuitive too). Simply introducing a search function or refined filter system (similar to what we have in banks or guild traders) would be the biggest quality of life improvement for me by far!

    • @yelsung
      @yelsung 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Or having the option to re-order the catalogue by things like 'crafting style' so that I can find all my Fargrave craftables in one place, rather than spread across the catalogue (it's annoying enough having them spread across different crafting stations as it is - especially when these allocations are so unintuitive/nonsensical too).

    • @Kalam0n
      @Kalam0n  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      This is something I've forgotten about thanks to the Furniture Catalogue addon. If I was on console this would be right up there with more slots and a furnishing bag. An all-in-one furnishing crafting station that also featured these sorts of filters would be huge!

    I agree - announcing a "huge housing upgrade people have been asking for" back in January and then that big reveal being a tour system ... underwhelming; not what we wanted. I personally believe increasing item count is a losing battle - no matter how many slots I have, I will always want more. But the solution to that is making more items that create clutter scenes but are just one item, and I do see them doing that. For me, the thing that is a showstopper at this point is the furnishing bag. I have so many houses that are nothing but storage, and when I want to work on a build, I have to travel to each of them to gather things up, try them in the space, then port back around to put those things away and get new things... I just want to be able to stand in a home and have access to EVERYTHING all at once. Doing a build now is ... not fun, just b/c of the storage issues. 100% with you about wanting to be able to have access to the whole palette when I'm building.

    • @Kalam0n
      @Kalam0n  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have been very pleased to see more clutter items and filled bookshelves, but of course now we have hundreds of unique books that I'd rather place. I'm inclined to agree with you on the furnishing bag, we can get creative with furnishing limits, but there's no workaround that grants access to the full palette of furnishings.

    I agree 100%. If we cant furnish a super large home in a satisfying way, why do they exist in first place? Big empty halls? No thank you, for a decorator player it hurts 🥴 So yes, it makes sense to want more smaller houses we can actually get happy with the result. About all the other ideas, I just love them...wish the game team would watch this video with an open mind 🙌🏻 how cool would be having a real guild hall, being able to gather guildies...it would increase the value of housing and community bringing players together in one place in a daily basis.

  • @rainbowstay
    @rainbowstay 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    House tours should've been the "in addition to" the main update. Furniture bag would've been a major game changer.
    Edit: holy crap you're a very organized furnisher, I wish I could have my storage chests like that

    • @Kalam0n
      @Kalam0n  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Furniture Bag + Home Tours would have been an absolute win. Still would have been some 'More Slots!" spam, but I think we would have seen a very positive community reaction - and the frustrating bit to me is that a furnishing bag seems like a very easy thing to add.
      Also, thank you! I do spend far too much time in precision edit mode moving furnishings back and forth a pixel at a time to get things just right, but I love having a nice closet to hide the storage chests (which are kinda ugly imo).

    • @Kalam0n
      @Kalam0n  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I do love those furnishings, but I suspect it's more about the fixed windows on homes. Like when I go inside Water's Edge, I can't see out the window onto my balcony, or see the city out my inn room windows. I'm sure it's because the geometry of the actual play space is completely different than the floorplan/map implies, but I would like to be able to look out the windows of my homes - even if it's just the generic patio and doesn't reflect my decorations. It definitely hurts immersion.

    Alts as houseguests is my number one ask, and for all the reasons you explained. I love your guild hall ideas as well. Another one I've always wanted is more interact-able furnishings, especially bookshelves. It's so frustrating to collect lorebook furnishings and then have to spend time trying to line them up to fit on a bookshelf, which most of them can't anyway.

Contrast this to Palia where you get a 3000...yes THOUSAND - limit. In eso we 350 slots max. unless we sub, in which case we double that to 700. I've also wished for something like this. If you played FFXIV there was a system where you could apply a skin to the exterior of the home, paint the walls, apply wallpaper, swap out the chimney and so on without having to use furnishing slots. I know ESO is built different, but I'd happily settle for one home in each size that had that sort of system - and it would go a long way to easing the furnishing limit pain because we wouldn't have to waste 100 slots to change the style of the home.

    I feel you on wanting a bigger place in the cities, but at the same time having multiple homes in one city has been a major disappointment for me. I don't need an Inn Room and a house in the same place. Having both Summerset houses in Alinor seems a big waste to me.

If you put a 60 slot coffer in the Lunar house. The same coffer should not have the same slots accessible in other houses. EX: I name a 60 slot coffer. Stuff 1. I put Stuff 1 in the Swords Singer Redoubt. Stuff 1 inventory IS NOT available in Twin Arches. I have to rename the 60 slot coffer. Stuff 1-A. Because the same coffer is only available for one home. Not ALL homes. So 8 coffers now technically becomes 8 coffers PER HOME. Long description but I did not know how to shorten my idea. Sorry. BTW: I'm NOT adding my homes to Home Tours.

    Beside more house slots i was hope for Link Portals between houses so guests could visit other places i was hard work on. Like "Here's my main house. Now we go to my library in Apocrypha (too many books furniture to waste slots in main home) and after lets visit pub in crooked forest in Deadlands" And also pets/mounts slots...... they keep shoving into our eyes all that pets and there is no point to buy them bc that dumb limit 😡

    Alts as house guests and to make their inv accessable? Zos would Never, because that would make the Craft bag obsolete - think about it

      Alt inventory access could also just be another ESO+ perk. But even if not, I know I wouldn't cancel my sub just because I could more efficiently use an alt as a storage mule for crafting materials.

    The ancient consoles cannot load more items, that's why we can't have more slots. Console people, just upgrade to a new console, please!!!!

    They probably did this to get newer and returned players to get hyped and into housing, so means more people maybe paying crowns for houses. So they show the hard work housing end game players have done. What a joke

    ESO is an embarrasing bugfest that ZOS doesnt care to fix as long as you keep shoveling money at them. You cant even pvp in cyrodiil cause the lag spikes will eat your inputs. This game is barely more than the failure fallout 76 was, and by the same people. Don't waste your money on this horrible game black desert is better
