  • Here is an excellent flashlight by BLF Q8 which is made by ThorFire. This has a powerful 5000 lumen turbo. This has a very nice feature of infinite level light outputs which is what I like most of all the light mode options. This is a soda can size flashlight. banggood has provided me a special discount code for my channel which is in the video. You can click the link below to purchase this light.

    After 2 years of use I'd highly recommend this light, even though there are brighter options available. If it had USB C charging it would be perfect.

    Nice review Charles! I am on the BLF team, helped work on the design and wrote the firmware. Glad to see you enjoy the ramping - infinite levels is 150, but sure feels infinite! Another important aspect of this light is that's it's basically open source. The prototype design of the driver is posted up on OSHPark and the firmware source code is accessible, downloadable. The infinite level feature was pretty much spec'd out by contributors on the forum, in public -- I simple implemented it, working out the details.

      Yes. In the first batch of 500 pieces, there might have been a 2-3% failure rate, maybe ~20% where the 2 switch LEDs were not even brightness. The switch board was redesigned, and went to using better SMD LEDs, so the first 500 sold out in the first 4 hours, while all lights sold and shipped after that have the new improved switch/LED board, plus other improvements in hardware (screws) and much better assembly QC

    Hello Charles! My BLF Q8 gets very hot, very quickly and I think it needs 1 minute on full power and then I cannot hold it in the hand. Yours does the same, or I have a defective one? Other than that, this is the most powerful flashlight I own.How can I resolve the problem, because I would like to use it normally.Thank you, Charles! Your back yard is now pretty famous, it is known all over the world.Keep the good things going, in the wilderness!

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Running it on turbo it will get hot. You can look at your manual to set the thermos regulation better. As for these soda can sized light, which I have a few, I never run them on turbo for long periods. Pretty much most high power lights are this way. I don't see it as a problem. Does your Q8 cycle down from turbo to high after getting hot? Thanks for watching!
