Great comparison! I just ordered the BLF Q8 cause I like the warmer tint and I think it still has some throw.
Thanks for a great video, good to know it only gets warm, so cooling fins are dissipating heat effectively. Not enough videos go into what temperature a flashlight is running on turbo.
Very good review. i like the comparision of the lights, i have the BLF Q8. it has a combination of throw and flood, and a warm tint. sofirn Q8 has a amazing throw.
i want to buy the sofirn q8 but I just don't see a point of having 6000 lumens in a flashlight that could only be used for 2mins because of the limitations of technology. the lumens drop down to 1200 after 2mins because of excessive heat and not because of battery usage, its just a waste of money. I have the sofirn, sp31.v2. and its the perfect flashlight.
Narsil UI is a bit wonky when you switch to mode sets instead of ramping, it can start blinking out random numbers for no reason. Other than that, the BLF Q8 is a good flashlight.
Отличные фонари! Интересно, они сильно греются при эксплуатации? Это не опасно?
thanks for vid, just ordered 3 Sofirns :)
Hello, how are you, I have a Blf Q8, excellent flashlight, but the ramp has stopped working, the modes change from one to one as in other flashlights, do you know how to return the ramp? or reset to factory settings? if you can help me thank you very much.
I believe it's triple click. Check the anduril UI map on how to go from ramping to stepped modes.
@@LiquidRetro I'll try here, this flashlight is very complicated, thank you very much for your attention.
Ya Andruil UI is complex. There are videos on TH-cam demonstrating it, and there is a muggle mode you might want to consider that simplifies it
@@LiquidRetro In this explanatory video, very good, but I'm from Brazil and I can't understand English very well.

Hi, is the Q8 Pro better than those in terms of throw and flood?
Unfortunately it's going to be a few months. Life is busy right now with personal matters
6000к is usless when is eberithing is wet (rayning for example). No more for 5000k is OK if you wana "see"
what are the best high drain cells out right now to put in the Sofirn Q8? I just ordered the light by itself off Amazon & will purchase cells for it soon.
Samsung 30Q, LG HG2, Sony VTC5 or VTC6 are all good choices. You want a button top cell. I wouldn't recommend buying cells from Amazon. Too many poor quality or fakes.
@@LiquidRetro better to buy it without batteries and take them apart more powerful or are those provided okay?
Great flashlight reminds me of the year nitecore tm28 but the tm22 very expensive light nice light though like the cool white better
Is this bright enough to scare a dog away?
It's a bright flashlight but I would hate to rely upon any flashlight for a defensive position like that. You never know what kind of animal your going to come across
alternate title “jordan peterson tests out cool flashlights”
Can't you just cut the domes off the blf emitters and have the best of both worlds?
далеко светит?
I prefer the BLF, somehow appears to have a bigger light output and love the tint. still enjoying the BLF8 thanks to you.
What is the best batteries for this light? Thanks
I am using button top Samsung 30Q. They were what was originally recommended for the Q8.
What’s the life expectancy
There isn't a lot to go wrong if we'll taken care of. I have a lot of led flashlights and I haven't had one duy during normal proper use.
Great vid man..BTW its SOFIRN..not SOFRIN...both are great, also the Sofirn has a great CW tint and great throw.
@@LiquidRetro Sorry not spelling, but the way you kept saying it...just a FYI..to help you out...ive heard people say the same thing.
Full ramp isn't Turbo. Slight difference in output
the "BFL" always mentioned is annoying
Sofirn Q8👍🏻
🤘🏻ZAШИБИСЬ🤘🏻
Recomend thorfire s70s from banggood (38-40$) with coupon ;)
@@LiquidRetro You can buy one. It's very good in the house, a good flashlight at all. Strong light, good in the hand, good autonomy, sees the distance quite large, for this money is perfect :)
Excellent video. I really like comparison videos, especially when it basically the same light by two different manufactures. I have the original BLF Q8 and so will not be running out to get a Sofirn Q8. But if I was looking, I personally would choose the slightly better throw of the Sofirn. Tint is not as important to me as performance.
Sofirn manufactured the BLF Q8 for Thorfire. Exactly the same manufacturers for both
