You know what the problem is with most dating apps? Your parents can't get on it and pick people for you to date. Looks like Shanghai solved that pressing problem.

But in Chinese culture, families prefer male child because when they get married in the future girls are married out to another family while guys bring in another member into the family. It have to do something with inheritance too

As a person who has lived in China for 5 years and is Chinese, I can tell you that even this is abnormal for me. NOT ALL OF CHINA IS WEIRD LIKE THIS.

I'm a westerner and I don't even think this is that weird.
Perhaps I should clarify, what's weird to me is the idea of shopping for your children's partners. This is odd because in dating apps the user get to choose, while in this parents only choose base on the height, weight and assets of other children.
