    • @deadseven3474
      @deadseven3474 ปีที่แล้ว +290

      Hm. I'd be alright with a few depending on my upbringing. The Forsworn mindsight is a good way to go about it; they don't outright worship the Daedra, but they acknowledge them as greater powers and beseech them for their boons by granting specific offerings. It's a relationship of respect and acknowledgement but not fervent devotion like you'd see with a typical cult

    • @iamcerealman102
      @iamcerealman102 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      I've heard that the gods are shaped by how the people perceive them and because Daedra still hold a lot of their power it comes off a lot stronger which leads to all the chaos and apocalypses

    • @deadseven3474
      @deadseven3474 ปีที่แล้ว +104

      @@iamcerealman102 That is a common theory yes. Because the Daedra are "conscious" they can directly impose their will on Mundus. In contrast, the Aedra would be considered "sleeping", or some other similar state of dormancy. Because they were the creators of Mundus, they have a natural influence over it, but as they are sleeping, they are influenced by how mortal worship perceives them.
      That theory is fun and is a rabbit hole I don't wanna go through in a comment section though, all I know is the Daedra ask me to do something dubious and I get something so long as I follow their terms to the letter.

    Becoming a vampire makes you a gamer
    - thousands of years of 'experience'
    - get to explore Tamriel
    - explore countless worlds
    - feel superhuman with different forms and supernatural powers
    - the sun is your worst enemy
    - struggle to integrate into society
    - hard to disguise your appearance
    - undesired 'bloodlust' could make you do something reckless that harms those around you
    - incredibly isolated unless others of your kind are around you
    - many start looking down on 'normal' people, and treat them like cattle
    - monster in the eyes of the people and the gods
    - can still be killed
    - if Todd Howard, the creator, has some sort of claim to your soul, you could be in for an eternity of misery

    Hypothetically If a slain vampire could make their way to the cliff of failures there's a very small chance of being able to return to Mundas. (Beyond the challenges there's the overseer to deal with who's constantly changing the rules and egging contestants on never really letting anyone win)
    Canonically the only being recorded as far as legends go is the vestige (the protagonist of ESO)
    They threatened the overseer by saying they'd stick around and muddle up challenges until the overseer agreed to let the captured mages go (it's pretty funny)
    Hands down the vestige is by far the most powerful hero to have ever existed as far as playable characters and it lies in what Molag Bal did to them. (Something he's immensely proud of and arguably the whole reason he set into motion the planemeld)
    Essentially the vestige is a daedric Simulacrum. (Much like a Daedra they are incapable of truly dying)-add this with their ability to absorb energy and power from people and objects-
    Those who've played the Daggerfall covenant questline might recall how (a niece of Tharn's) came to use King Emeric to lure the vestige to a plane of Atherius where she knew the vestige could truly be slain.

    I'd probably go for it especially if I was let's say the last dragonborn who technically isn't limited to One soul.... As a dragonborn every time he absorbs the soul of a dragon he claims ownership of that soul... If every daedric Lord is owed a soul they still get a soul because there's enough to go around... Specifically a blank soul with nothing on it which it arguably be even more valuable especially with the kind of power a dragon soul holds in comparison to a normal mortal one... If it's a blank soul then they could put whatever they want on it!!!
    For context akatosh defeated dagon with what we now knows to be the thum and he's actually weaker than dagon but that's irrelevant because he knows the thum and dagon seemingly does not...
    This could be a massive power increase for any daedra Lord that gets a dragon soul of course they would go for this deal!!!
    Meanwhile the last dragonborn sends the soul that actually stores him to whatever afterlife he wants...
    Edit: before you argue that you destroy those souls to learn the words of power... That's likely just a gameplay mechanic you still have that dragon soul you just can't extract any more knowledge from it... It may also be more closely tied to your being now but that would likely change if you were dead....
    To summarize I don't think you destroy the actual dragon soul you just destroy the mind stored on the soul making it blank and belong to you by default... A soul that is not processing anybody and the daedra could put whatever or whoever they want on it the problem is it's now closely tied to your being... Which could easily and would most likely change upon your death.... Allowing you to give that blank soul to whatever daedra that is owed your soul in place of the one you're actually using

    One concept I've never seen explored is the effects of immortality on the human mind and psyche. What would thousands of years of memories do to a brain only adapted to live for a hundred at most? What if you live for so long that, after a time, trying to remember anything is like shuffling through a rolodex rather than a database? How long before you made a slip up that exposed your true nature, repeatedly, leaving you with nowhere left to go? One fatal slip and it's Cold harbor forever....

  • @schmittybacall1655
    @schmittybacall1655 ปีที่แล้ว

    Depends on the version I get. In morrowind and oblivion, the drawback of actually being able to die from sunlight is a legitimate issue and makes you think about whether the powers granted are worth the drawbacks or not. In base Skyrim and ESO, the drawbacks are not nearly as great, just being that you’re weak to fire, and in skyrim if you’re starved, you’ll be attacked by townsfolk. Also in skyrim, you’re three status bars will no longer passively regenerate in the sun, so this is another drawback though not one that is as worrying since potions make this negligible, add on being a dark elf and the only drawback is starvation. With the dawnguard expansion, there is virtually no reason to not be a vampire as you can become a vampire lord, one of the strongest monsters in Elder Scrolls. You gain a slew of new powers and the previous drawback of being attacked by townsfolk while starved is (at least as far as I’m aware as I was never attacked while at level four starvation and a vampire lord) no longer an issue. The only problem is that if you die as a vampire lord then you’re soul is automatically sent to coldharbor, which is not a place you want to spend your afterlife, so I’d say that the best bet is to only use vampirism as a way to get any unfinished business over with and help the world become a better place, then when you’re ready, turn back into a mortal and worship the god of your choice until you die, and hope they claim you instead of Molag Bal.

    Pro: immortal, ungodly powerful, immune to disease, can become immune to sunlight like serana and can survive by feeding on bandits, forsworn, stormcloaks, daedra worshippers, the annoying fan (be honest he's to evil to be dead😂) and cannibals.
    Cons: if weak willed might lose control.
    Serana has been a vampire since before tiber septim was born yet she's calm, understanding, caring never feeds on innocent, is immune to sunlight (she says herself sunlight is annoying NOT deadly) and is actively opposed to harming innocent people. Never once has it been implied, stated or said she has hurt an innocent person. Yes technically it's the "daughter of coldharbor" effect that makes her as normal as she is but alchemy, magic and (Russian accent) sheer fucking will (Couldn't help myself😅) can have the same results. In skyrim I survive by drinking thalmor... let's be honest thalmor are the vorcha of skyrim there are to many and no one misses them... I mean technically dragon priest are immortal due to lichdom which is caused through a mix of alchemy, magic and great personal sacrifice... that being said if you want to be immortal... truly immortal just mantle uncle sheo (I have it on good authority from a reliable source that the isles are lovely this time of year or at the least "horribly wonderful" lmao)
