Well at least Bandai-Namco finally figured out with success of both Cyber Sleuth games, the Cyber Sleuth collection, and Digimon World: Next Order in the west that hey there are Digimon fans in the west that'll buy these games and revealed that the next two games coming out Digimon Survive, and the next Digimon Story game will get western releases.
Rumble arena 2 was amazing. I probably spent atleast 5 hours playing it everytime it was started. Me and my brothers would always play it. So it has a special place in my heart.
King Koopa thank you I scrolled down just to see this comment. I've played all the games and world 3 was my fav. Imo it has the best story/plot. hardcore grinding. Card battles. A complete jrpg from start to end. I couldn't feel the same with the other games.
it doesnt deserve. The exploration might be very fun and the world is pretty huge and interesting, but battle system are barebones and encounter rate is insane
Renaldi Saputra no one plays these games for exploration. These games are fun because of the digimon, and world 3 was the first to truly give us not only favorites like Imperialdramon, Omegamon, Renamon, etc. But it makes them all accessible regardless of things like base forms, starters, or stats. Also the models they were all given were simply wonderful. I get really tired of digimon games making them all around the same size to one another. World 3 is definitely one of the top 3 digimon games and that's that.
I play World 3 (and 2003 the completed version) and the exploration is basically the highest aspect of the game, especially how you can travel to another sector. Fan favorite digimon? those had nothing to do for why it deserved to be top. Dawn/Dusk included 396 digimon and nobody praised the game for including the fan favorites. Also the bad parts of World 3 is that your digimon partner is anythingmon, no matter what digimon you choose, you can evolve into any digimon. The 3d model is probably one of the worst part of the graphic. The game introduced in 2002 but the 3d still had so much low res. 2d arts in World 3 is simply the best one though. Making the same size digimon to one another? Oh c'mon, Cyber Sleuth had more realistic digimon size, and in World 3, Dukemon is big as fuck, Greymon is small as fuck, and many enemy digimon are big as fuck too...
In my opinion between the games including the fighting 3 was the worst. I much preferred the other worlds which little disappointed 4 didn't make the list and the rumble games were pretty fun.
I actually loved Rumble Arena 2. Sure it's "story" wasn't even close to being anything, it has a really strong Smash Bros feeling while also having its own unique feeling that made it so great. The levels were diverse, there were plenty of Digimon to pick from (although some were questionable choices), the music and sound effects were great (glitchy at times but still great)...overall, it was a solid fighting game.

I played it a ton when I was a kid! Me, my sister and my cousins would all take turn playing it and would scream in agony when Whamon and Seadramon would make that ghastly dragging noise when they walk. To this day, my sister is the only one whom has gotten a Meramon.

Everyone always says that the Pokemon games are better than the Digimon games and the Digimon anime is better than the Pokemon anime. Obviously I agree with the anime thing, only Pokemon fanboys would disagree with that, but I will say something about the Digimon games that I never said about the Pokemon games, the Digimon games are actually challenging.
TV247 The Cybersleuth extra quests destroyed me. Having to fight Imperialdramon Paladin Mode who could spam a skil that would one-shot all your active Digimons was hell ! Jesmon really was our Lord and Savior in this quest !
I miss having a working copy of the first Digimon game, I went through two of them since I played it so much one of the disks warped and the other snapped. Q ~Q I'll have a part of my heart that is stronger for digimon then for pokémon, while I like both I prefer the Digi to the Poké.
I still haven't fucking beat Lucemon in Cyber Sleuth. I had Jesmon, UIForceVeemon, Marine Angemon, Silphymon, Belphemon RM, Kentarosmon, Omnimon and still couldn't beat him. Dudes an ass. Especially with the instakill thing.
Some of Tamers and Frontier was good, but Adventure 01 was way more childish than any Pokemon season ever. That said Digimon World is my favorite PS1 game, with Digimon World 3 pretty high as well.
I dont see how people liked DR2 there wasnt that many characters or levels, plus there were just reskined characters like blackguilmon, just black versions of them, they didnt even have the human characters like the first game did, idk i liked the first game better.
Next Order is my all time favorite only because I find it to be insanely relaxing. If I’m feeling anxious, upset, or after a panic attack the mellow music and micro managing just zen me.
I thought most people hate Data Squad with how low received it was by critics. Personally, I like Data Squad, it had a solid turn based combat for me.. but the nostalgic factor also could play into my experience.
I liked Digimon World Data Squad, but personally I agree with the placement of Cyber Sleuth on this list. I would definitely have Data Squad in my top 10, just not at the number 1 slot. I also would have Digimon World 4 on my list.
Not many people played data squad :/ If it's rated bad by IGN or someone else, then by default it's a bad game... I always hated critics, because if they love something it's a 99 score. Like "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME" Score of 99 metacritic.... like wtf :/
digimon world 1 and next order will always be in my top 10 the idea of actually raising digimon training and building a bond is something very unique to the games
Ikr! And its not just that but the adventure and recruiting digimons to the city was so much fun since it has different approach/conditions for every recruitable digimons

raidpirate 52 True, they tried something new and it worked, and I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Don't know what's there not to like. Kouji Wada's soundtrack, the story and everything else, except the animation.... because it's Toei.
I think digimon world 2's biggest issue was being so slow paced. It takes forever to watch all the attacks unfold after giving the commands. It's so satisfying when you finally have an amazing team built up. Same for dusk/dawn, although not as slow, and the digivolution system is simpler. All of those titles are much more enjoyable emulated so you can frameskip imho.

It's the one I'm currently playing now and I'm having a total blast! It's the first Digimon game I ever played and had fun with since Digimon World 3! This game finally allowed me to do what I've always dreamed of: getting Veemon, my favorite Digimon of all time. Here's hoping that Hacker's Memory lives up to the hype!

That magical moment when you beat the game and out of nowhere BlackWargreymon appears and after beating him you unlock it as a PC to demolish the game.

Not gonna lie, but I want to try out a few Digimon games even though I'm a huge Pokéfan. No, I'm not one of those Pokéfans who'll talk shit about the Digimon franchise, but I'm interested of these Digimon games. But most importantly, which Digimon games should I try out for beginners?
As a Digimon fan that have already tried almost all of them I should advise 2 options: 1- If you own a PS4 or plan to get one, try Cyber Sleuth or it's "sequel" Hackers Memory. 2- On the other hand, if by being a pokemon fan you already own a 3/2DS you can try Digimon World Dawn/Dusk Both are nice games, but CyberSleuth have a difficulty selection screen at the beggining of the game, so it's a little more begginer friendly. Dawn/Dusk are good, a little simple mission based rpgs but can be a little grindy.
Oh yeah, you could also try Next Order. Is the most friendly of the World series. It would be good to note that digimon games are divided in 2 main series: World and Story I recomend Story ones since they are your regular monster collector rpg, but the world series is more of an adventure. Taking care of your companion, feeding it and training to achieve evolution, it have some charm.
Cyber sleuth for PS4 I would recommend (Not the Side Story Hackers Memory) While HM is a good game you will understand more of the plot by playing the original Cyber Sleuth. Digimon World Dawn and Dusk for the PS4 is also really good, its far shorter and a more primitive version of Cyber but if you dont have alot of time and want to see a massive roster I recommend it

There’s an edition of Cyber Sleuth that switches out it’s OST with music from the anime! In terms of what game it would be, i really dont care so as long as i am able to collect the 13 royal knights, 7 great demon lords, and the Olympus 12, its a digimon switch game worth buying xD

Bless you dude quick heads up Cyber Sleuth has a concurrent game called hackers memory that adds way more Digimon. If you’ve got a switch both games come as a 2 in one package
I can honestly say I hadn't played a Digimon game in years, and I picked up cyber sleuth / hackers memory for the switch on a whim... 10 out of 10. SOLID GAME
I am so glad that my two favorites are on here! Digimon world Dusk and Dawn were the first ones I ever played and are still some of my favorites in game play and roster. The soundtrack is sweet too. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and its Sequel or Companion depending on how you see it are must plays for fans. My only real gripe with Cyber Sleuth is that the Digimon who are the Royal Knights are not obtainable until you beat special missions. I want my Gallantmon!! The Companion game Hacker's Memory does better on that point, only locking one route if I am not mistaken due to storyline, however some digimon are just incredibly difficult to get to.
DW3 is in my opinion the most enjoyable digimon game ever ( it has alot of cool features " mechanics " and so on , also decent playing hour and plenty of content and hidden items , and the most exceptionally great music) hands down my favorite game ever , please BANDAI make it playable on PS4
As a Pretty Old Digimon Fan watched it since it came first to RTL2 (Im a german person) i adored and loved the Digimon-series and its really as they said that some games havent come to the west. And it helped me to decide what game i should play now!
I take issue with steering clear of rumble arena 2, it was amazing, better mechanics and arenas and the inclusion of Blackagumon and Blackgabumon made it head and shoulders above a number of other games at the time; so much so that Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is one of the few PS2 games I still own
Still DR2 removing renamon was a sin cause renamon was god tier in DR some lost interest in DR cause they removed one of not only fan fav. Digimon but is part of a trio and what do we get in exchange recolors of an existing digimon in the roster that alone made DR fans wanna drop DR2 well some of em anyway
I like Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth quite a bit. The Digimon World games are fun, even if they have their flaws. Card Battle was pretty fun too. I haven't really played the Rumble Arena games, but I need to. Oh Next Order was pretty good, it improved a lot upon the ideas presented in the first Digimon World.

Pokémon may be more iconic. have more iconic characters....digimon is far superior. It has the better story and betters "mons". Digimon has place in my heart. I just starting to watch Digimon adventure tri, my favorite mobile game right now is a fan made digimon game (uses the likeness, names, etc but doesn't actually use the term digimon anywhere) and even have a little agumon plush sitting on my shelf
Well it has better story, even better selection of digimon's, lot more balanced for online matches and more beginner friendly at start while becoming lot harder in end game compared to original but it does suffer from reusing EVERY area and character from first game while dialog goes on way longer compared to original for both good and bad ways.
Holdddddd on.....hackers memory is amazing but the original is better, hackers memory doesn't feel like a full game, if you didn't play the original you'll find many things that you'll not understand, if you use your same file from the original you'll miss out on a lot of stuff, I had 249 Digimon unlocked when I started, I feel like it should've been a different type of Digimon collecting not just adding a couple to the previous one, the map as well, you don't get to explore the whole thing when playing the story which is just a missed opportunity, the story is amazing ngl but it picks up waaay too late, the original story picks up earlier and is a little bit more interesting
aboodi tayeh hackers memory isnt even suppose to be the full experience when it was a side project to give fans something when the real next game is taking lot longer to make

I like cyber sleuth, because it's almost similar to (dare I say it...) Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, when you can solve mysteries until you get to the bottom of the main case. Except you play as an original character without the necessity of customization and you only have one partner. Plus, you can't battle other monsters.

Funny, I just recently picked Digimon World 2 back up for the 132nd time as an adult and just surpassed my furtherest point I'm the game as a kid, and I'm so happy. Seeing it at number 10 feels wrong but then again I've only stuck to the "World" series so far. I have super fond memories of all 3 first games, and 3 is next

Cyber sleuth is better than Dw3 thou like way better cause you have 3 active digimons plus guest characters rather than 1 active and 2 reserves ...... Cyber sleuths reserve slots are a lot which is a lot compare to the reserve digimon you can bring in Dawn and dusk downside you need memory up to keep the larger digimons but that's fine

i pretty much think the same list except for the top 4. Cyber Sleuth is actually the best Digimon Game and it really deserves to be N°1 on this list, the second place should totally be Decode. it's Re:Digiteze, Extended, and with a huge impact in the Lore of the franchise. right after it, should be The original Digimon World at thrid place. it's a really nice game, but Re:Digitize has just the very same gameplay style with playability fixes and better graphycs, Plus Original World lacks a bit in it's plot. finally, Next 0rder at top 4 seems the most Accurate. it's a really good game, but withing the World Saga is the the less good. it's eay Too friendly compared to the other games

They went back to doing stories and tamagotchi gameplay which made cyber sleuth and next order their best game like they literally blew current Pokémon games out the water like pokemon is starting to have issues a lot of them and digimon used thier failure and learn like dawn and dusk were good gameplay wise but was bad story wise then they improve it by making cyber sleuth which had both good gameplay and story as for dw4 I dunno much about it cause I only own 1-3 now I do know it was a hack n slash game which was weird cause that's the first and last they did a hack n slash gameplay

Digimon World, the first one, was my absolute favorite. I even kept the PS disc for YEARS until finally selling it online a few years back. I would love to play it again haha xD Raising the Digimons were a struggle. Could never get the Digimons I wanted from training though X_X"

Digimon World 3 is the one I enjoyed the most (haven't played all games). The card game is simply addictive.

I miss having a working copy of the first Digimon game, I went through two of them since I played it so much one of the disks warped and the other snapped. Q ~Q I'll have a part of my heart that is stronger for digimon then for pokémon, while I like both I prefer the Digi to the Poké.
I still haven't fucking beat Lucemon in Cyber Sleuth. I had Jesmon, UIForceVeemon, Marine Angemon, Silphymon, Belphemon RM, Kentarosmon, Omnimon and still couldn't beat him. Dudes an ass. Especially with the instakill thing.
Some of Tamers and Frontier was good, but Adventure 01 was way more childish than any Pokemon season ever.
That said Digimon World is my favorite PS1 game, with Digimon World 3 pretty high as well.

I thought most people hate Data Squad with how low received it was by critics. Personally, I like Data Squad, it had a solid turn based combat for me.. but the nostalgic factor also could play into my experience.
I liked Digimon World Data Squad, but personally I agree with the placement of Cyber Sleuth on this list. I would definitely have Data Squad in my top 10, just not at the number 1 slot.

I think digimon world 2's biggest issue was being so slow paced. It takes forever to watch all the attacks unfold after giving the commands. It's so satisfying when you finally have an amazing team built up.
Same for dusk/dawn, although not as slow, and the digivolution system is simpler.
All of those titles are much more enjoyable emulated so you can frameskip imho.

Not gonna lie, but I want to try out a few Digimon games even though I'm a huge Pokéfan. No, I'm not one of those Pokéfans who'll talk shit about the Digimon franchise, but I'm interested of these Digimon games. But most importantly, which Digimon games should I try out for beginners?
As a Digimon fan that have already tried almost all of them I should advise 2 options:
1- If you own a PS4 or plan to get one, try Cyber Sleuth or it's "sequel" Hackers Memory.
2- On the other hand, if by being a pokemon fan you already own a 3/2DS you can try Digimon World Dawn/Dusk
Both are nice games, but CyberSleuth have a difficulty selection screen at the beggining of the game, so it's a little more begginer friendly. Dawn/Dusk are good, a little simple mission based rpgs but can be a little grindy.
Oh yeah, you could also try Next Order. Is the most friendly of the World series.
It would be good to note that digimon games are divided in 2 main series: World and Story
I recomend Story ones since they are your regular monster collector rpg, but the world series is more of an adventure. Taking care of your companion, feeding it and training to achieve evolution, it have some charm.

Cyber sleuth for PS4 I would recommend (Not the Side Story Hackers Memory) While HM is a good game you will understand more of the plot by playing the original Cyber Sleuth.
Digimon World Dawn and Dusk for the PS4 is also really good, its far shorter and a more primitive version of Cyber but if you dont have alot of time and want to see a massive roster I recommend it

I am so glad that my two favorites are on here! Digimon world Dusk and Dawn were the first ones I ever played and are still some of my favorites in game play and roster. The soundtrack is sweet too. Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and its Sequel or Companion depending on how you see it are must plays for fans. My only real gripe with Cyber Sleuth is that the Digimon who are the Royal Knights are not obtainable until you beat special missions. I want my Gallantmon!! The Companion game Hacker's Memory does better on that point, only locking one route if I am not mistaken due to storyline, however some digimon are just incredibly difficult to get to.
DW3 is in my opinion the most enjoyable digimon game ever ( it has alot of cool features " mechanics " and so on , also decent playing hour and plenty of content and hidden items , and the most exceptionally great music) hands down my favorite game ever , please BANDAI make it playable on PS4
Also the most unique thing is the starters " bearmon, monmon, kotemon" ( also featuring some of the Olympic 12)

As a Pretty Old Digimon Fan watched it since it came first to RTL2 (Im a german person) i adored and loved the Digimon-series and its really as they said that some games havent come to the west. And it helped me to decide what game i should play now!
I take issue with steering clear of rumble arena 2, it was amazing, better mechanics and arenas and the inclusion of Blackagumon and Blackgabumon made it head and shoulders above a number of other games at the time; so much so that Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is one of the few PS2 games I still own
Still DR2 removing renamon was a sin cause renamon was god tier in DR some lost interest in DR cause they removed one of not only fan fav. Digimon but is part of a trio and what do we get in exchange recolors of an existing digimon in the roster that alone made DR fans wanna drop DR2 well some of em anyway

I like Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth quite a bit. The Digimon World games are fun, even if they have their flaws. Card Battle was pretty fun too. I haven't really played the Rumble Arena games, but I need to. Oh Next Order was pretty good, it improved a lot upon the ideas presented in the first Digimon World.

Pokémon may be more iconic. have more iconic characters....digimon is far superior. It has the better story and betters "mons". Digimon has place in my heart. Well it has better story, even better selection of digimon's, lot more balanced for online matches and more beginner friendly at start while becoming lot harder in end game compared to original but it does suffer from reusing EVERY area and character from first game while dialog goes on way longer compared to original for both good and bad ways.
Holdddddd on.....hackers memory is amazing but the original is better, hackers memory doesn't feel like a full game, if you didn't play the original you'll find many things that you'll not understand, if you use your same file from the original you'll miss out on a lot of stuff, I had 249 Digimon unlocked when I started, I feel like it should've been a different type of Digimon collecting not just adding a couple to the previous one, the map as well, you don't get to explore the whole thing when playing the story which is just a missed opportunity, the story is amazing ngl but it picks up waaay too late, the original story picks up earlier and is a little bit more interesting

I like cyber sleuth, because it's almost similar to (dare I say it...) Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, when you can solve mysteries until you get to the bottom of the main case. Except you play as an original character without the necessity of customization and you only have one partner. Plus, you can't battle other monsters.

Cyber sleuth is better than Dw3 thou like way better cause you have 3 active digimons plus guest characters rather than 1 active and 2 reserves ...... Cyber sleuths reserve slots are a lot which is a lot compare to the reserve digimon you can bring in Dawn and dusk downside you need memory up to keep the larger digimons but that's fine

Cyber Sleuth is actually the best Digimon Game and it really deserves to be N°1 on this list, the second place should totally be Decode. it's Re:Digiteze, Extended, and with a huge impact in the Lore of the franchise. right after it, should be The original Digimon World at thrid place. it's a really nice game, but Re:Digitize has just the very same gameplay style with playability fixes and better graphycs, Plus Original World lacks a bit in it's plot.
finally, Next 0rder at top 4 seems the most Accurate. it's a really good game, but withing the World Saga is the the less good. it's eay Too friendly compared to the other games
