My 2024 Jeep Gladiator Just Arrived Today on Everyman Driver

- The 2024 Jeep Gladiator is a great midsize truck for drivers who pack a lot of gear and tackle hard-core off-road trails. The Gladiator is well suited to all types of terrain, but in Rubicon guise, it has few rivals when it comes to tackling rocky trails at slow speed. The Mojave model is equally adept at keeping pace in higher-speed off-road environments. But unlike some competitors, even the base Sport model is a solid off-roader right from the factory. Plus it can be upgraded with an exhaustive line of aftermarket parts. It’s easy to find parts for these Jeeps, largely because from the cab forward, the Gladiator is a Jeep Wrangler. Like the Wrangler, the Gladiator comes with either a soft-top or hardtop, making it the only convertible pickup truck on the market. With a maximum payload of 1,725 pounds and a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds, the Gladiator and its 5-foot bed are well suited for real work.
The 2024 Gladiator gets a new Wrangler-like grille and an impressive new interior with optional power-adjustable seats, a new instrument panel, and an excellent 12.3-inch touchscreen. New trail-focused Mojave X and Rubicon X models include more standard luxury and off-road equipment, and the Willys model is more capable, too. But at the core, the Gladiator is the same machine it’s been since its launch in 2020.
Under the hood is a 285-horsepower V6 that can be paired to a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. It’s the only engine choice, unlike the Jeep Wrangler, which has four powertrain options. And the V6 is a bit old-tech compared to its turbocharged rivals. Off-the-line acceleration around town is acceptable, but other trucks, such as the Chevrolet Colorado offer more potent engine options.
The very things that make the Jeep Gladiator an impressive off-roader create a less street-friendly driving experience. The Gladiator uses an old-tech solid front axle while every other midsize truck has an independent front suspension that delivers a better ride and much more precise steering. Similarly, the Gladiator has a bit rougher ride than other midsize trucks. That said, the Jeep has a style and charisma that few can match: It looks purposeful and rugged.
Midsize pickup trucks are about to have a major renaissance. This year alone, there are updated versions of the Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger, and Toyota Tacoma. That means that every midsize truck will be all-new except for the Gladiator. And though the Jeep is incredibly capable and benefits from this year's upgrades, it's still less refined than its rivals.

I believe you said these are at MSRP for around $55,000? Where on earth are you finding them for that! The lowest priced ones near me are at MSRP for $65,000!!!! NO WAY they are worth that.

These are $15000 below MSRP on West Coast.
Selling for over 10k below MSRP lately. Jeep needs to lower the prices. These are so unyielding. Ride awful. Can’t carry much. Not maneuverable. Not much power. Terrible MPG. Jeep Reliability. Not good! Jeep has seen 35% decrease in sales since 5 yrs ago. Toyota needs to bring back removable Top 4 Runners.
I had one of these as recently a rental for a week and drove it all over Utah and Idaho. I didn’t find it to have any of those driving characteristics you described. It was actually pretty fun. I don’t know that I would want to own one long term because of the Jeep reputation for poor reliability though.
@@edhcb9359 I'm the same way in which I love the styling and the ability to drive without a roof and doors, but the questionable reliability prevents me from buying one and only renting one during trips

@@edhcb9359 huh? You should get some real utility in return compromising so much on even remotely modern day mpg. It’s got the bed of Tacoma short bed, and quality of a Jeep. There’s a reason they sell poorly and are heavily discounted.
This might be a dumb question. Why do car company's have so many tiers of a car model? Like example Chevy LS, LT, LTZ Colorado. Why do Automotive Company's constantly keep shooting themselves in the foot? Why can't they just offer one model fully loaded just sale them that way? All the metal, tech, microchips, rubber, plastic, leathers, cloth etc. that are in cars, trucks, vans, etc that don't sell is just wasted money? Ford, GM etc continue to go in debt. Why can't they learn from their mistakes? I'm just dumb Hillbilly. Just my observation.
