    I’ve had one for a year now and I love it. I live in St Kilda, Victoria and drive it country, but primarily urban and so far I can’t fault it. For it’s size it drives extremely well around town and it’s got an engine in it that’s been around for 10 years now matched with an outsourced German made 8 speed transmission, so I’m not so worried about reliability.

    I've driven Wranglers for 25 years, the main purpose is to get the roof and doors off and hit the dirt, what else does this?? anything else it does is great. The tray on this is great for bikes or whatever, light loads from bunnings. don't compere it to the big seller duel cabs, they are not the same.

    my question: have jeep change their mind on honoring their warranty? A car company can give a 99yr warranty but if they simply deny everything that goes wrong with it, the warranty means nothing.

    If this was mine, I would remove the doors, roof and drop the windscreen and then cruise a beach such a Stockton, north of Newcastle. The gladiator is built for fun, so even just cruise with the roof off, and a couple of mountain bikes in the back.

    Reliability and service is part of any product. Especially 1 that has a history of not supplying both, the process used to make and support this product are simply the let down, looks are subjective, I like the looks but would never consider one due to the mentioned issues and yes you will find some people that have no problems, unfortunately they are the exception. Looking forward to see your Impressions🙂

    Challenge: make it good for overlanding and off-road with extra +350kg overlanding gear in its rear bed. by off road i mean real off road, rocks and mud...hard core like jeep should do.
    The factory springs won't take this kind of load, try to find a product that would.

    Simple. Jeeps are built to be durable and capable off-road. I want to see it climbing rock steps, where the other IFS utes snap their CV joints. Rubicons come with mud terrains, so get it muddy.

    why did you buy the rubicon when you just could have bought the Sahara for cheaper? Rubicon is vastly overrated.

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, the Sahara is...that's why we got Rubicons instead. People who call Rubicons "overrated" are usually those who couldn't afford one...and no one listens to what they say anyway.

    • @matthewrafferty4117
      @matthewrafferty4117 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well you can either buy the entry level Night Eagle or the Rubicon. They are the only 2 models and with all the extra kit the Rubicon is the better buy.

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewrafferty4117 Don't forget the NEW (2023) model Chevy Colorado ZR2 (another off-road-focused mid-size truck) -- Chevy UPGRADED it big-time, and now (IMO) it truly IS a competitor of the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. In fact, I'd call them pretty much equal out on the trail: What one can do, so can the other. On the hwy, the ZR2 would likely ride better given its Independent Front Ssuspension (IFS), but the Gladiator is still a VERY comfortable smooth-riding vehicle for long road trips (I've done 2 so far, each about 2,000 miles round-trip) but I'm guessing the ZR2 would have a slight "comfort" edge on the hwy.

    The issue with the Wranglers and many other Jeeps is their horrible reliability. Every top ten worst reliability report has 3 to 4 Jeep models listed. Aussies need to be very careful when considering a Ram, Jeep or any Chrysler made products for that matter.

      If you mod, you have to consider your warrenty.

    • @billredding2000
      @billredding2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rachelhaynie1224 True, some mods could put the owner in "questionable" territory when it comes to warranty issues (and doing DF/S things off-road to abuse your vehicle could, too), but the "cosmetic" mods should be fine.
      I'm keeping MY Gladiator stock as it's WAY mroe capable already OEM/factory than I'll likely ever need, so nothing serious like larger tires, more lift or re-gearing will happen, nor will any electronic device like a Tazer be used (engine performance is FINE as-is).
      However, I HAVE done 4 minor "mods" -- but not for looks (don't care about that silly/adolescent vanity stuff) but for practical usefulness: Redline Tuning gas struts for raising the hood; locking Mopar gas cap (the one you key to your OEM Jeep FOB key); Undercover UltraFlex hard/tri-fold bed-cover and lastly replaced the OEM Jeep wipers with Rain-X Endura silicone wipers. That's all.
      I doubt a Jeep dealership's "Service" dept could use any of that against me. Hopefully! ;-)
