- Iron Banner has returned this week in Destiny 2 and with it comes a revamp for the Archon's Thunder Machine Gun, and most importantly, the brand new Tinasha's Mastery Stasis Rocket Assisted Frame Sidearm. This weapon is quite literally one of the best weapons in Destiny 2 history. Rocket Sidearms are broken as it is, but this one adds insult to injury with Chill Clip. Having a rocket sidearm that can freeze anything in just 3 shots is amazing not only for add clear, but for stunning champions as well, making it a very handy tool for things like Grandmaster Nightfalls. This is a must have weapon, so today we are doing a full breakdown on its God Rolls.

EDIT: Apparently High Explosive Ordinance also increases your reserves by 5 for some weird reason. Is it a bug? Idk, but you're gonna want that on your god roll.
PS: I misspoke on Deconstruct. For every 4 shots, 2 gets reloaded. I can't math.
I feel like given how Chill Clip fundamentally works (top half of the mag only), Extended mag is becomes a play worth strongly considering.
Yes, you may lose a few total shots in the reserve without High Ex, but what you gain in the tradeoff is very interesting. Given this weapon needs 3 shots to freeze, break points become very important. And in this case, Bungie sneakily hid this benefit behind Extended mag. While High Ex and more reserves make perfect sense for other perks like Incandescent and Voltshot, the way Chill Clip works means magazine options can make things more interesting. The roll with Extended mag + backup mag gives this weapon 16 in the magazine, providing it with exactly 9 shots. That gives it the unique ability to freeze those high-health targets a 3rd time per magazine. That is a big deal, IMO. Appended mag falls 1 bullet short of the extra freeze (8 chill clip shots) and the rest fall 2 short.
So players will have to decide which they value more: a few more shots in reserve or 3x freezes per magazine. But at least we have some interesting options, and all options are good in the end with their own strengths and weaknesses. It's just that the extremes give unexpected benefits of their own to consider.
Mossy max did a detailed post on Twitter w a spreadsheet breaking down the special weapon mag options just fyi. The short answer is it depends on the weapon and weapon type.
I’m thinking extended mag is nice because it lets you more confidently freeze a second target.
I think it's intentional, to compensate for the reduced mag size?
@@AdrianJReynolds sorry but it never mattered how many chill clip shots you have overall, when will I ever NEED 8 consecutive chill clip shots? or when will ever need to freeze twice in succession? it's such a non-factor that building into reserves is the clear play here.

Yet she missed reverberation is doing extra damage with chill clip.
Im sticking with impulse amplifier, the reload is good and the travel speed is decent, it makes a big difference. With the special finisher its so easy to get ammo
That’s the roll I got. TBH I can’t be bothered to play anymore IB to try and get a loose change or Air Trigger roll.

Another funny thing is that high explosive ordnance increases reserves even more so you dont need to run any reserve mods.
I got flared on mine I’m not gonna farm anymore after farming 29 just to get airtrigger and chill clip. It’s not that deep for a few more ammo
How does HEO increase reserves? It’s not listed at all in the description for it, as a perk.

Very happy with my impulse/chill clip roll. Lucked into high explosive on the mag perk, so I'm keeping it. I just wish the model was a little more differentiated from High Albedo. Doesn't *look* like I'd expect a rocket sidearm to look.
Got the AIR TRIGGER/CHILL CLIP god roll on accident looking for loose change and never looked back. Haven't loved a gun this much in years!!!! MUST HAVE!!!
Build idea: air trigger/cc, manticore, stompies. Stomps give DR in the air and air trigger and manticore both give bonuses for being in the air. Prismatic, stylish ex, face of bravery to give manticore volatile rounds and facet of command to reload your weapons when you freeze with chill clip.

I almost threw away the air trigger / chill clip roll. Glad I re-read it because I had forgot about the ammo part. Nice to have the pre-nerf ammo back on the best rocket sidearm.

I always wait about 3 days to delete any rolls since my peanut brain forgets what every perk does/doesn't do anymore. Love this role on mine.

You missed one of the number one perks reverberation. Shoot a regular one and look at the blast radius and then shoot one with reverberation
This thing is the perfect companion weapon for Icebreaker. And then take Slammer or Chill Inhibitor in your heavy slot and fully spec out for stasis and solar and you’ve got one fun build.

It’s nice how you explain the mods and why you have them on for those that don’t know. knowledge of mods helps create the flow of the build and the logistics behind it. Some creators just say “okay put these mods on, and your set”

I used 7 Iron Banner engrams and got two rolls with Deconstruct/Chill Clip. Already did a Tier 3 enhance on one of them. Thank God I don't have to go back into Iron Banner for a while.

Fun fact: hazardous propulsion buffs chill clip based shatter damage on this gun. 35% is pretty nice.
Impulse amplifier over air trigger for me makes the weapon feel way better and gets a reload bump as well. As far as reserves I go my roll got tactical mag and I run a backup mag on it

Rake angle is far superior to this. Unless artifact boost side arms it’s gonna be hard to justify this over rake angle
Rake angle with Cc gives me chill clip on each shot outta 3. Crazy. And deconstruct on Tina gives me chill on 2 shots I believe.
I've been lucky on this with two chill clip loose change and two with air trigger. Not perfect god rolls but I'm ok with getting main perks.

Really good one indeed. I will still keep a bait and switch roll. It can dish out good damage when running Dragonbreath or Anarchy.
2 things noteworthy and something I'm curious on.
So with Deconstruct: Frozen targets count as Constructs IIRC. Meaning every 4th shot gets a 40% damage buff and counts for more progress towards the ammo reload. On a Stasis subclass with high slow/freeze uptime that's a lot of free damage and likely reload (no longer free ammo which is still a bummer).
The other thing that I'm curious on that could be a really good roll: Does Chill Clip scale with Blast Radius at all? If it does; Reverberation + Chill could be an interesting combo as Reverberation grants 100 BR. So going full Velocity with Reverb + Chill could be a possible roll to look out for. Even if it doesn't scale, something like Reverb + OFA would definitely be something worth considering.
To your second point, it does look like the explosion also slows so reverberation probably would be excellent if spreading slow is your goal

Any opinions on reverberation on this thing? I've only seen one video so far saying it actually increases the damage, but of course that's not in the tooltip. Other videos say the AOE expansion isn't noticeable.
I thought I had to do more iron banner, because my two chill clips (one impulse amplifier, one with deconstruct) didn't have ideal ammo perks. Then I read your pinned comment that hi ex ord somehow gives move ammo?... bizarre. Logging on now to double-check that's true, because I have that perk on both of them.

You don't need reload for this thing, just facet of command. And never reload again.... it's insane.
Why not have air trigger and chill clip with facet of command on prismatic subclasses, continuous chill clip with expanded mag and reserves? Just a thought here

@@MavenPhoenixyep. My roll has high explosive ordinance + deconstruct + chill clip. You get the bonus reserves from high explosive ordinance and the reload from deconstruct.

High Explosive Ordnance is way better than tac mag btw. And it also adds a lot of blast radius which is MASSIVE for rocket sidearns.
The difference between a 25-30 blast radius Rocket Sidearm and a 60 blast radius one is insane.

took me about 25 tries and a lot of WTF's said in Iron Banner but I got one with chill clip, havent got the "God Roll" one yet but I went ahead and tried a GM with it on my Warlock with Rimecoat and ohhh buddy.....it wrecks
What about SURROUNDED though!? The damage falloff for this starts at 15m, same as the perk radius. So, if there are 3 enemies in range of he gun, its a 40% damage buff always.
self damage is kind of a thing with rocket sidearms unfortunately. You dont wanna barrel-stuff with them

Opened 50+ engrams and still no air trigger/chill clip
I’ve gone through 20-30 Ingrams and 0 chill clip rolls… 0
I got it in 4 but I went through over 130 engrams for Aberrant Action with Incan' and never got it and got one red border so I had to use my DSH too get the rest.

I really used to hate air trigger but once I realized it’s just “field not prepped” with more maneuverability I went back and searched for all weapons with it
I have reset my IB rank twice and I've only gotten one air trigger / chill clip & one loose change / chill clip. RNG has been AWFUL for IB this week

Bro's last few vids have been somewhat awful. Like he's a player that sticks to the same four or five weapons and disregards the artifact because he's so godly at the game. He turned his nose up at the tonic system because he looked at one potion and didn't care for the effect and assumed all effects were worthless. It was a common potion and he didn't have any of the higher ones crafted.
He disregarded this weapon because he already has fusion rifles with chill clip. And because he has a vault filled with perfect rolls, he doesn't want to bother having to actually hunt for something new. Thing is, people like us don't go looking to guides and reviews if we already know and have everything. I personally seek out info in case I overlook a perk or combo (I have seen many experts overlooking Deconstruct with Chill Clip on this).

You wanna see this thing at its most powerful level see if you can get a roll with impulse amplifier . Omg 😨 it destroys everything. Yea you don’t get the same mag size and have to reload but omg it blows shit up . I have the Decon/chill w AppMag and I’m very happy with that . I’m grinding away looking for that Air Trig but yea I definitely agree this is the S tier and by far and away best weapon of the season so far .
Iron Banner should always give at least one engram per match. I lost 15 in a row and only got 1 engram. I'm losing my will to live.

Not necessarily forever S tier. The origin trait is a weak point, so if/when we get a second stasis rocket sidearm it could surpass Tina. Kinda similar to Indebted Kindness with Sundering (especially pre-buff)... Or Arcane Embrace, the first/only burst shotgun, with Search Party, come to think of it... It's almost like they're intentionally giving some of these early examples of be archetypes underwhelming origin perks as a selling point for future weapons
