    Hey Matt! I’d recommend getting some 1/8” Teflon pins for the weedguards. I pour my jigs with Teflon in the weedguard hole and the paint doesn’t stick as bad as it does to the metal pins.

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I’ve been doing it this way for years. Just what I know. I should get some to try out.

      @@MattLunaFishing I feel you man! I used the metal pins for a while. I noticed with the Teflon you can get all the way down to the hook because one or two of my molds didn’t let the metal pin get all the way to the hook. It’s also nice because you can leave them in after pouring and paint and everything without worrying about the metal having a ton of paint stick to it

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s pretty cool you can leave them in

      @@MattLunaFishing I love cranking them out to barter with my local tackle shop, and of course gifting them to my close buddies! Made lot's of people happy this Christmas. That football head with keeper mold is winner too.

    It’s definitely a killer mold for sure the 1/8 Teflon pins slide when powder painting so you don’t have to use the mold pins

      You’re welcome for the video. The dry lube helps the lead go in better. I only use it when I’m having issues getting complete pours.

    is there much difference between this mold and the poison tail outside of the collar being different

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are similar molds. Probably boils down to personal preference. The heads are shaped a little differently.

    Would like too see how they go through rocky. River rock. Limestone rock. Upper. Mississippi River.

    • @MattLunaFishing

      It’s more designed to fish around grass. Eel grass etc.

    In your opinion does it matter whether you let the jig hang or position the jig up to prevent paint sagging? Just new to this and wanting the jigs to come out nice

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They don’t have to be in an upright position. When i started I hung the upside down. You’ll only have issues when you have too much paint on the jigs

    I’m just learning this. Question do you reuse the weed gaurd pin?? I have pants on, but I cannot figure out how to do it without getting paint in the pinhole if I do pull the pin

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      When it comes to the base hole pin, I reuse them. They will get paint on them, so you just need to clean them. I put mine in a cheap coffee mug and pour acetone into the cup and clean them that way.

    Damn good looking jigs what's your approximate cost per jig to make one and how much was the mold?

    • @MattLunaFishing
      @MattLunaFishing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It all depends on what components you use. Click the DoIt molds link and check it all out there. I do it mostly for the fun, but it still does end up cheaper than a store bought jig.

    • @FoxiferTheWhite
      @FoxiferTheWhite ปีที่แล้ว +1
