revisiting this today as Akira Toriyama has past. one of my staples to watch alongside Dragon Ball Z when i was a kid. remember waiting almost a year for the Frieza saga to conclude as cartoon network didn't have the dubs at the time. thanks again Akira, rest well.
What I liked about our UK version of the Dragonball opening was that they took the instrumental from the French/Canadian openings and made a drum and bass feel to it and wanted to keep it close to the feel of the Dragonball Z Rock The Dragon opening that we in the UK saw first and loved so they had the word Dragonball repeated. Its smart. It was to try and not completely alienate the UK audience with an upbeat cheesy feel after watching the other series first.
do you know how looooonnnnggg ive been searching for this SONG????? AND NEVER FOUND IT UNTIL NOW?????.........words cant express.....thank you THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS!!!
Im 31 years old from the uk 🇬🇧. I remember toonami on cartoon network. this is the greatest intro theme song for any anime. Legendary live long the Dragon ball z universe
I have searched TH-cam far and wide for this. Thank you so much for uploading.... To Me, this is seriously, and always have been the best intro to Dragonball to Me. Drum&Bass combined with Dragonball is a beautiful mix.
It's likely because Z had blown up in popularity in the US at the time so they showed it first. By then there was likely more interest in the original Dragon Ball so they showed it after Z was popular enough in the UK.
I honestly think DB is better than DBZ. It feels a lot more natural, we see how Goku met everybody like Krillin, Tien and Piccolo, and we see Goku grow as a person.
I searched “Regular Show intro” and this came up lol. But it does make sense. This does remind me of Regular Show’s theme. Also, you have *DVD* recordings of this shit? Oh my god, that is so awesome! I didn’t really know that recording TV shows on live TV on DVD was actually more common back then!
I honestly think DragonBall is better than DragonBallZ (apart from Freiza, the best saga). DragonBall is just much more down to Earth, showing us the Asian culture, seeing loads of different Buddhist-like monks, Indian Sikhs and stuff like that. After Freiza, DBZ just focused on Super Saiyans only, and characters like Oolong and Puar were pushed aside, not to mention more Western culture was being pushed in, like Trunks, the Androids, and Hercule. DragonBall is rocks and is just awesome.
I won’t lie. I only use to watch this intro then go about my day. When the episode finished I watched the outro. I never really watched Dragonball till way after the fact
Um this is the opening for the blue water dub? Only that the dub got difrent openings in other countries, so while we got this here in England, across the pond the canadians got a direct translation of the french opening
I was wondering what it would be like if they'd showed DragonBall GT first if everyone would've caught onto the DragonBall franchise. Or what if they'd shown DragonBall first. It seriously makes you wonder? Meh. I honestly prefer DragonBall though in terms of consistency. DragonBall Z started off well but then kinda went off track after a while. DragonBall GT was alright I don't understand why everyone hated it so much, at least the villains weren't regenerating every five minutes.
Gt was hatted in japan because dragon ball z was an adult show over in japan (an obvious step up from the teen demographic of dragon ball) so then all of Z’s adult fans were mad when GT was made for children (which was under even dragon ball’s demographic). Now the show was hatted here in the west for simular reasons since Z was marketed towards teens in the west and GT was also MARKETED towards teens but then turned out to be a kids show. (Quick side note gt was actually quite popular here in the uk since were are less strict on tv regulations so dragon ball z uncensored was able to be marketed towards kids and not just teens so the kids watching Z didnt mind the swap to GT)
I watched both this one on Toonami and the Canadian one on Cartoon Network as well as Kai on KIX and turned them off. The American/Canadian Funi/Ocean original one which started it off in the UK is the only one I lasted more than one single episode on. AB Groupe and Ocean solo versions were rubbish I just didn't feel them at all and Funi solo uncut is good but I don't feel the music at all which made the intro crap. As for Dragonball Normal prefer the Poo Gold intro theme but the Funi version as Poo Gold were 1 dimentional on their voice acting
Daniel Cordell hence Poo Gold. The Funi version had the cover of the Poo Gold but it wasn't as good as Poo Gold's original theme but the dub was better by a lot and what we got in the UK. It's funny that the UK Z got a medaley of every single version out there to make it's complete series including it's own versions.
Is Jodi Forrest speaking on behalf of Goku in this dubbing? A group of explanations. I'm from Russia, for that matter. And I didn't watch this dubbing. In general, the voice of this Goku reminded me of Stephen's voice. The one Zack speaks for. Although something tells me that this is Zoe Slusar🤷♂️

I find Toonami's back in the day obsession with Drum and Bass just awesome
What I liked about our UK version of the Dragonball opening was that they took the instrumental from the French/Canadian openings and made a drum and bass feel to it and wanted to keep it close to the feel of the Dragonball Z Rock The Dragon opening that we in the UK saw first and loved so they had the word Dragonball repeated. 2003, I was looking for this song everywhere. 2013, I find it. My 10 year quest is over. Thank You
2023, I discovered this masterpiece
Oh my days this theme tune used to bang so hard, loved Toonami😂 👏
It still bangs.
I've always gotta come back to this! I used to dance around the living room to the music. My favourite opening.
Haha, same

I wish Toonami was still with us. That way we would be entertained by it the exact same level as America.
Toonami is still here.
@@jalensworld7241 not in the UK tho
@@globoiitsuna oh.
Ah yes i now remember what we actually had in the UK.
Omg I forgot about this tune holy shit
Yoooo same!
I have been searching for this for so long! Oh the nostalgia this bring me, absolute big bangers attack!
Well this takes me back. Is it blasphemy that I actually think this dub was superior?
That's a fact my bro
I prefer the funimation dub, but this themes kicks ass! I'm a huge sucker for drum 'n' bass.
The days of childhood that we'll never get back
yes this is the intro i remember, still I wonder why toonami decided to air Dragonball after Dragonballz
It's likely because Z had blown up in popularity in the US at the time so they showed it first.
By then there was likely more interest in the original Dragon Ball so they showed it after Z was popular enough in the UK.
Good old days!
Thanks for uploading this. I've been looking for this intro .
Sometimes they'd play this and the "other" opening back to back.
Thanks for uploading, I love all the different intros to Dragonball.
This opening was godlike
This tune was awesome
LOL, a Drum & Bass Dragon Ball track, my favorite. :)
I honestly think DB is better than DBZ. It feels a lot more natural, we see how Goku met everybody like Krillin, Tien and Piccolo, and we see Goku grow as a person.
I agree
wow took my ages to find this thanks for the upload yo

I know right xD guess I was into DnB a lot earlier than I realised :P
Omg, i loved this !
Good luck trying finding that on DVD!
I quite like this remix a lot.

Dragon Ball Z Kai runs on Kix Sky channel 627. It's on the Frieza saga right now. Watch it! It's in the UK btw
I won’t lie. I only use to watch this intro then go about my day. When the episode finished I watched the outro. I never really watched Dragonball till way after the fact
lol the french intro's tune is in the background
So, I'm not the only one who noticed! :D
Nah :P i know it really well
Same here! 10 damn years!
Lool I remember this opening, argh man brings back soooo many memories. What's the name of the song anyway?
RAVE!!!
They should've used this for the Opening Theme for the Blue Water dub rather than what we got :P
Um this is the opening for the blue water dub? Only that the dub got difrent openings in other countries, so while we got this here in England, across the pond the canadians got a direct translation of the french opening

And now I can finally put an old arguement to bed once and for all... Don't remember those sound effects, though, mind...
Might be thinking of the credits version that has no SFX or voices.
What all are on your DVD recordings?
This intro comes me down
Hot fire.
Finally found this intro took me years, what’s the name of this intro please?
Bluewater Dub Uk
i agree
better than blue water dub
This IS the UK opening for the Blue Water dub.
Funimation had a better opening but Toonami UK did better with their custom opening than Toonami USA
@kingcorville u should do a dance to this song
^ THIS!!!!!!

by poo gold you mean harmony gold?
Dragon ball dragon ball. Dragon ball dragon ball. Dragon ball dragon ball...
Which opening had corny lyrics like "the fun and excitement are waiting for you" etc?
I remember that song better than i do this one which is weird.
Are you canadian? Because thats the lyrics for the canadian opening, (also the french lyrics but not translated)
It is indeed Zoe Slusar. Jodi Forrest was only apart of those weird dubbings of the Dragon Ball and DBZ movies by AB Groupe.
@@Takimeko Thanks for the explanation
The Canadian dub
just add /watch?v=Er1kOz5w9iE and you'll find it
I only know the Arabic Version
Cross between Canada dragon ball's into and z's
Technically its a cross between the french intro and Z’s cause the canadian intro was a direct translation of the french op
i like the original happy version better
Huh huh what is this? Alrady know why ppl of England r sooo bored
Because of the opening of a cheap dub of a kids show that hasn’t aired in 16 years? Your argument makes no sense?
Nah Japanese opening is still better
this opening is worst than the Spain spanish opening... the latin america version is the best followed by the Japanese
