Obviously the frame is worrying. However, the last time a tall skinny guy from Europe with a unique last name and great work ethic came into the league, he put on a ton of muscle weight and became the best player in the nba
Well do you think everyone has giannis genetics. No. That doesn't account for his malnutrition because of poverty. So when he came over here, he grew muscle. Unlike most of these skinny tall guys
@@maliprince8703 true but he grew his muscle mostly from bulking have u seen him lift weights. He Litterly has the mamba mentality the kid will need that

Something to keep in mind is that sports medicine has evolved greatly the last couple of decades. Surguries that were once not available or were experimental, are now routine. I wish this young man a long and healthy career.
And it is precisely in the last two decades, as specified in the video, that we have seen a complete lack of 7’2+ players who can play without staggering amounts of injuries. Sports medicine has not evolved in a way that prevents long thin players from getting hurt. And the recoveries for the injuries they’re more susceptible to are very long. TL;DR, in the past few decades specifically, nothing has changed at all in regard to this topic. We can only wish the best for Wemby
Load management is probably even more important, especially for BIG men. Do not think it will be uncommon for these guys only to play once or twice a week in the regular season in the future.
In Yao's defense, in between his Country forcing him to play and the NBA he was playing like 200 games a year. He held up pretty well given the circumstances. That man was FIRE
As a French fan everybody here is talking about how great his mental is and how determined he is to bulk up to defy these odds, that kid is special. Giannis Luka and now him what a blessing to be a European fan ahah
I’m glad Sabonis gets so many mentions even though he came into the league practically a veteran with major injury issues already limiting him down. He was the true monster of nature in his time.
That injury risk is just something every team has to gamble with. Thats why prospects like him are protected from a very young age. By the looks of it, he has a great team around him. It's just amazing when the sporting world unearths gems like Victor Wembanyama 💯
He does have a good team. He went up to the EuroLeague at 17 to prove he could play, he did that in spades. After that year he was basically a lock to be number 1 in the NBA draft two years later so his team had him move back down to the French league so he only had to play once a week during the season, and didn't have to travel a lot. So the last two years hes basically been load managing, and just working on his development.
One of the major contributing factors to Yao Mings injuries is the fact that he rarely had any time to recover. He practically had no offseason to rest having to play for the national team during the summer.
There is some guy playing today whose dad had a few seasons in the NBA but had them late in his career because he was from some Soviet country. It's just be nice to get these international players without national confliction getting in the way. Edit I think he's !mention around 2:00 with the blazer's jersey.
@@connortimoti Domantas is not just a pretty decent player. He might be the most underrated player in the NBA, and he was my second favorite Pacer ever, next to Reggie Miller. I love that we have Haliburton, but man, I miss Sabonis…
Even though this video is about Victor, every time you mentioned Arvydas Sabonis a smile lit up on my face (I’m Lithuanian). Thanks for the praise you gave him!
Sabonis was insanely talented! If only he went to the NBA when he got drafted. He literally played his best physical years in the UDSSR, not the US. I love watching his highlights. His basketball style and IQ are so similar to Jokic imo. Love to Lithuania from Austria! We "only" got Poetl (Spurs) but your (also very small) country produces TOP Basketball players on a daily basis it seems. :D
I say that about Yao anytime I talk about him to someone. His talent and skills was actually unbelievable when you consider his height. It’s a tragedy he spent most of his career injury plagued
Off the top of my head, Wilt Chamberlain. Good longevity and led NBA in minutes played 9 times. Chamberlain was a natural athlete but also put a huge emphasis on physical conditioning which I can imagine is critical for big men to avoid injury.
@@daleftuprightatsoldierfield They're just splitting hairs to make a story of it. Everybody knows the NBA is notorious for having height wrong. There hasn't been that many players 7'1 and above to gather data from. Its called too small of a sample size
chet needs to put on weight hes like 180 pounds 7"1 getting pushed by 6"8.5 Lebron whos 250 pounds imagine bro has to gaurd 285 pounds charging zion whos nearly double his weight
Victor Webyomama is gonna be a great player. I can just see it. He has all the tools. And with a name like that how could he not be great? Plus he's a foreign big man and he's got that Giannis type motor that you want your big men to have. All the best big men that have high competitive motors and got a feisty edge to them are all foreign players, Webyomama, Jokic, Embiid, Giannis. American big men are soft like AD and miss tons of games and don't care about winning or being great.
People forget that one of Lebron's greatest skills is his availability. It is shocking how healthy he has been over his career, like a machine that almost never breaks down
@@jacobparker4237 I mean these NBA guys get the paycheck anyway so why not invest on what makes you rich Your Health? Lebron really cracked the code on that one. Mind you the salary in the NBA is so high right now that even bench guys earn at least 1million a year. These Nba guys don't have to follow Lebrons lifestyle to the core but they could at least adopt some of the things lebron is doing to maintain his body.
Back after my Spurs won the lottery, I’m so damn excited to get Wemby. We are the perfect landing spot. Spurs are great at developing young talent, time to do it with Wemby.
French here, I m through the roof the Spurs has won THIS lottery, is Chip still part of the coaching team ? I ll need to reactivate my Poundingtherock account 😊 had the chance to witness the full 3 amigos career under Pop (late broadcast time and ver here 😅) and would like Pop to be rejuvenated by the prospect of welcoming this young (good) lad in the NBA. Also know the SA institution will nurse and protect him the right way
They could use him like a super weapon. My take: He trains hard off the court, gets crazy durable in the gym, and only plays key games likes it’s 2k mycareer. With limited minutes on the court, injury risk goes down and the rest of the league have few opportunities to figure him out on defense.
I hear a lot of people talking about how bulking up decreases injury risk, but is that necessarily true. When you're 7'3+ tall, doesn't having too much weight put a lot of strain on your body. Yao Ming's injury was stress fracture, which I imagine was partially caused by his weight of 310 pounds. Being super tall increases your injury risk, but not by as much as you might think. There are two reasons why. First, a lot of tall people have gigantism. People with gigantism are far more likely to be weak and get injured simply because they don't grow the same way as normal tall people and their musculoskeletal system cannot handle their height. Victor Wembanyama doesn't have gigantism, so his risk is already reduced. The second problem is that there are so few people that tall, so you often have to make a sacrifice. You don't have a large enough pool to choose people who are going to be as agile and injury-resistant as the shorter people in the NBA. I mean there aren't enough tall people in the world to find one as agile as the guards in the NBA, so of-course they are going to have a higher chance of getting injured. Injuries are highly inversely correlated with your control over your body. Skill in manoeuvring your body and understanding where your body parts are at all times will reduce your risk of injury, especially in the fast-paced athleticism-based game.
Like everything else, there's a healthy balance. Put on too much muscle and you could easily become injury prone due the loss of flexibility and just too much weight on a frame not built to handle it.
Bulking up help protect against injury because the muscles protect the bones and cartilages. There's just no way to determine the ideal proportion, more so individually. But with today's NBA with less body banging, tall players will also have longer careers like the smaller players.
Yes being taller does means greater likelihood of injury so adding mass also makes it more difficult on your joints etc. That’s why these super bigs have short career spans, but they’re careers will be shorter if they don’t put on weight, because he’s not gonna be able to battle in the post if he remains a twig
If they don’t neglect tendon strengthening then the big man can last a lot longer than what we have previously seen. It is okay to build muscle as long as you also focus on flexibility and tendon strengthening. If the medical team can work on day by day form reconstruction, players like d rose, Shaun Livingston could have avoided their injuries - for both of them tendon neglect and form was their downfall. It is is inevitable for it to happen to players like ja morant and Zion Williamson if the trainers don’t put focus on that aspect of their injury prevention.
Can we take a minute to appreciate how awesome Shaq was, as a youth. Shaq vs the Great Wall was always a great matchup. Same with Tim Duncan, best PF ever! This coming from a Laker fan.
1. Relevant information 2. Music and video ratio 3. Detailed editing 4. Fluent and easy to understand video structure. These 4 things are what make this channel #1 in the basketball category
Plus: - rare hardcore statistics and analysis - artistic narrative and storytelling The man should make sports documentaries for Netflix. He has the hole cinematographic package
What I hear is there have been such a small number of tall guys in the NBA history .. yet the video keeps comparing the ratios of injury across athlete heights categories. I'm no statistician but to me that makes zero sens statistically speaking, you cannot just compare the average number of a group of thousands units with the average number of a group of less than 20 units. So it's a nice video, raises an interesting point, but the statistical biases just make it irrelevant
Thanks Jimmy! What I like most about Victor is that his attitude is so much different than your usual players that all this hype goes around, he's said in interviews, even on this video, that he just wants to have fun playing basketball, he's just great while doing that. A lot of prospects think like this, but most in the first picks don't. At his age he seems very level headed, I've never met him so it's just a assumption. Also, and for me it's the biggest thing, both is parents are accomplished sportsmen, his dad a long jumper. He said that he learned from a young age how to run properly. I think that sounds simple at face value, but having a professional in a different sport based around being tall and running teach you how to run, jump and "fall" properly is massive, I believe it's the reason WHY he's so fast and agile in his frame, he's had that since his father taught him. With this, he didn't just suddenly spurt into his height, he's apparently been taller than most his age for a while. This means that he's super used to his body, his physiology is used to his body and tensions, as it develops - we're talking about a kid here so I won't describe him like a machine, but he's grown up in this form. All of this should reduce his injury proneness, and puts him in such a good position. On the other end, accidents happen, other players happen, and so injuries happen - to all players - he knows this, his family and coaches and everyone who cares knows this, and I'm sure he'll get the right support to ensure his longevity - cause this kid loves the game and he's not just gonna want to become the best as priority, he's gonna want to enjoy it for as long as possible if I had to take a guess.
With all that worry around his frame, I too would risk everything to have this kid in my franchise and watch him - possibly - probably - bring a different play into the nba, and I'm so excited to see him get it. Raptors fan here, but for some reason I see this kid ending up with the Spurs.
3 point shooting Massive Elite on perimeter defense Elite on interior defense Great on ball Great off ball Extremely mobile Great ball handling Solid passer He can literally guard 1-5 on defense and play 2-5 on offense. Don't be surprised if Sam Presti and the OKC Thunder win the lottery and get this kid hahaha! They are set up to have more bites at the 🍎 than any other lottery team in 2023 I believe.
Spurs have great history with trading their talent as soon as possible, like Kawhi and Murray, won't be surprised if they trade Sochan in 2-3 Years. So ye, if they get Víctor, you can already guess he won't be there for long.
really wish with all my heart that he can stay away from injuries.... imagine how unstoppable he could be with a body as trained as giannis's ... its not gonna be easy ,he would have to train all day to the gym and the court and it has to be his only focus for a lot of years to get to that level physic because the taller you are the harder it is to build muscle cause your muscle are longer and more.....
thing is... its not just about muscle.. joints, ligaments, bones, etc are under extra stress the taller you are (weight/gravity) so sadly I feel like we're just waiting to see when, not if.

Just like all scientific disciplines, sports medicine is always moving forward. I wouldn't be surprised if in the future more and more of these athletic giants are able to maintain their physical health longer into their careers. Not to mention changes in managing and coaching regarding load management; play him 25-30 minutes a game, 50-60 games a year for ten or twelve seasons rather than 35-40 minutes a game as many games as he's healthy for six or eight seasons.
It's a nice idea, but injury rates in the NBA have been going up over the decades, not down. I don't see why supertall players would be an exception to this trend.
@@lrmorgan07 I think it's also because there's more strain on young players now. Training regimens are being picked up by youngsters early in childhood.
Sports medicine is definitely moving forward but more in terms of recovering players faster and better. 15 years ago Klay probably wouldn't have returned from those two injuries, but there is no much advancement in preventing this injuries from happenning, even if medicine is much better, unless we turn players into cyborgs they will still be injured

As always, great video... I'm hoping and praying to God that THIS young man will far exceed what is expected for him and the length of his career. I hope he ends up playing and being SUPER effective 20 years in the NBA...I really do

Thank you for defending Yao Ming, even tho his stats doesn't stand out (especially reb) he is criminally underrated. He was able to battle Shaq 1on1 and BBQ prime Dwight Howard every time they meet. I can't even believe when TMac didn't pick Yao Ming in one of his fantasy bball headsup and I felt betrayed by one of my favorite players growing up. No other teammates in the NBA would have done what TMac did on ESPN that just ain't right !!! Anyways, in today's NBA Yao would definitely be efficient while have the ability to stretch out to the 3pt line and give trouble to all NBA teams... Probably BBQ Embiid too ~!
Love your videos, especially this one! Masterfully paced and produced. Your voice is honey, and insightful comments and research are amazing. Thank you! As for the percentages being SERIOUSLY stacked against Victor, that is simply undeniable. I've been a lifelong Blazers fan since 1979, and I've seen Sam Bowie 7'2" out of Kentucky (drafted along with Jordan) break his leg at the actual game in Portland's Memorial Coliseum. Then we had Greg Oden - another #1 pick - go down with repeated knee injuries. Both were generational talents in their own right had they stayed healthy, and therein is the cruel rub - they simply can't. In Victor's case, he's obviously bright and coordinated, but he will need to add another 50 pounds in muscle to be in the NBA...and his height and frame will suffer as a result. The writing is on the wall. Perhaps the X factor in all of this is that sports medicine and treatments for high-end professional athletes have never been better, and I hope Victor can rely on science and medicine to extend his basketball career. Regardless of talent or physical stats, he seems like a really good human being. I am rooting for you Victor!
The NBA is a whole different league. Regardless of the hype. There is a 50/50 on his success. Anything can happen. He is a walking toothpick going up against solid, strong, physical professional men.
Found about him last year from 2k. Had 7 mvps bruh and avg 29 on his career. Idc if it’s 2k but the fact that he’s actually 7’3 and has a skill like that, got me interested.
Lebron had all the athleticism and skill but what no one knew was how special his mind is. Also no one outworks him. Stays out of trouble. I mean no one has ever been as hyped as him and he couldn’t possibly live up to it any better.
Well yeah he could’ve stayed with his team and wanna ring organically instead of having to go to Miami, that would’ve been better scenario just off the top of the head lol
@ko7577 he literally trains his flexibility like crazy, hes probably the least injury prone player above 7'1, so eve if he doesnt live up to the expectations, theres still a good chance he'll be one of the best players above 7ft
Oh how fast they forget about Zion Williamson, the hype behind him was way higher then Victor in my opinion he's the biggest prospect since bron and he's also more nba ready Victor like you said needs to add weight
100%. Really hope Zion keeps it together this year because him healthy is also something I've never seen on a bball court. Absolutely insane athleticism, Zion's hops would be impressive if he was a skinny dude, let alone a flying refrigerator
Somebody needs to tell this dude about Ralph Sampson, one half of that dynamic frontcourt of the Houston Rockets who put the defending champs the Lakers on their backs in 1986 WCF, along with Hakeem Olajuwon.
Let's hope he can stay healthy when he comes to the NBA 🙏 would love to see another "once in a decade/century" talented big to dominate the game again.

he went third. he may be one of the greatest players of all time if not the greatest when he retires but as a prospect there was too much doubt around him.
"Some say he is actually 7'5 but that is just speculation." * Shows a picture of him towering over a 7'1 player and alongside a confirmed 7'4 player that he beats in height but keeps referring to him as 7'3 throughout the rest of the video *
It was a bit funny i must agree. It was something in that whole thing that made you think that the photoshopping was not due to the alleged height, but maybe he wrote the script on another day of the project or something similar.
Lots of people think wemby is gonna get injured a lot during games but he’s taking he’s height to an advantage. He’s doing some crazy stretches and therapy to prevent possible later injuries.
What's scarier is that his family has sports genetics, his mother was a basketball player, his sister won gold at the FIBA U16 world cup in 2017 and his father was a long jumper athlete.
I remember pretty much the same thing said about Ralph Sampson before he got drafted. He was 7'4, very athletic, gifted, and did stuff that nobody his size normally does. He was a beast until he got hurt. Those injuries pretty much ended his career. He did make the Hall of Fame eventually.
Difference between now an then is the widely used time(health) management tactics the teams use on their superstars now. (Thanks Kawai) This kid can stay healthy and strive if the team he is drafted to doesn't over work him.
It’s not just that though. It’s a physics issue. It’s a lot to ask of a persons joints and soft tissue to take NBA level of competition for even 50 games. I hope I’m wrong but those giant players just never last.
For this kid to make it he needs the help of MODERN HEALTH & TRAINING: Trainers should give him Low/No impact excercises to maintain his joints as well as Food supplements that strengthen bones and joints.
I was thinking the same thing, his joints are the weakest in his frame. Instead of just bulking up willy nilly, get him to swim a lot. The cardio and muscle development related to the activity is perfect for those that need less impact on their joints, while also building core strength that's also a common issue with big men when they start working on their post game. The best case/evidence I got is Tim Duncan. His longevity is underrated, for how long he played at a high level as a PF. Along with his style of play, which I'd recommend to emulate 100%, his physique is a perfect example of a balanced development of "not too heavy, nor too light." He can post up people like Dwight, and still finesses his way in.
I'm highjacking this comment thread because i was about to come here and say the same thing. I would also like to add that adding weight would be the wrong the to do. His frame wasnt made to carry a lot of weight. The problem with 7'0 just comes down to one thing and that's physics. Majority of peoples weight is above the knees and the mode weight you have the more pressure you put on the knees. Now add running and jumping on a basketball court for many years and thats more pressure on your knees, legs, foot, and back. If you look at basketball players these are the areas that are affected while they are playing and after they retire. To minimize this for 7"0 they shouldn't add weight just strengthen their muscles and joints. Best theory that has the most success is physical therapy rehab workouts. It reaches you to strengthen all your muscles instead of your main ones.
Hope the kid can stay healthy. As a Blazer fan, I've seen more than my fair share of big guys have their careers ruined by injury. I pray he's spared from this fate.
Mark Eaton is so underrated. This dude was blocking 4-5 shots per game every year which is insane. He holds the record for most blocks per game in a season and most total blocks in a season. He also has the record I believe for most career blocks per game. He also was a great rebounder, he could score a little and was a solid passer. Eaton is one of the top 10 best defensive big men of all time. Think he won 2 DPOY'S but he should've won more. He's a very underrated player. If Utah would've had him just a little bit longer and if he would've been with them during his prime when they faced the Bulls in the finals then there's a good chance that Utah probably beats them at least 1 of those times. An older MJ wouldn't have been able to drive to the hoop as much, would've gotten less free throws and would've had to settled only for mid range 2s, long 2s and 3s. Eaton was one of the best rim protectors ever. He was huge at 7'4 and had such long arms. He was pretty athletic as well.
Another entertaining and insightful video! Wembanyama is absolutely a once in a lifetime talent and I'm excited that he'll be in the NBA soon. Also, yes, Yao Ming has been criminally underrated especially after his playing career. It's absurd but I'm glad you called it out here. Looking forward to the next video!
Rewatching the beginning of the video again after watching the end really drives home the point. It's hard to talk about this kid like lebron when you have these injury risks shadowing over him. He wouldn't just be a generational talent if he lives up to those expectations. He would be the best giant we've ever seen in the NBA. Possibly the best Center, period.
As usual with jimy, his analysis isn't very statistically sound, though. He does have a point in tall players being injury prone, but the group 7.3 ft tall or above is literally too amall a sample size to draw any valid conclusions from it. The way vic moves and his physique certainly don't give me anxiety like zion always has, it looks quite sustainable on screen.
Pick up your cross and follow Jesus! The world is quickly headed for destruction, and sooner or later you will have to sit at the judgement seat and give an account for your actions. Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life! - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God tho. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc and you should get a response. Have a blessed day!
@ko7577 jxmy wasn't talking about before the NBA, though. I was mostly pointing out yet another flaw (drawing conclusions from tiny sample sizes) in a history of sloppy and untruthful presentations. That's why you see legit content producers like Ben Taylor in official cooperation with the NBA, not jxmy.
Yes Wilt was insane. I never understand how people don’t include him in the goat discussion. I think Wilt was 7’1” maybe just under the injury prone height.
I remember in early 90's Sean Bradley at 7'6" was getting this exact same type of hype. He's a giant that can handle the ball and shoot we've never seen anything like him. We all thought he'd be the #1 overall pick but then Chris Webber was drafted and we all thought PHI got a steal at #2 overall in Bradley. Sean ended up be a damn good player but he wasn't HOF caliber or even All-star level but he was NBA Starter good and lead league in blocks and averaging at least 3 blocks a game for each of his first 6 seasons. One interesting highlight of his was staring in Space Jam with Jordan and Barkley.
I disagree with the statement that "only" 3 of the 26 super-tall players made the HOF, that seems like a lot to me, considering the amount of players that have played in the nba. I did some rough math using data i found on google and it turns out only 4,2 % of all players ever made the HOF, however of your listed 26, a whopping 11,5 % made it, so it is nearly three times as likely for a super tall person to get into the HOF. You also have to consider that these people are just extremely rare, meaning that it is much less likely that they are super athletic, tough or skilled because they are closer to the normal person, just a lot taller and therefore recruited. I have the same doubts with Victor that i have with Zion, their bodies just seem too different to stay healthy, but Victor has this serious amount of skill as you mentioned, and in the current NBA that is the most important, which makes him hard to pass up on at #1. You just can't throw that away because you know he might get injured.
Nah u prolly seen tht video of him playing Gobert tht surfaced back in 2020 when he was 16, he’s been around but aint make the national stage till 2022
I’ve been following Vic for a while now and I agree that potential injury is a real concern. But if he maxes out his potential, he could literally be one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen.
After watching your video, I went to watch some of his highlights, and he's definitely an unique player. But I did notice a few things. Firstly is his ability on the offensive end, most of the highlights are pick and roll dunk and fast break dunk, but I haven't seen any one on one attack and the offence didn't seem to centre around him. Not sure if it's because of the highlights or him being a young player in his team. This reminds me of porzingis, who is becoming more of a 3pt spot up shooter rather than capable of getting a bucket with ease. Secondly is his recovery speed on defensive end, definitely is quick on his feed, but he might struggle when guarding a heavy player like Jorkic or Embiid. Baby Yao was also skinny so in order to be competitive in nba, Yao bulked up quite a bit, but that also increased his risk of injury.
I believe what can greatly help to extend the career of these giants among giants is to load manage their games. Apparently their body can't keep up with the grueling NBA schedules so load managing I believe would help trying to save them as much as possible for the playoffs
Stop trolling, try to tell Wilt Chamberlain or Kareem Abdull Jabbar or Bill Russell or Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett that they aren't playing that nights game cus of "load management" and they will knock you straight tf out. And they all had long productive careers

Here's hoping you go on to become one of the GOATs, Victor! Make sure to watch a lot of Larry Bird and Michael Jordan videos -- they have the work ethic. And keep a good attitude like Magic Johnson. You'll get there, bro! I'm looking forward to watching your career!
@@alexnguyen1284 Exactly. Pundits see a player dominate in HS/college/AAU and automatically assume it will translate to NBA success. With the rarity of this being the case, you would think networks would be more reserved in their predictions, but apparently not…
People were Saying Bol Bol could be the #1 pick(probably #2 or 3 behind Zion and Ja) before he got injured because he was averaging about 21 points 10 boards and was shooting like 40% from 3 in his first ten games and then he got injured and his draft stock plummeted
I think there’s 2 main determining factors that will make victor different than any other big man career and injury wise. 1) everyone talks about his weight and how he’s too light, however I think this works in his favour. He’s less likely to get serious injuries when he’s on the slimmer side because his body will be under significantly less stress. Less weight = less body stress = less injuries. 2) the way he plays is so so key here. Although he may not be a lights out shooter yet, his form is extremely solid and I’m almost certain he’ll turn out to be a great shooter. When this is combined with the fact that his post move is more based on fakes and spins, rather than going body to body down low, it significantly decreases the physicality of his game. I think that by decreasing the physicality his body will stay healthy. He’s an amazing prospect and I’m very excited to see him in the league.
Less weight doesn’t equal less injuries.. good try tho. I could refute that with the TALLER you are the MORE LIKELY you are to get injured. The nba is physical.. funny how you guys only mention offense like he isn’t going to have to bang down low all game on defense which will put SIGNIFICANT toll on his body especially which him being so light. His height will only mean so much when Putting shoulders three him backing I’m down. Hopefully the kid does stay healthy.
Good point Jonathan King. Even though he’s a massive human being his body being on the slim side will help out because there is far less weight for those knees to carry. Just hoping those constant little nagging injuries don’t hold him back his whole career. I can definitely see lots of pulled hamstrings, ankle sprains and probably a Lisfranc injury or two in his future. I do hope he can avoid them though. I’m rooting for him to be great.
Thanks for the appreciation of my gameplay Jimmy. My main goal is to focus on the game and the hype around me isn't gonna affect the way I play.

Idk he seems like he is from a tough stock, he definitely has "created player" potential #sorrysolate

Being lanky is worse
If they don’t neglect tendon strengthening then the big man can last a lot longer than what we have previously seen. It is okay to build muscle as long as you also focus on flexibility and tendon strengthening. If the medical team can work on day by day form reconstruction, players like d rose, Shaun Livingston could have avoided their injuries - for both of them tendon neglect and form was their downfall. It is is inevitable for it to happen to players like ja morant and Zion Williamson if the trainers don’t put focus on that aspect of their injury prevention.

@@naturalmystic1262 no its not impossible for people to gain weight. I don't know wut ur on about.
@@thanks8110 Look at how small his joints are. People like that can't put on muscle very easily.

The guy was in my school (Charles Péguy, le Chesnay). At 13 he was already more than 2.10 meters and we were already talking about him being a prodigy and reaching the NBA
I got to compare hands with the guy
Damn he is tall

Yao is definitely better than Embiid

Agreed he needs to pack some muscle onto his frame
So is chet tho.
He’s playing against grown men in France in pro too
@@jaylie1662 as I said The NBA is another level.
Yeah he looks like a strong breeze would take him down. Not impressed.
Sabonis played at an elite level unfortunately it was mostly in Europe. He started playing here at age 31 but still put together 6 good seasons.
His height issue is an inconvenient truth for teams salivating over him, that's for sure. He's a high risk/high reward pick.

Special mind? Its special all right. Dude can barely read a book.
yeah he had all the athleticism but skills??? big NO
Well yeah he could’ve stayed with his team and wanna ring organically instead of having to go to Miami, that would’ve been better scenario just off the top of the head lol

This is really funny to watch now, with his incredible NBA preseason debut
@ko7577 he literally trains his flexibility like crazy, hes probably the least injury prone player above 7'1, so eve if he doesnt live up to the expectations, theres still a good chance he'll be one of the best players above 7ft
Oh how fast they forget about Zion Williamson, the hype behind him was way higher then Victor in my opinion he's the biggest prospect since bron and he's also more nba ready Victor like you said needs to add weight

"Some say he is actually 7'5 but that is just speculation." * Shows a picture of him towering over a 7'1 player and alongside a confirmed 7'4 player that he beats in height but keeps referring to him as 7'3 throughout the rest of the video *
"confirmed" height. That dude could be lying about how short he is vs. Wembanyama about how tall he is. Just ask Durant.
@The Corbinator .... he used the officially listed height .. you are very simple minded.
It was a bit funny i must agree. It was something in that whole thing that made you think that the photoshopping was not due to the alleged height, but maybe he wrote the script on another day of the project or something similar.
@@valdemarharaldsson2497 No, much simpler. He used the officially published height .. how are you guys lacking common sense to this degree.
The NBA takes and publishes true measurements. But not until you are on a roster.
Congrats, the nigga is still gonna be getting bullied if drafted
That's very true!
Lamarckism is not real.
There's just one things scouts are forgetting....today's video is sponsored by Keeps! How could they forget that's crazy
I hope I’m wrong but those giant players just never last.
they can do all they can but at the end of the day your body just cant always hold up
For this kid to make it he needs the help of MODERN HEALTH & TRAINING: Trainers should give him Low/No impact excercises to maintain his joints as well as Food supplements that strengthen bones and joints.
Knees over toes guy
I pray he's spared from this fate.
not easy when you have "dirty" players still in the nba
12:36 This dude packing players from 8 feet away!!! it’s gnarly to see him play. If he bulked up a bit he would be absolutely terrifying
Mark Eaton from the Utah Jazz. 7'4 and a hell of a player. Nothing but respect to him...
I would say wilt is probably the first jaw breaking talent. As he was tall, great vertical, ran track, did the high jump, long jump etc

Not the same hype bro, I remember
Their games are way different
That's very different
Shawn Bradley is nothing like victor
It's Still way too small of a sample size to even mention.
That's very true
this is probably the first time any of us heard about wemby
Nah u prolly seen tht video of him playing Gobert tht surfaced back in 2020 when he was 16, he’s been around but aint make the national stage till 2022
I’ve been following Vic for a while now and I agree that potential injury is a real concern. But if he maxes out his potential, he could literally be one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen.
yea it's kinda like a high risk, extraordinary reward situation
Just wait and see what happens.
@@billblaski9523 now a days players aren't built that tough anymore
I was just about to say "I hope he watches this, takes the constructive critiques to heart, and does his best to protect himself from injuries by developing good habits" but then I saw his comment on this video!

"He is like a combination of Jordan, LeBron and Magic." - ESPN on literally every #1 draft prospect
they said that about zion, markelle fultz, cade, anthony edwards, anthony davis, ayton, ben simmons, etc.
@@alexnguyen1284 Exactly. Pundits see a player dominate in HS/college/AAU and automatically assume it will translate to NBA success. With the rarity of this being the case, you would think networks would be more reserved in their predictions, but apparently not…
Wembanyama looks extremely impressive, I'm just worried about the last time jxmy made a vid about a generational talent(Bol Bol)
I hope this guy will have great success in the NBA...the Tanking game will start in 2 weeks
Imagine if the thunder get victor and pair him with chet. That would just be unstoppable.
