On a serious note, this movie reminds of me of my Dad. My Dad dressed a lot like Stallone does in this movie. My Dad was a hard worker who was also a single parent to 6 kids. He would do anything for us. RIP Dad. You deserve it after all the sacrifices you've made for us. 😞
Same here! I watched it over and over again until I was Over The Top! But seriously, being the same age as "Michael" in 1987 it was like being right there in the truck with Sylvester Stallone! I still watch this wonderful movie from time to time as I have it on Blu-Ray. I miss the 80´s soo muuuch!

"I need this truck."--such a moving quote..................not ashamed to say it brought tears to my eyes!
Whenever I run into someone and they say they are going to Vegas.... I say "You Ain't Got A Prayer In Vegas!" .... in the past 20 years only two people have recognized that quote from Over The Top.
"Mr. Cutler is talking to you"... "I'm through talking" ... just loved this movie & I can't really explain it unless you're a Stallone fan... then you'd get it!
The thing about Stallone and his words of advice is that it comes from a genuine place. He really was down on his luck in life and living poor and had offers to sell-out (His original script for Rocky was offered close to a Million dollars without him in it but he turned it down) But he chose to go after what he wanted instead and risked it all.
this movie came out when 80's WWF was at it's peak, same target audience, pre-UFC days, gotta love the intros for John Grizzly, Mad Dog, Boscoe, the Canadian dude lol just a classic flick
I likes this movie a lot, I was curious into review sites, such as rotten tomatoes, which they basically always rate, good movies trash, sure enough, Over the top got a 32%, WTF? Hey, at least rotten tomatoes gave The Terminator (1984) a 100% rating, at least they gave that movie the correct rating.
tvmoviefan . Rick was a great guy to be around always funny. Very happy and proud when he got the roll in Presidio and Batman. He was a great coach in armwrestling, I learned a lot
Boy, when Sylvester Stallone wants to leave, you let him leave or else you get punched and shoved through French doors without hardly any effort on his part. 😂
This Film Was Introduced To Me By My Older Bro Who's 39 Now And I'm 32 As A Kid I Loved This Movie But As An Adult It Gives Off A Totally Different Feel And Meaning I Get Emotional Watching This Movie Its Deeper Than Arm Wrestling His Fight To Be In His Sons Life Is What Lead Him To Win
+Alexander Hamilton Just saw this movie today for the first time in my life on Netflix. After every movie I watch, I go on IMDB to see what the actors are doing now in their lives - I looked up Robert Loggia and it said he died 4 days ago. Life is trippy like that. May he rest in peace.
Loved this film growing up in the fabulous 1980s, ...great story of, family and sentiment,...plus it as a great soundtrack to it,..the 1980s rocked,...and was a great decade...
All I care about Dad is being with you, I LOVE YOU!! Gets me every time. Loved this movie growing up and still love it to this day. My lil bro and I lost our Dad young found a father figure in Sly. Thank you sir. ❤
If this movie was made during this time, it'd be a failure. 80's were a special time, 90's too! Only in the 80's can a arm wrestling movie be this awesome!
Today’s Kids’ Heroes: MCU, Edward from Twilight, John Cena, Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. My Heroes: Karl Adams, Bull Hurley, Mad Dog Madison, John Grizzly, Harry Boscoe and Lincoln Hawks.
Used to watching this film with my mum when was about 8 or 9 and I still love watching it now. Still feel like a big kid when I see the truck in the opening credits. And also makes me think of my mum now that she’s no longer with up.

When I was a kid I was totally routing for Bull Hurley. I thought he was so awesome! Plus, my older brother loved Sylvester Stallone, so naturally I would route against him or whoever else my brother routed for. Especially the Patriots. I would ALWAYS route for whatever team the Patriots were playing against, and he would get SOOOOOO MAD at me. Hahahaha, we still talk about it to this day.
Stallone always plays "the humble guy" who everyone wants to fuck with...but he just wants to A) Get something to eat: Rambo B) Just hangout with his girlfriend and NOT have a rematch: Rocky C) Wait till Vegas: Hawk and he always has that same look on his face like "bruh....can i just live" lmao
*Does anyone else agree that Bull Hurley was a Stone Cold Bad Ass?* *_"YOU AIN'T SHIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!!!!"_* *"I drive truck, break arms, and arm wrestle. Beautiful post 😔

Your father was a badass!
One of the greatest movies of my childhood right here!
you damn right, yellow belly!
Me too
Yes!
Same here😭😍 I've watched it a hundred times. We had it on Betamax. I'm 44 now and after watching this I realized I still know all the lines and scenes

I've heard a number of people say the early '60s Autocar he sells was a better truck than the brand new one.

"The world meets nobody halfway..." -Lincoln Hawk
You gotta take it.
This is such a great father and son film. I remember watching this with my dad and I'll watch this again with my sons as well.
The interviews with the competitors is like an awesome 80s version of The Office.
"I got a family, when this is over i'm comin to get him" this line really digs deep.
Yup, still gives me chills, love this movie, true classic Stallone, 1 yr later he did Cobra, 80s ruled,
Am through talking
A highly underrated film.
I was born in 84 and we arm wrestled all the time bc of this underrated classic badass movie
Did you be sure to turn your hat backwards?
Did you squeeze the thumb?

Bull Hurley was a master of the mental game.
